    MSU Federal Credit Union Showcase Series


    From sublime harmony to monstrous thunder, four grand pianos at the masterful hands of multiple pianists paint a picturesque concert with enchanting unity and beauty.  “Stories from Around the World,” presents a medley of classical selections highlighting fairytales, folklore, and culture, part of an unforgettable musical experience for the whole family at the Fairchild Theatre.

     

    This year’s program will feature a classic children’s fairytale, Peter and the Wolf, by Sergei Prokofiev. Additional works include La gazza ladra by Gioachino Rossini, music from the play Peer Gynt composed by Edvard Grieg, Cielito Lindo-themed folk songs in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, and John Philip Sousa's famous Stars and Stripes Forever. 

     

    MSU pianists include Young Hyun Cho, Deborah Moriarty, Derek Polischuk, Zhihua Tang, Tamar Mikeladze, and Eric Zuber. Marc Embree will be the narrator for Peter and the Wolf.

Fairchild Theatre has transformed from a 75-year old proscenium-stage facility into a modern performance venue with state-of-the-art acoustics. The 462-seat historic hall hosts College of Music courses, rehearsals, masterclasses and performances.
