"CDC In Wonderland": A Captivating Spring Dance Recital

 

California Dance Company is thrilled to present "CDC In Wonderland", a whimsical dance recital inspired by Lewis Carroll's classic tale. Four unique and enchanting performances will take place on June 15 at 10am, 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm at the Cascade Theatre, promising magical storytelling through the art of dance. 

 

Prepare to journey down the rabbit hole with us as our talented dancers bring to life the beloved characters and scenes from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". From the curious Alice to the mischievous Cheshire Cat, and the flamboyant Mad Hatter to the formidable Queen of Hearts - our dancers will transport the audience into a world of fantasy and wonder. 

 

Under the direction of CDC's faculty, the dancers at CDC have been diligently rehearsing to deliver performances filled with creativity, precision, and heart. Audiences can expect a dynamic blend of ballet, contemporary, hip hop, tap, musical theater, and jazz dance styles, and an electrifying aerial silks piece, from students ages 2 and up.

Nor Cal OUTreach Project is proud to present Let There Be Light: A Drag Showcase. 

 

Dig up those dollar bills, because we are back baby! After all those show stopping performances and unforgettable gowns in 2023, we've decided to do it all over again for this year's Pride: New Beginnings. This time the show features local Redding talent as well as some familiar names and faces from last year. Come early for the silent auction. And, well...because the line was around the block last time. We don't want to keep our stars waiting again! Whoops.

 

All tips go to the showstoppers. Proceeds from tickets and auction will go to NorCal OUTreach Project, providing vital funding toward our mission to serve Shasta County's LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Like other grand works of public art, Santiago Calatrava's Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay has generated both awe and opposition - and changed the image of the town of Redding. On July 4th, 2004, the $23 million pedestrian bridge opened to the public, a gift of The McConnell Foundation to the community. Angle of Inspiration documents the process of turning an architect's vision into a one-of-a-kind bridge, and the process of creating a new center of town: connecting the two sides of the river, and stirring the passions of every resident. An interview with Calatrava, the architect of the train station at Ground Zero and the Olympic Village in Athens, anchors the documentary.  Jill Eikenberry (LA Law) narrates. Original music by Jon Herbst.
