PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Running Time: 2 hours
To close out the season, director Nancy Rich returns to the Cary Players stage to direct a fan favorite - Shrek The Musical.
A grumpy, gruff, ogre's hermit existence is thrown into chaos when a group of homeless fairy tale characters burst upon his swamp, seeking refuge from the persecution of the cruel, vertically challenged Lord Farquaad.
In Shrek's effort to restore his privacy, he cuts a deal with Farquaad, and sets out to rescue the beautiful princess Fiona, who turns out to be quite different from his princess expectations.
With dazzling sets, whimsical puppetry, high energy dance numbers, and laughs by the minute, Shrek the Musical transforms the contemporary children's book and popular animated feature film into a stage musical that is sure to entertain and make audiences believers in happy endings for all. Performances run through May 3, 2020, at the Cary Arts Center.

Will call tickets can be picked up at the Cary Arts Center box office starting one hour before the show. For assistance with accessible seating requests at the Cary Arts Center after 3pm on Friday and throughout the weekend, please contact the general box office at 919-462-2055 or the Cary Arts Center 919-469-4069, and/or reach out to the House Manager beginning one hour prior to the performance.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Run time: 3 hours

The Festival of Villains - The NC Edition explores the different faces of villainy that we see/experience on a daily basis through three mythological characters - Indra, Kubera and Kamsa. What classifies these characters as being either good or villains in these myths? What are the root causes of their apparent fall from grace or apparent redemption? How do these stories influence the lens with which we perceive others in society today?
All these questions and more are explored through three unique solo performances by Kasi Aysola (Prakriti Dance, Washington D.C), Kiran Rajagopalan (Daya Arts, New York) & Ramya Kapadia (Natyarpana, North Carolina)

Tickets left at Will Call may be picked up at the Arts Center beginning one hour prior to the performance.
