    About The Probables:
    WEBSITE | FACEBOOKLISTEN

The Probables hail from the rolling hills of western NY, where their distinctive “Folkana-Roots-Rock” brand of Americana music was born in 2016. Since that time, they have built a devoted, multi-demographic fanbase deriving from the strength of their fiery live performances. Formed initially as a string band fronted by veteran performer and songwriter Steve Johnson, the band’s sound has since expanded to include a powerhouse rhythm section consisting of drummer Jeff Tripoli and electric bassist Jassen Wilber. Rounding out the lineup is mandolin maestro and vocalist Adam Mckillip, and multi-instrumentalist Matt Gronquist on fiddle, electric guitar and Hammond Organ. The result is a multi-faceted soundscape infused with elements of Folk, Rock, Reggae, Bluegrass, and Funk, with Johnson’s introspective and infectious songwriting serving as the unifying element. The band has recorded four studio albums to-date.

The group’s distinctive name was the result of an early exchange involving the Great Blue Heron Music Festival in Sherman, NY. Hoping to make a debut at the annual festival, but having not yet chosen a name, the festival organizer said, "l'll probably book you, so I guess we should just call you The Probables’.” The rest is history...

The Probables have shared the stage with The Wailers, Langhorne Slim, and 10,000 Maniacs, to name a few.

Born in Connellsville, Pennsylvania in 1964, Blasey graduated from Connellsville Area Senior High School in 1982. He then began attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania. There, he met guitarist Rob James, bassist Greg Joseph, and drummer Dave Minarik. Blasey, James, and Minarik first began playing together as "The Administration." When Joseph joined the three in 1986, they became "The Clarks." Initially a cover band, the quartet soon started writing and performing original material, with much of the writing output produced by Blasey and Joseph.

Blasey graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1987. Soon afterward, The Clarks began recording their music. Their first studio album, I'll Tell You What Man..., was released in 1988. The song "Help Me Out" received some radio airplay on Western Pennsylvania stations. I'll Tell You what Man... was followed by The Clarks in 1991, which introduced "Penny on the Floor." Love Gone Sour, Suspicion, and Bad Debt (1994) and Someday Maybe (1996) followed, introducing "Cigarette" and "Mercury", respectively.

In 1995, Blasey's first solo album, Don't Try This at Home, was released. It was recorded at Studio L in Weirton, West Virginia.[3]

Blasey's second solo album, Shine, was released in 1999. Blasey appeared on Donnie Iris and the Cruisers' ninth studio album, Together Alone, on which he sang guest vocals on "Amazing Grace." (Read more here)

    Who is Justin Fabus?

For starters, he’s a proud Pittsburgh, PA native, show-stopping singer, and eloquent songwriter—but that only scratches the surface (barely). Operating on his own terms and completely outside of the system, he’s managed to quietly establish himself as an impactful independent artist, selling out shows and topping various charts. With coveted co-signs from the likes of Richard Marx and Donnie Wahlberg as well as widespread acclaim courtesy of The Boot, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and more, he continues to reveal precisely who he is through a growing catalog…

“I’m an artist who doesn’t belong in a box and doesn’t take shit from anybody, but always does the unexpected,” he exclaims. “At the same time, I aim to deliver high-quality, soulful, and heartfelt music. I promise no one will ever outwork me either,” he adds with a smile. Read more here.

    Hi, I'm Kristin. I’m a songwriter, a dancer, and a community builder.

This year, I released two albums. The Bright Siders: A Mind of Your Own was ten years in the making, and I couldn't be more proud of the music and the message within. Featuring an all-star cast of guest singers (The War & Treaty, Ed Helms, Gaby Moreno, Punch Brothers, Kaia Kater, Oh Pep!, and more...) and released on the Smithsonian Folkways label, this music will hopefully reach every pair of ears that is wisely listening for empowering ways to talk about mental health with their kids and their grownups. I recommend finding the CD or vinyl version for illustrations and liner notes including "Try this at home..." parenting tips from my brilliant co-creator, child psychiatrist Dr. Kari Groff.

My other new release was two days in the making, and I love it just as much in its own way. Jefferson Hamer, Lauren Balthrop, Lawson White and I set up some gear in my neighbors’ garage and when the recordings were done, we called ourselves – and the album – JKLOL. (READ MORE HERE)

Gareth Pearson is referred to as “The Welsh Tornado” which is particularly appropriate, seeing as this special talent combines fingerstyle pyrotechnics, with explosive lead runs making Pearson one of the most exciting acoustic musicians gigging today.

Gareth has a distinctive style that can be heard through his creative and innovative arrangements which cover a wide spectrum of genres, including country/folk/classical/pop/rock/jazz/swing and bluegrass music, along with his own beautiful and often intricate original compositions.

Drawing his playing style initially from influences such as Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel, he has developed a style that is both inspiring and entertaining.

Within a year of taking up the guitar, Gareth was opening for Tommy Emmanuel on his 2005 UK tour. It was in Cardiff where Tommy invited Gareth to play at the CAAS convention (Chet Atkins Appreciation Society) in Nashville Tennessee.

Later that year, Gareth was performing and touring alongside Ray Davies (The Kinks), John Renbourne, and Southside Johnny and the Ashbury Jukes. During the Southside Johnny tour, Gareth was invited by Southside to be flown over to the USA to open for his annual New Years Eve concert at the Count Basie Theatre in New Jersey.

The following year Gareth was invited by Tommy Emmanuel to be the support act for his UK tour, following extensive UK supports to Jan Akkerman, Andy McKee and appearing at numerous Folk Festivals and Guitar workshops including the Montreal Jazz Festival.

With appearances throughout Europe and a growing reputation, Gareth was invited to perform at the 2008 Canadian Guitar Festival where he came to the attention of Candyrat Records. This lay the seed for Gareth to be the first UK guitarist to be signed by the label. On its release, Gareth’s debut album “Urban Echoes Vol 1” was selected by Acoustic Guitar editors and frequent contributors as one of the “Essential Acoustic Albums of 2010”.

With Appearances at the 2009 Montreal Guitar Festival, USA and Worldwide tours and Guitar workshops, Gareth’s reputation as a performer and teacher is constantly growing.

A decade ago, Four-headed funktronic giant LITZ began leading listenerson energetically-charged adventures through feeling and sound. As theysharpened their showmanship and songcraft in the Maryland jam scene,LITZ ventured forth, opening for names like Papadosio and Lotus whileadding Electric Forest, Resonance, and Peach to their festival accolades. The foursome–Austin Litz (keyboards, saxophone, vocals), Logan Litz(bass), Dan Gallerman (guitar), and Nick Thrasher (Drums)--are constantlyproducing new tracks that defy categorization musically andmetaphysically. Combining funky horn riffs, wah-wah keys, pounding bass, flute, and sensational guitar, they curate a sound that isn’t decisively funk, jam, go-go, or soul but irrefutably and exquisitely LITZ.On stage, LITZ are custodians of the audience’s dreams, fears, and hopes.Their mesmerizing synergy and improvisation inspire authentic connection, reminding us that music, more than a sound, is a feeling. No two LITZexperiences are identical. As they riff and take risks, LITZ rocks theiraudiences’ senses and souls, pulling listeners into new realms of emotion.Ecstatic introspection, laughs with friends, and dances shared withstrangers are equally part of the LITZ odyssey.

Contemporary saxophonist, author, and music producer Jackiem Joyner has set the bar high in his nearly two-decade-long career as a performer. With a number one jazz album, numerous Billboard chart-topping hits, and a series of critically acclaimed books to his name, Joyner has proven himself a rare artist capable of transcending his instrument and captivating mainstream audiences.

Now, as he enters the 18th year of his career amid unprecedented change in the entertainment industry, Joyner remains as dedicated to his art as ever.

“No matter how difficult things become, I’ll never stop doing what I love: playing the sax, writing music and stories, and performing live.”

Born in Norfolk, VA, Joyner demonstrated restless creativity from an early age, a trait that would later define his career. Despite his humble upbringing, he managed to acquire a saxophone as a child, which quickly became his constant companion. After years of practice, he made his debut with 2007’s ‘Babysoul.’ A masterclass in seductive smooth jazz, the album marked the arrival of a brilliant instrumentalist, paving the way for a prolific recording career that included Grammy runner-ups, hit singles, and abundant critical acclaim, extending through 2019’s ‘Touch’ and 2020’s EP, “Journey of Passion.”

As a performer, Joyner has toured over 30 countries and shared the stage with legends such as the late George Duke, Marcus Miller, Keiko Matsui, Donnie McClurkin, Angela Bofill, Najee, Kirk Whalum, Peter White, and many others.

    About Consider the Source:
    WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | INSTAGRAM

Consider the Source announces a tour of intimate, seated performances in support of their recently released Acoustic/Electric Hybrid Album. For the first time ever, the band will be taking out their collection of acoustic instruments from around the world in addition to their signature axes to perform the album in full plus more. Many of these instruments will be new sights and sounds for western crowds. CTS cites Central Asia as an influence on this album in addition to the Eastern European, Turkish and Indian music they have been exploring their whole career.  Be sure to secure your tickets in advance for this one of a kind live musical experience.

More about CTS & the Hybrid album…

Sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source began in the underbelly of NYC performing improvisational heavy sets soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles. Once the band realized they had something truly original they decided to take it on the road leading to 15 years of touring the U.S. in addition to Israel, Germany, Turkey and a trip to India. Their studio catalog has evolved into a wide range of progressive rock, classical, jazz and Eastern European music mixed with many other styles from around the world. The band’s sound is always evolving and has led them to constantly chase something new and exciting.

Consider the Source is living a purpose, a life together, having fun and creating art. Their most recent release is titled Hybrid Vol. 1 | Such As A Mule, a reference to the mix of electric and acoustic tracks. The album brings the full CTS exploration, with an additional host of instruments –  Uyghur Dutar, Banjo Bass, Dabuka, Dombra, Ukulele Bass, Djembe and more. It’s a strange thing to bring in a term like ‘Post-World Music’, but perhaps it is the best way to describe what is happening here. Consider the Source is not a world music band playing eastern European or Middle Eastern music, they are students of music and culture respecting the vast tradition and taking it into the 21st Century and beyond. This cultural fusion might also be a good descriptor, but in the end these terms fall short in describing the power and creativity at play here. (READ MORE HERE)
