Over 100 comedians have applied to be a part of the Columbus Comedy Festival in August, and a live panel of judges will help narrow the field at The Funny Bone on Sunday, June 2nd! Join us for a rapid-fire showcase of local and regional comedy talent and cheer on your favorites. One lucky winner will earn a spot in the main lineup in August!

Jake Anthony and Matt Marr are two Southern Queens who absolutely love reality shows about lonely hearts looking for love. They recap it all including, TLC's 90 Day Fiancé, Love is Blind on Netflix, Seeking Sister Wives, and some other shows where the people are just hot messes looking for love. If you've been looking for your gay BFFs to dish this show...well you're welcome. They both are shady queens who are boggled at the insane ways some of these people search for love in this world. About the Artist:
Ben Brainard is a comedian with a natural ability to make any crowd laugh. Originally from Daytona Beach, and now living in Orlando, Ben has toured across the country. He’s also produced several shows for Army Reserve units. During quarantine, Ben found viral success producing “The Table,” a sketch comedy series about how the various states of the US are handling current events.
Since a very young age, Ben has been “the funny kid,” or at least, “the kid that will cheer you up,” but, oddly enough, standup comedy was never really a part of his plan. Before his junior year of high school, Ben won an “Engineering Scholars Program” scholarship and literally did rocket science for a summer. As a senior in high school, Ben played 3 sports, took AP and honors classes, and won student body President as the presidencies for the FCA and The Academy of Drafting and Design. For a year and a half after high school, he majored in mechanical engineering and double minored in physics and CAD/CAM at Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. Then, one day, he got bored of calculus, dropped out of school, joined the US Army Reserve, moved to Orlando, and started doing standup comedy. Ben has always said “yes” to opportunities, and his “I’ll try anything once” attitude has ultimately led to some hilarious stories and an irrationally high 26 different jobs since he turned 16. Ben has done everything from work a drive-thru at Chick-fil-A to drive a bus for the YMCA after school program, and now he takes the stage to tell all about everything he’s done and seen and make you laugh along the way. Standing at only 5’5 and weighing in at 125lbs, Ben is not an intimidating presence, but don’t let his size fool you! He packs some serious punchlines! From jokes about his stature to hilarious stories about dating, jobs, general life mishaps and even his crazy family, Ben is sure to have you laughing until your sides hurt!

Stand up comedy juggernaut Comedian Earthquake has been on a high since The New York Times proclaimed his hit comedy special, Chappelle’s Home Team-Earthquake: Legendary the funniest comedy special of 2022! Produced by Dave Chappelle for Netflix, ‘Legendary’ gave ‘Quake’s’ fans what they’d been waiting for while introducing him to a whole new audience who experienced his brand of comedy for the very first time!
Quake’s past appearances on classic televised comedy programming has made him an undeniable fan favorite; however, his present-day work speaks volumes as he commandeers television, film, stage, and the digital space.
Earthquake can presently be seen on the CBS hit sitcom, ‘The Neighborhood’ and Bounce TV’s, ‘Johnson’. You can stream his episodes of ‘South Side’ and ‘Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty’ for HBOMAX. Fans can still check him out on ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ which streams on Paramount+. The Funniest Person in Columbus Competition

Get ready for a hilarious showdown featuring 45 contestants, each bringing their best jokes in just 5 minutes of stage time. With 3 judges and 4 intense rounds, it’s the audience and the judges that will ultimately determine the top 5 comedians who advance to next round.
 
Competitions scheduled: June 12th, June 26th, July 10th and the Finals July 31st.

Benedict Polizzi is a stand up comedian and actor. He starred in season 2 and 3 of FBOY Island and can be seen everywhere on the internet with almost a billion views across all social media platforms. He's been seen on HBO, The CW, and has been featured in People magazine, E! News, Men's Health, BarstoolSports, MemeZar, MensHumor and BetchesMedia. He was named Indy Star's Best Comedian and opened for Nikki Glaser during her “ONE NIGHT with Nikki Glaser'' tour in 2022. Polizzi hosts podcasts ESPRESSO with Benedict Polizzi, and THESE GUYS! with internet sensation Joey Mulinaro. Both available on all platforms. When Benny isn't performing in comedy clubs all around the country, you can find him on a busy street "Polite Catcalling" which gained him over 500 million views online, or eating rotisserie chicken in his car in complete silence.

About the Artist:
Jay Pharoah is an actor and stand-up comedian. With six seasons as a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live, Pharoah is best known for his wide array of uncanny celebrity impressions, including President Barack Obama, Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Stephen A. Smith, Kanye West and Chris Tucker, as well as his recurring character, school principal Daniel Frye, and starring in the Showtime series White Famous. In film, he appears opposite Claire Foy and Juno Temple in Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane. Additionally, he just wrapped shooting for the comedy #TwoMinutesofFame. Last year, Pharoah voiced a role in the animated movie Sing alongside Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon. Pharoah’s past filmography includes supporting roles in Get a Job, Top Five, Ride Along, Intramural and Lola Versus. He has voiced various roles in the animated TV series Family Guy, BoJack Horseman, Legends of the Chamberlain Heights, Robot Chicken and the upcoming SuperMansion. About the Artist:
Shawn Gardini is an All-American stand up comedian from Philadelphia by way of New Jersey. He is 5'7 and 140lbs. 
You may know him as the producer of Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast. From the sketch show Gilly and Keeves. Or his appearances on other podcasts. God Bless you all.
