PBC's concert season concludes in May with our Pops Series, "Skyward," an energetic and exhilarating program of popular, contemporary, and familiar music. We are delighted to collaborate with the electrifying trio of Glen McDaniel, Nick Villalobos, and Zack Clark, together known as Simply Three. These Mesa-based artists have been captivating audiences worldwide with high-octane performances and viral music videos since 2010. Yet another highlight of the Pops Series will be the world premiere of Italian-American Raphael Fusco's "It's a Long Way," the first-place entry in our 2023 New Works Rising Choral Composition Competition.

Led by vocalist/guitarist Jesse Teer, The Senators are based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The well-respected Americana/Folk outfit have built a loyal following on the strength of beautiful songwriting, extensive touring, well-crafted videos, and consistently engaging recordings. The heart wrenching “Indiana” is a prime example of Teer and his fellow collaborators, Chuck Linton, Jason Yee, and Marshall Hunt doing what they do best. The Senators hone intimate, well-crafted songs full of longing, inspiration, and hope.

Veronica Everheart is a singer-songwriter making candid tracks with a personal, unique edge on subjects such as love, self-image, and mental health that all listeners will relate to. Veronica Everheart is an authentic and empathetic songwriter who has been compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Courtney Barnett. Everheart pairs intimate lyrics with the occasional satirical take on love. Her debut single “Sour” encompasses Everheart’s style. Lines such as “heart is a melancholy word, and love won’t save me that’s for sure” and “I’m sorry for all I said but why do I have to apologize for something that you did?”

Building on the success of sold out shows worldwide, a new 50+ city U.S. tour will kick off the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga. The highly-anticipated sequel Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse Live in Concert will land in Phoenix at Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, October 6. The films have become a sensation for their incredible and ground-breaking soundtracks which have been heralded for their unique mix of orchestral and electronic music, and scratch DJ’ing.

 In Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse Live in Concert audiences will see the film presented on a huge HD screen, accompanied by a range of musicians and instrumentalists performing music from the film’s score and soundtrack live to picture. This will include an orchestra, a scratch DJ on turntables, percussion and electronic instruments.

The score for the film was created by Emmy-winning and Academy Award® and Golden Globe®-nominated composer, Daniel Pemberton, known for his work on movies such as Ferrari, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Oceans 8, Enola Holmes, The Bad Guys and Steve Jobs.

“Across The Spider-Verse is probably the most exciting, ground-breaking and impactful score I’ve written,” says Pemberton. “I’ve always believed that there should be no barriers to music, but it’s rare to get the opportunity that you get within the Spider-Verse - where else could you have powerful orchestral themes side by side with punk drum solos, virtuoso record scratching next to twisted electronics, off-kilter whistling next to hip-hop beats?” The film’s soundtrack was curated by Metro Boomin, and features the likes of Future, Nas, Swae Lee, James Blake, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, and more.
