    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Bronwyn Keith-Hynes has long been renowned as a prolific instrumentalist, earning two IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year awards as well as a Grammy for her work with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway. But on her latest album I Built a World, the Charlottesville native unlocks an impressive new sound: her voice.

"This is the first album I've ever sung lead on. Singing is something I'd always thought I'd do at some point and in 2020 I had the time and space to finally find my voice," Bronwyn says. Even as the pandemic halted touring and so much else, vocal lessons kept her focused. "It's funny," she jokes of the timing, "you put a mask on me and suddenly I want to sing."

I Built a World marks her first vocal album, but Bronwyn has been a musician since before she can remember. "Apparently, I saw two girls busking on the street playing fiddles when I was three," she explains with a laugh, "and I pointed to them and said, 'I will do that.'"   Read more...

The innovative “klezgrass” music of Zoe & Cloyd springs from the rich traditions and complementary styles of fiddler/vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist John Cloyd Miller. Descending from a lineage of klezmer and jazz musicians, Natalya trained classically in her home state of Massachusetts before moving south in 2004. John, a twelfth generation North Carolinian and grandson of pioneering bluegrass fiddler, Jim Shumate, is a 1st place winner of the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest and the Hazel Dickens Songwriting Contest. Based in Asheville, NC, Zoe & Cloyd delight audiences with soaring harmonies and heartfelt songwriting, seamlessly combining original bluegrass, klezmer, old-time and folk with sincerity and zeal.

In 2023, Zoe & Cloyd released their fifth studio album on Organic Records, entitled Songs of Our Grandfathers. The project is an homage to their respective bluegrass and klezmer roots and has been enthusiastically received with feature articles in Bluegrass UnlimitedNo Depression and the Bluegrass Situation. Also in 2023, Zoe & Cloyd performed at numerous events including Bluegrass Omagh in Northern Ireland, the Earl Scruggs Music Festival, the NC Folk Festival, and will host A Swannanoa Solstice at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts in Asheville.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The Wilder Flower blends Folk, Americana, Bluegrass, and Old-time influence into something new and fluid. They thrive vocally on three-part harmonies, whether a two-chord old-time ballad, or a modern, minor-filled melody, and instrumentally feature bluegrass banjo tunes, fiddle and clawhammer string-band songs, flatpicking guitar, and everything in between. Their unique sound is centered around original songs and tunes that are thoughtfully arranged and adapted to showcase their tasteful instrumental sensibilities. They flex between genres and writers in each song, but there is something to their collective taste that speaks the same language, though switching dialects.

If you've been to a show, you know how lively they are on stage. With years of experience dating back to their early teenage years, they are natural performers. As a band they enjoy engaging with audiences, telling stories, and opening up about their songwriting and musical process. Because of this openness, they create a meaningful shared experience with the audience at every show, and often leave people laughing.  Their  loyal audience members joke about returning again and again to their shows because the dialogue on stage is always unpredictable, and unmissable.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Launched in August of 2020, Tuesday Casual Collaborations at 185 King Street has become a cornerstone of the vibrant Brevard music community. Every week Travis Book assembles a unique group of musicians for a one-time-only show, drawing on his vast network of friends and growing repertoire of musical styles. From Bluegrass to Blues, Songwriter to Americana, Country to Funk, Travis and his ever-evolving cast of local and national (even international) musicians consistently hit the sweet spot between preparation and spontaneity. “Eventually, I hope to play with everyone!” he occasionally boasts, and he’s well on his way. Travis has hosted a wide range of musicians, including: Anders Beck, Nicki Bluhm, Josh Daniel, Beppe Gambetta, Mike Guggino, Vince Herman, Sierra Hull, Cris Jacobs, Jim Lauderdale, Lindsay Lou, Steve McMurry, Mimi Naja, Tim O’Brien, Woody Platt, Jon Stickley, Kyle Tuttle, and Cristina Vane. He also regularly employs the skills of world-class local musicians like Jeff Sipe, Mike Ashworth, Tommy Maher, Bennett Sullivan, and Derick Gardner. Every week is unique, the musical styles wide-ranging, but the one thing that remains constant is the intention, positivity, and charisma that Travis brings to each and every show.

Tonight Travis and his friends will be performing a Tribute of Tony Rice's work.

Songs From The Road Band is an Asheville, North Carolina based bluegrass supergroup featuring Mark Schimick (mandolin), Charles Humphrey III (bass), Sam Wharton (guitar), James Schlender (fiddle), and Gabe Epstein (banjo). The band takes flight with virtuosic  picking, singing, and grammy award winning songwriting.  Several of their most recent singles have gone to the top of the Bluegrass Today Grassicana chart. They have 6 studio albums available at all musical outlets.

“The Western North Carolina quintet is this band of melodic pirates, roaring down the highways and backroads of Southern Appalachia in search of a stage to play, perhaps another kindred spirit to collaborate with in the sacred art of songwriting and creating something (beautiful and permanent) from nothing (thin air and momentary inspiration)" - Garret K. Wodward, Smokey Mountain News

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Established in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Palmyra explores the fusion of traditional folk string instruments, lush harmony, and earnest songwriting. The trio, now based in Richmond, captures the collective spirit of three Virginia natives: Teddy Chipouras, Mānoa Bell, and Sasha Landon. Often described as a distant cousin to The Avett Brothers and The Wood Brothers, Palmyra nods toward Appalachian and Midwestern Americana, with intricate arrangements that create the illusion of a full, larger-than-three ensemble.

The breakout folk trio has worked diligently to cement themselves as an unmistakable force in the Americana music landscape at large. Their forward momentum is propelled by their craftsmanship and dedication to an intimate performance experience; at the heart of the Palmyra is the evident love and regard that the three musicians share for each other and their craft.

Palmyra has directly supported Watchhouse, Mipso, and Illiterate Light, and has won honors and recognition from institutions including the historic Newport Folk Festival, American Songwriter, NPR, The Boston Globe, Under The Radar Magazine, Americanafest, and Merlefest.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Brushfire Stankgrass is a bona fide Asheville original bluegrass fusion group.  The quartet, led by the Saylor brothers on banjo and guitar, delves deeper into the funk/rock/reggae spectrum than most bluegrass jambands do, while exemplifying the musicianship and authenticity of a band that was truly born out of both Asheville’s bluegrass scene and Asheville’s weird rock/jamband scene.  Exciting live shows and cutting edge studio material is at the forefront of their musical product, and the band often enlists the help of guest performers from Asheville’s fertile and diverse music scene to add depth and color to their studio and live creations.  The band has had the same lineup since 2013, and continues to write and release new music after over 20 years performing in the area.  Some of their most notable streaming and live hits are Asheville area favorites like “Pretty Ass Blue Ridge Mountain Shit”, “Esther From Leicester”, and “North Carolina.”

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Just as the marbled salamanders emerge from under damp logs and leaves, the
mushrooms—smooth, pearlescent ones and spongy morels—turn on like night lights glowing in
the dark, and the long-horned beetles and regal moths begin buzzing. The fiddlehead ferns and
trout lilies curl inward, a copperhead slowly swerves, and a fox steps into the moonlight looking
for prey. It is here, in that restless middle of the night, under cover of darkness, where Caleb
Caudle’s sixth studio LP Sweet Critters is nestled.
Through sometimes shadowy arrangements that creep and lurk, Caudle continues to mine both
the brightest and murkiest corners of his imagination, finding that purest of points where
tenderness and grit collide, inspired by musical heroes like Buddy Miller and Guy Clark, and
mentors like Elizabeth Cook and John Paul White. It was White who Caudle tapped to produce
Sweet Critters, along with Ben Tanner, at the duo’s Florence, Alabama studio Sun Drop Sound.
"I was very excited to work with Caleb on this record. Iʼve been a fan for years and count him as
a friend,” White says of working with Caudle. “Heʼs a stellar songwriter, so I knew heʼd bring the
goods. And he did.” The album features Allison Russell, Aoife OʼDonovan, John Paul White, and
    Caudleʼs own touring band.
These songs are a showcase of Caudle’s singular command of language. He sees the world
through a hyperreal lens wholly unique to him, one that renders dank humidity “horsefly heat,” a
moody sky “cast iron skillet” dark, or a loved one’s “wind chime of a smile.” For Caudle, details
are the last frontier in a world where thousands of new songs are created every day. As such,
he weaves his intricate tales of redemption, sacrifice, forgiveness, and loss with the colorful
threads of living, breathing characters and all the rich idiosyncrasies and ephemera that fill out
    their worlds.
Caudle and his band have played Stagecoach, Cayamo, Luck Reunion, Mountain Stage,
Merlefest, Americanafest, The Long Road (UK), AMAUK (UK), and recently supported Marty
Stuart, Steve Earle, Hayes Carll, Elizabeth Cook, Brent Cobb, Charles Wesley Godwin, Ray
    Wylie Hubbard, and many more.
