Accessibility Information

Important Conditions
The timed pass reservation system is for visitors’ personal use only, and Smithsonian timed-entry passes are valid only for the stated visitor(s), date, and time. Passes may not be sold or transferred.

We ask that all visitors, including those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, follow these safety measures to protect everyone’s health. Visitors who do not adhere to safety policies and guidelines may be asked to leave.

Personal Belongings
We encourage you to limit the number of personal belongings and bags you bring into our facilities, as they will be subject to a thorough search. Limiting the items you bring will increase your speed through security check points. Some small lockers are available on Heritage Hall, on a first come, first served basis.

Many items are prohibited at all Smithsonian museums

Do not bring sharp items into the museums such as knives (including pocket or "Swiss Army" style knives), screwdrivers, scissors, etc. Other items not permitted include firearms, pepper spray and Mace.

Visiting Tips
Visitors will enter the museum from 15th Street and Madison Drive, NW. Please be advised that the visitor’s entrance to the museum on 15th Street and Madison Drive, NW is accessible. The museum exit is located on Constitution Avenue, NW.

The Sweet Home Café is currently open Monday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m. with a limited menu. On Mondays, the café and store will open at 12:00 p.m. You may bring a refillable water bottle. If you have any further questions, contact Visitor Services at NMAAHCVisitorServices@si.edu.
