SPRING PLAY - "Cheaters"
Spring is in the air! Join us for the Halle Cultural Arts Center’s spring play.Allen and Michelle have been living together for eighteen months. It is the first real relationship for both of them. Michelle thinks they should marry; Allen isn't sure. His hesitancy drives her home to her parents for advice. Michelle's Father isn't aware that it is Allen's mother he has been seeing for the last six months and would now like to get rid of, nor does Michelle's mother know that it is Allen's father she has just spent the night with and would like to see more of. The pieces fall uproariously into place when the parents decide to meet the young lovers over dinner to lend their maturity and experience for the benefit of their children's relationship. It's suddenly everyone for himself in this wild, rollicking look at love and romance.
Directed by local legend, Kathleen Rudolph, this year’s play will usher in the warmer weather with laugher, thoughtfulness, and perhaps a lone tear or two.
Tickets: Adults $18 / Seniors $12

Halle Cultural Arts Center
The Halle Cultural Arts Center was built as the Town of Apex Town Hall in 1912. The population of Apex was estimated at 700. Construction cost was $7,500.
It served many purposes. Outside the front door on the sidewalk was a hand operated pump well. The first floor contained a farmers market offering seasonal fruits, vegetables, and fresh chickens. A firehouse and two jail cells were in the rear. A ticket office was near the front door.
Upstairs was the Mayor’s office and a theatre with opera style seating and large windows for ventilation (HVAC today!). It was a home for silent movies, dramas and musicals, as well as the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources. It is located in the heart of the downtown Historic District and is perfect for exhibitions, musicals, dances, plays, receptions, meetings, fund raisers, and celebrations.
