She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans after the death of her sister, Tilly.

 

When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. This high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

The Arianna String Quartet has firmly established itself as one of America's finest chamber ensembles. Their performances have been described as “radiant from the first moment,” (A.M. News, Léon, Mexico) with “emotional commitment, fluent virtuosity, and poetic vision” (Pretoria News, South Africa). The Arianna String Quartet is celebrating 22 years of performing for the ECC community. Pianist Jennifer Judd will join the quartet performing Piano Quintet No. 1 by Ernst von Dohnányi.

This spooky season, join us at the East Central College JEA Performing Arts Center for a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with LIVE Shadowcast by Flustered Mustard.  Eager to do The Time Warp? Great! We can't wait to have you! Never seen it? Throw on your mother's high heels and fishnets, 'cause you're in for a treat!

The longest-running midnight movie of all time stars Tim Curry as the kinky yet endearing “transsexual from Transylvania” Dr. Frank N. Furter, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as his hapless guests Brad and Janet, Meat Loaf as motorcycle-riding rough trade and author Richard O’Brien as the hunchbacked butler Riff Raff. It’s harmless musical fun—a delightful spoof of Hollywood horror movies and Old Dark House melodramas. Become a part of the movie by shouting out lines with the cast as well as throwing props to mock the action on screen. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was the first—and is still the best—interactive movie experience!

Dressing up is HIGHLY encouraged! Rocky Horror isn't Rocky Horror without the corsets and lipstick.

Each ticket includes a Prop Bag ($5.00 Value) with all the necessary items for the evening. For the safety of everyone involved, outside Prop Bags will *NOT* be allowed at the screening. Pat-downs will happen at the door, so please use common sense (dangerous items will not be allowed in). The cast will have a whole slew of t-shirts, stickers, buttons, and other items for sale as well.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Early Music Missouri presents “The Intimate Brandenburgs,” a performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti 4 & 5. Just as musically complex and exciting as the larger works in this collection, these two concerti feature small ensembles with only three solo instruments. Featuring Baroque violins, recorders, Baroque flute and harpsichord, the ensemble will offer entertaining and ear-opening versions of these masterworks. In addition, East Central College Choir will join the EMMo period instrumentalists to sing one of Bach’s famous chorales from his cantatas.
