    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

With his richly detailed, truth-telling original songs, blistering, inventive guitar work and impassioned vocals, Toronzo Cannon is on the cutting edge of today’s contemporary blues scene. His sound is inspired by his heroes, including Hound Dog Taylor, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Albert King, Son Seals and Jimi Hendrix. On his third Alligator Records album, Shut Up And Play!, Cannon blazes his own path with 11 emotionally-charged originals. From serious to humorous, his imaginative songs are fueled by his powerful, cathartic guitar solos and his soulfully authoritative voice. Shut Up And Play! tackles the gamut of human emotions. Song subjects range from the heartbreak of lost love, to the humor of daily life, to the pain of feeling invisible in today’s society, all as seen through Cannon’s wide-open eyes.

Toronzo Cannon was born and grew up on the south side of Chicago. As a child, Cannon would stand outside one of the city’s most famous blues clubs, soaking up the live blues pouring out, while trying to sneak a glance inside at larger-than-life bluesmen like Junior Wells and Buddy Guy. He also heard plenty of blues records growing up in his grandfather’s home. Cannon’s sister gifted him his first guitar at age 22, and his natural talent enabled him to quickly master the instrument. Although influenced by many, Cannon’s biting, stinging guitar sound is all his own.

Cannon has been nominated for ten Blues Music Awards. He has performed at clubs and festivals at major cities all over the U.S. and has toured abroad. He has played the Chicago Blues Festival on ten separate occasions, bringing tens of thousands of his fellow Chicagoans to their feet. His live performances unfailingly earn him heaps of critical praise and hordes of wildly enthusiastic new fans.

Steve Earle is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation. A protege of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, he quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and is now regarded as a classic of the Americana genre.

Earle’s 1988 hit “Copperhead Road” was made an official state song of Tennessee in 2023. Subsequent releases like The Revolution Starts...Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), and TOWNES (2009) received consecutive GRAMMY Awards. His most recent album Jerry Jeff (2022) consisted of Earle’s versions of songs written by Jerry Jeff Walker, one of his mentors.

Earle has published both a novel I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2011) and Dog House Roses, a collection of short stories (Houghton Mifflin 2003). Earle produced albums for other artists such as Joan Baez (Day After Tomorrow) and Lucinda Williams (Car Wheels On A Gravel Road).

As an actor, Earle has appeared in several films and had recurring roles in the HBO series The Wire and Tremé. In 2017, Earle appeared in the off-Broadway play Samara, for which he also wrote a score that The New York Times described as “exquisitely subliminal.” Earle wrote music for and appeared in Coal Country, for which he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. Earle is the host of the weekly show Hard Core Troubadour on Sirius Radio’s Outlaw Country channel.

In 2020, Earle was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. And in 2023, Steve was honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music.

Don't miss this legend live back in Sellersville!

At a time when sub genres threaten to overwhelm, Sound&Shape make pure, unfettered Rock And Roll. Exploring every corner of stylistic possibility within that context, S&S’s songs range from the heavy and fierce to the soothing and gentle. Frontman/songwriter Ryan Caudle’s voice can easily lull you into a false sense of security only to have his guitars come crashing in along with drummer Ben Proctor’s herd-of-stampeding-rhinos drumming and bassist Pat Lowry’s soul rumbling low end.

Over the course of several self-released records and relentless national touring, Sound&Shape have honed a sound both familiar and forward thinking. Enough hallmarks of the rock and roll history they are descendants of to honor their heroes alongside a healthy dose of eyes to the future originality, Sound&Shape has already amassed a mountain of new material that they look forward to bringing to the masses for many years to come.

The band has toured or done single dates with Sparta, King's X, Fishbone, Jeremy Enigk, DaDa, Tremonti, John 5, Crobot, The Spill Canvas and others.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

On debut album Brand New Distance, Cimarron 615 announce themselves as a vibrant new voice with rich Nashville roots. The 10-song record channels a collective heritage that includes Poco, the Flying Burrito Brothers, and Loretta Lynn into a refreshingly contemporary take on harmony-laden, narrative country rock. The album oozes world-class songcraft and innate musicality enhanced with achingly nuanced vocal harmonies, poignant lyrics, and sinewy solos. Marrying bluegrass instrumentation (banjo, mandolin, Dobro) to breezy California country rock, gritty blues, and pop sensibilities, Cimarron 615 effortlessly traverses everything from stripped-down acoustic arrangements to full-on three-guitar rock.

Cimarron 615’s story goes back to country-rock legends POCO and their late frontman Rusty Young, with whom all five members have musical history. When Young passed in 2021, Blue Élan Records head Kirk Pasich organized a tribute concert and album featuring the musicians who would become Cimarron 615 as the house band. The chemistry between the quintet was so palpable that Pasich offered them a record deal as a standalone touring act.  The band is comprised of Rick Lonow (Poco, Flying Burrito Brothers) on drums, percussion and vocals;  Jack Sundrud (Poco, Great Plains), bass and vocals; Michael Webb (Poco, Hank Williams Jr.), keyboards, mandolin, accordion and vocals; and Ronnie Guilbeau (Flying Burrito Brothers, Griffin-Yancey-Guilbeau, Palomino Road), on guitars and vocals.

Cimarron 615’s astoundingly filler-free Brand New Distance is their ultra-accomplished calling card as a singular new act with a charmingly old soul. It’s a record that lovingly ushers forward a country rock genre too often steeped in nostalgia, offering the tingling interpersonal dynamics and adventurous spirit that only new bands can capture.

    Artist Website

From the boisterous Philadelphia club scene to the country-rock milieu of Los Angeles to the picking parlors of Nashville, Craig Bickhardt has immersed himself in the sights and sounds of American music. His music reflects a life lived as a rock band lead singer, solo troubadour, dedicated songwriter, husband and father. Dreams, heartaches and hard-earned lessons have fed his creativity. There is no other way he could have written the eloquent, often bittersweet songs that have become his trademark.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Texas native Rhett Miller is perhaps best known as the frontman of the Dallas-based alt-country band the Old 97's, although he has also pursued a critically acclaimed solo career. Formed in 1993, the Old 97's built a devoted following with their brash blend of country and power pop influences. All four members also pursued side projects, but Miller's solo career captured the most attention. Most of Miller's solo albums have been dominated by cool, melodic pop tunes with a drier and more confessional bent than his work with the band.

Miller added podcasting to his resume in 2019 with the debut of Wheels Off, described in its subtitle as "A Show About the Messy Reality Behind the Creative Life," which featured interviews with musicians, authors, visual artists, comedians, and others who make their living from their art. Miller keeps busy, alternating between solo and band projects writing children’s book and appearing in Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.

This year, Rhett and Old 97’s are celebrating their 30th anniversary with the release of American Primitives, their thirteenth studio album.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Sugaray Rayford is a man with a message and a larger-than-life personality and voice to deliver it. Working with producer, songwriter Eric Corne for the past 3 albums, the soul-blues powerhouse has crafted an incendiary sound and narrative, combining classic soul melodies and funky R&B grooves with raw blues power. The pair's first collaboration, Somebody Save Me, earned Rayford a 2020 Grammy nomination. Later that year he took home Blues Music Awards for 'Soul Blues Male Artist' and 'B.B. King Entertainer of the Year.' Rayford’s follow up, In Too Deep, won a plethora of awards including the Blues Music Award for ‘Soul Blues Album of the Year’.

Rayford’s new release is entitled Human Decency. The title track is a simple reminder that our similarities are stronger than our differences; and in the end, there is no black or white or left or right, there are only hearts and minds.

An all-star cast lent their talents to the album, including guitarist Rick Holmstrom and singer Saundra Williams who are both from Mavis Staples’s band, along with bassist Taras Prodaniuk (Lucinda Williams, Merle Haggard).

For 60 years, South Africa’s five-time Grammy Award winners, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has warmed the hearts of audiences worldwide with uplifting vocal harmonies, signature dance moves and charming onstage banter. It was Paul Simon’s 1987 Graceland album that introduced Ladysmith Black Mambazo to the world. The late former South African President Nelson Mandela designated the group “South Africa’s cultural ambassadors to the world,” a title the members carry with them with the highest honor. In 2018 the group received not one but two Grammy Award nominations for two separate albums, a first in the history of World Music. These two nominations brought their career total to 19 Grammy Award nominations. One of these albums, Shaka Zulu Revisited, won Best World Music Album. This was the group’s fifth Grammy Award win, the most for any World Music group. In 2019, Ladysmith Black Mambazo collaborated for the third time with the famed Steppenwolf Theatre Company on a production entitled Lindiwe and released an album with songs from the show.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo has performed for millions of people, singing a message of peace, love and harmony. With their 2024 release, Soothe My Soul…Songs From Our South African Church, the group puts their own spin on gospel music.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The Machine has forged a 30+ year reputation of extending the musical legacy of Pink Floyd. The New York-based quartet performs a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems.

With stellar musicianship and passionate delivery, The Machine explores collective improvisation rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd, while their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays and lighting continues The Floyd spirit of the 1980’s. The band is also known for recreating entire albums as a part of their show, accepting requests from fans, and for taking an A – Z approach in which one song is played for every letter of the alphabet.

The Machine has sold out theaters, premier showcase rooms and casinos across North America, Europe and Asia, performed at renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riverbend, and Gathering of the Vibes, and shared the stage with full symphony orchestras, including the Atlanta, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Charlotte and San Diego Symphonies, as well as the Buffalo Philharmonic.

The band features founding member Tahrah Cohen (drums), longtime bandmates Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals) and Ryan Ball (guitar, vocals), and newest member Chris DeAngelis (bass, lead vocals). The band continues on to celebrate the music of Pink Floyd and to honor the life of Joe Pascarell, who co-founded the band with Tahrah in 1988.

The buzz on Jennifer Batten rose from the guitar underground, and the guitar magazines promptly began chronicling her savvy musicianship and highly original approach to the electric guitar. A major turning point came when she was selected from over one hundred guitarists to play in Michael Jackson’s BAD tour in 1987.

After the BAD tour, Jennifer set to work on her debut album with renowned producer (and ex-Stevie Wonder guitarist) Michael Sembello. Above, Below and Beyond was released in the spring of 1992. Jennifer was invited again to join Michael Jackson for his Dangerous tour. In January 1993, she joined Jackson in Superbowl XXVII’s half time entertainment which aired to one and half billion people in 80 nations. Her follow up CD, Momentum, which was heavily influenced by world music, was released just before she left for Michael Jackson’s final global tour in support of HIStory in 1997.

In the spring of 1998, Jeff Beck asked Jennifer to join his band. They joined forces for 3 years on the CDs Who Else, and You Had It Coming, which were both supported by world tours. A DVD is available of this collaboration entitled Jeff Beck Live in Tokyo 1999.

Jennifer has authored two music books and has released three solo CDs venturing from world beat and rock ‘n roll to electronica. The last CD Whatever is also accompanied by a 90-minute DVD which includes some of the visuals from her one-woman multimedia show where she plays guitar in synch with her self-made projected films, as well as unreleased music videos, and a guitar lesson.

In 2011 she did a guitar residency for the Cirque Du Soleil show Zumanity in Las Vegas. She also joined forces with truefire.com to record instructional DVDs and downloads. She continues to tour the globe in various formats, from bands, to solos shows, to clinics, and master classes.
