    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Tampa Theatre and Live Nation Presents will welcome comedian TK Kirkland to the Theatre’s historic stage at 7:30pm Saturday, Aug. 24.

For more than 25 years, stand-up comedy icon TK Kirkland has earned the title Hip Hop’s First Funnyman. His hilarious perspectives on relationships and adult life entertain eager crowds who gleefully yell out his tagline “Who Raised You?” at the end of a signature joke.

Breaking out in the 90s, his smooth style, swagger on stage and hilarious routines quickly earned his peers’ admiration, including Original King of Comedy DL Hughley, who counts TK as a mentor.

TK built his career headlining comedy clubs and appearing in hip-hop cult classics like Cash Money Records’ Baller Blockin’, but he’s recently found viral stardom with an entirely new generation of fans.

Through raw, uncensored takes on popular shows like The Breakfast Club and Vlad TV, TK has embraced his second wave of fame as a relationship/lifestyle guru – introducing his signature flavor of humor to new laughing fans.
TK Kirkland is poised to continue this victory lap in 2024 with his all-new Catch Me If You Can Tour.

    1h 29m / Not Rated / Silent Comedy

Come experience time travel at Tampa Theatre as Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ underscores an afternoon of silent comedy classics from the genre’s all-time masters with all-new original musical accompaniment written and performed live by the Theatre’s artist-in-residence, Steven Ball!

Cops (1922): A young man (Buster Keaton) finds himself unintentionally entangled in a chaotic series of events that lead to a wild chase with an ever-growing mob of police officers. With its inventive slapstick humor and brilliant physical comedy, Cops is the perfect sample-sized portion of Keaton's genius as a filmmaker and performer. (18m)

Mighty Like A Moose (1926): After a homely married couple (Charley Chase and Vivien Oakland) undergo plastic surgery without each others’ knowledge, they unwittingly plan an extramarital affair… with each other. Although Charley Chase may not be as well known as the other Charlie of the silent film era, his clever script and comedic timing make Mighty Like A Moose a delightful gem of early cinema from the year Tampa Theatre opened. (22m)

The Immigrant (1917): As Charlie Chaplin's “Little Tramp” character journeys to America aboard a crowded ship, he tries to help a young woman and her ailing mother with his winnings from a card game. But, of course, misunderstanding leads to misadventure, and hilarity ensues. Filled with Chaplin's trademark physical comedy and social commentary, The Immigrant remains a timeless classic, celebrated for its humor and poignant depiction of the immigrant experience at the turn of the century. (30m)

Big Business (1929): Laurel and Hardy play door-to-door Christmas tree salesmen who unwittingly engage in a hilariously escalating battle with a homeowner over the sale of a tree. Filled with clever gags and physical comedy, Big Buinsess showcases the duo's unmatched comedic chemistry and remains a favorite among fans of classic comedy cinema. (19m)

Alabama-bred and Nashville-based, comedian, actress, and content creator Danae Hays represents a fresh, new female voice in the comedy, acting, and music worlds. Her cast of zany southern characters and parody country music songs have pushed her to the top of the Spotify and Apple Music charts, earning her a cumulative following of 3.6M+ followers and nearly 2 billion views.

Tampa Theatre and Live Nation Presents will welcome comedian and television host Bassem Youssef to the Theatre’s historic stage at 7:30pm Friday, Sept. 20.

In Youssef’s one-of-a-kind solo comedy performance, the audience is taken on a personal journey from his career as a heart surgeon in Egypt to finding himself in the middle of the Arab Spring and becoming the host of the largest political satire show in the history of the Arab World. His jokes earned him worldwide recognition as “The Egyptian Jon Stewart,” but also got him arrested and interrogated, and ultimately prompted his escape to America just as the country was going through its very own identity crisis.

Youssef was the host of popular TV show Al Bernameg – the first political satire show in the Middle East. Originally a five-minute show on YouTube, Al Bernameg became the first online-to-TV conversion in the Middle East and the most-watched show across the region, with 30 million viewers every week and more than a million subscribers to its YouTube channel. In recognition of his success, Youssef was named among TIME magazine’s most influential list for 2013 under the “Pioneers” category, was awarded the International Press Freedom Award by the CPJ, and was chosen by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the global thinkers during the same year.

Youssef currently performs his one-man show, The Middle Beast around the globe. The first title in Bassem’s children’s book series, The Magical Reality of Nadia published on February 2, 2021 by Scholastic and is currently being developed as an animated series. Bassem can be seen in Mo (Netflix), Ramy (Hulu), Lioness (Paramount+) and Upload (Amazon). In October, 2023 Bassem’s interview with Piers Morgan saw worldwide acclaim and was shared and reposted on the internet all over the world – it is now the most viewed interview in the history of Piers Morgan Uncensored.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Declared by The Huffington Post as “the real hero of sitcom TV,” Patricia Williams (aka Ms. Pat) is a comedian, author, radio host, podcaster, and actress. Her critically acclaimed series The Ms. Pat Show, based on Pat’s real-life story of an inner-city drug dealer turned suburban mom, premiered its fourth season in May. The series is streaming on BET+ and Paramount+ with an edited version airing on BET linear. The premiere of the show shattered viewership records and garnered Emmy nominations in the “Outstanding Direction for a Comedy Series” category in 2022 and 2023. The Hollywood Reporter raved “Think Roseanne of the 1980s and 1990s, but even rawer” and Essence Magazine gushed “Ms. Pat is headed for the comedy stratosphere.”

Following the success of The Ms. Pat Show, BET/Paramount Global signed Pat to a multi-genre deal to produce, write and perform in new series and other projects—both scripted and unscripted— across all platforms. Under this deal, she debuted her weekly court show Ms. Pat Settles It on BET linear in 2023. In the beloved tradition of Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown, and Steve Harvey, Pat takes hold of the gavel to settle people’s everyday disputes with a jury of her comedy friends, resolving high stakes disputes including who is financially responsible for dog poop on that rug, do food stamps count as payment, and what is proper hair wig etiquette. The series premiered as the No. 2 show on primetime television for Black viewers as well as Black women in the 18-49 demographic.

    LIVE ON STAGE!

    *****
Tampa Theatre and Emporium Presents will welcome comedian Brad Williams to the Theatre’s historic stage at 7:00pm Friday, Nov. 8.

Williams’s show offers a fresh perspective on life's quirks, cleverly navigating through his experiences as a little person, relationships, and everyday situations. His humorous and inspiring observations on disability, relationships, sex, and race consistently win over audiences; proving anyone can overcome their shortcomings. His high energy live performances frequently produce standing ovations from audience members, which prompted the late Robin Williams to call him “Prozac with a head.”

Williams has parlayed his live performances into a multitude of stand-up television appearances, including The Tonight Show, Dave Attell’s Comedy Underground, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. His first one-hour special, Fun Size, was the highest rated special on Showtime, and a year later, he followed that up with his second one, Daddy Issues, which was even more successful than the first. His third special in three years was an uproarious one, hosting some of the edgiest comedians in the country from the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. His last groundbreaking special on Netflix, The Degenerates, garnered more huge ratings and rave reviews. Also an accomplished actor, Williams has appeared on numerous TV shows and feature films, including FX’s Legit, Sam and Cat, Mind of Mencia, Pitboss, a recurring role on the Hulu original show Deadbeat, and memorable roles in a plethora of movies, including Little Evil, produced by Scott Stuber (Ted), as well as the Netflix original Christopher Guest film, Mascots, and most recently Reno 911: It’s A Wonderful Heist

Tickets range from $29.50-$49.50 plus applicable taxes and fees ($36.50-$58 total at the Box Office & $40-$62.50 total online).
