“Jennifer Koh is a risk-taking, high-octane player of the kind who grabs the listener by the ears and refuses to let go.” - The Strad
With an impassioned musical curiosity, Violinist Jennifer Koh forges an artistic path of her own devising, choosing works that both inspire and challenge - her performance at the Singletary Center for the Arts will be no different as she takes the concert hall stage with the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, directed by Maestro John Nardolillo for the Kentucky Premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s mystifying violin concerto, “Processions”, which casts soloist Koh as a soothsayer, sorcerer, healer, and pied piper-type character, leading the orchestra through five interconnected healing spells.
Program also includes Outi Tarkiainen’s Songs of the Ice (KY premiere) and Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances.
