Joe Torry was inducted into the hall of fame in 2006 with legendary comedians such as Richard Pryor, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bill Cosby and having planted an indelible mark on the world of comedy as a former host and featured comedian on HBO’s Russell Simmon’s Def Comedy Jam.

Torry is currently writing his book entitled The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly.  The manuscript details Joe’s journey through life, the entertainment industry and the many people who have impacted in his career and personal life.  He hopes that his book will impact the lives of other upcoming comedians and entertainers by sharing what the business is really like and avoiding some of the same mistakes he made. Torry says “I came into this business doing and saying things I should not have like offending people who held the power in Hollywood.”.

Torry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Broadcast Journalism from Lincoln University, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Torry also received an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters for his work in the Entertainment Industry and Community Service from his Alma Mater and was inducted in his Schools Hall of Fame and National HBC Alumni Hall of Fame sharing the honor with remarkable human beings such as Thurgood Marshall, Langston Hughes, Samuel L. Jackson and many other notable individuals.

As a humanitarian and philanthropist, Torry established “Giving Back The Love Foundation” to sponsor youth programs in his hometown, St. Louis, MO. In the last fifteen years, the foundation has assisted in mentoring over 30,000 children and families on the importance of health care awareness and education.  As a result of his leadership in the community, Torry was chosen to represent the mid-west and to be the first to accept the 2004 Olympic Torch for the historic international event in which Jackie Joyner Kersee was last to carry the torch before it left St. Louis and traveled to New York City.

Kristin Key grew up a minister’s daughter in a small town in West Texas. Much like Footloose, she was raised in a no-drinking, no dancing, no instrumental music environment, so she immediately took up drinking, dancing and playing an instrument. Proving that the almighty has a strange sense of humor, Kristin came out of the closet at 15. Needless to say, it did not go well. So, Kristin decided to “take it back”, retreat back into the closet, and try a little harder to be straight.

At 19, Key signed up for an open mic at the local comedy club. As soon as she got onstage, she felt right at home. Though her observations and wit made her a local favorite, she remained in the closet, fearful of losing her local fan base. Small shows in the Texas panhandle turned into 35 states worth of comedy over the next 5 years.

When NBC’s Last Comic Standing held their auditions in Austin, Texas, she stood in line hoping for a chance to be seen. After 7 hours of waiting, she got her chance and her ticket to Hollywood to compete with the best in the comedy world. At the end of the season, she stood among the final six and watched as her fan base exploded.

Kristin is most recognized for her appearances on NBC with her TV debut on Last Comic Standing and her recent performance on Bring the Funny. Her social media videos have over 25 million views and Kristin has over 275,000 followers. She currently hosts the Kristin Knows Blank podcast. Additional credits include: Comics Unleashed, VH-1’s 100 Greatest Series, The Bob and Tom show, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Key has recorded five full-length stand-up comedy albums and one studio music comedy album.

    About the Artist:
The term “gotta laugh to keep from crying” could easily be any comedianʼs mantra but for one Louisiana transplant, Comedian Rodney Perry, the tracks of his tears have been a passionate journey to the top of his game which has led him to laugh out loud at all his naysayers. Born in Chicago, His teacher noticed Rodneyʼs funny nature and made a deal with him. If he would “shut up throughout the course of the day” he would be given an opportunity to perform for his classmates. Rodney found his early comedy stride while living in Monroe Louisiana. As he graduated from high school Rodney was also given the news that his first daughter was on the way. Perry then made a decision that would affect him for years to come, he joined the U.S. Navy. He says “How could I ask my mom to take care of me and my child? I had to grow up, I had to become a man in a hurry”.
His first job in Hollywood was serving as writer/warm-up guy for Kym Whitleyʼs BET show “Oh Drama”. During this time, Rodney opened for acts like George Lopez, Cedric the Entertainer and Steve Harvey.
Perry calls Atlanta home when heʼs not traveling the country to sold-out audiences or hosting his highly popular online radio show, Rodney Perry Live. His career has opened up many doors for him, from his work as co-host of “Whoʼs Got Jokes” or BETʼs “MoʼNique Show”, to his starring role as Harold in “Tyler Perryʼs Madeaʼs Big Happy Family”. Even though Perry is a sought out Actor/Host, he still remains a comedian at heart. He is currently preparing for his ‘made for TVʼ comedy special entitled “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and can also be seen every Tuesday night as the current Host of Bounce TVʼs “Off the Chain”!
