The Youth Orchestras of Charlotte presents “Isn’t it Romantic?” - a concert of music from the pre-eminent composers of the 19th century on Monday. The YOC is the premiere orchestra for serious high school musicians in the Charlotte region and provides high quality musical training for dedicated orchestral players. At this concert, the YOC’s own Eli Chen will be the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Wagner’s Introduction to Act 3 of Lohengrin starts the evening, and after intermission stay to hear Dvorak’s Carnival Overture, the Intermezzo from Pagliacci of Cavallo, and the thrilling Sabre Dance by Kachaturian. The YOC Flute Choir opens the program, and finally, YOC alumni join the orchestra for two pieces: Verdi’s Triumphal March and Orgia from Danzas Fantasticas by Turina.   All sales final. No refunds.
