PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The Love Like Ledsome Memorial Ride & Concert has come to life to honor beloved Josh Ledsome, a young man taken from this world far too early in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was out enjoying a ride on his Harley-Davidson Softail when a car failed to yield and pulled out in front of him costing him his life.  He leaves behind his adored mother, Kathy and daughter, Juleigh as well as countless family members and friends who love and miss him tremendously every day.  The mark he left on the live music and motorcycle communities will never be forgotten.

Josh lived his life as a live music and motorcycle fanatic and most importantly with a pure heart of gold for the people he loved.  Since his passing there has been story after story told of Josh’s kindness and giving ways.  He would buy extra concert tickets or merch to gift to those who couldn’t purchase them on their own.  He’d give the shirt off his back and literally did at a concert for a sweet girl dear to his heart named Kinsley, who continues to battle brain cancer.

Love Like Ledsome Memorial Ride & Concert hopes to bring honor to Josh by relieving some of the financial burden brought to his family after his passing, while bringing awareness to #looktwicesavealife and learning to live more like Josh Ledsome.  Any extra funds raised will go to a college fund for Juleigh.

Details: We will ride Josh’s normal route in his honor, beginning by meeting at his home on Wade St. in Norfolk, VA at 8:30am (kick stands up at 9am!) and ending in Manteo, NC on the Outer Banks (2.5hr ride) where the concert will be held at Roanoke Island Festival Park. We will post the exact ride route closer to the event and have checkpoints for others to join in along the way.
Gates at Festival Park open at 1pm~Music starts at 2pm.
Music by LNJ Sessions, Vibes Alive, Ground Level, Last Resort, Mustang Outreach Bands-our local "school of rock" and More!

Come celebrate his beautiful life with us!

VusicOBX Welcomes The Good Vibes Summer Tour 2022 to the Outer Banks!
Rebelution
Founded in Isla Vista, CA, Rebelution has followed their instincts since the release of their breakout 2007 debut, Courage To Grow. In 2009, the band topped the Billboard Reggae Chart for the first of what would be five consecutive #1 records; and in 2017, they garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Reggae Album. Rebelution’s transcendent live performances, meanwhile, have earned the group sell-out headline shows everywhere from Red Rocks to The Greek Theatre, along with festival slots at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, ACL, Glastonbury, and more. Their latest album, In The Moment, is deliberate and wide-ranging, infusing the quartet’s soulful, exhilarating brand of modern reggae with addictive pop hooks, alt-rock grit, and hip-hop grooves. The performances here are bold and self-assured, and the production is equally ambitious, drawing on swirling reverb and trippy delay to create an immersive sonic universe that’s both futuristic and vintage.

Steel Pulse
Bearing witness to the accelerating negativity of global affairs, UK reggae legends, Steel Pulse, emerge with musical vengeance to halt the disarray of humanity. Their newest album, Mass Manipulation, reflects four decades of bettering mankind through music. The debut single “Stop You Coming And Come” features ancient melodies paired with catchy lyrics, transporting the mind to a period of time where secrets of an African dynasty are unmasked. As reggae revolutionaries, Steel Pulse is revered by the younger generation of artists and remains a powerhouse on stages around the globe. Through the example of Mass Manipulation, Steel Pulse demonstrates the endless possibilities that come from breaking down the walls of systemic greed, and nurturing the fellowship of mankind.

DENM
With the release of his genre-hopping debut album, Slum Beach Denny, it’s time to add DENM to the storied list of Southern California’s musical ambassadors.  Make sure to get to the show early and catch DENM's My Wave and energy that will surely get you moving!

DJ Mackle will be keeping us grooving, spinning some positive vibes in between sets.

Rain or Shine Event.  No Refunds.

Stick Figure concerts are gatherings distinguished by audience sing-alongs, hard hitting bass, extended improvisational interludes, the mind-manifesting hues of a light show, and the much-anticipated entrance of the band’s canine mascot, a rescued Australian Shepherd, Cocoa The Tour Dog, who has her own 501(c)3 charity and her own beer collaboration, the aptly named Cocoanut IPA. The show becomes a family gathering that spans across age and demographic, coming together for good vibes and music.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Genre-bending band Whiskey Myers have played more than3,000 live shows to ever-increasing crowd sizes since their emergence in 2007. Their self-produced fifth studio album, WHISKEYMYERS, out now on the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records, debuted at No. 1 on both the Country and Americana/Folk sales charts, at No. 2 on the Rock chart and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The self-titled project follows their previous album, Mud, which reached No. 1 on the iTunes Country chart with single “Stone” hitting Top 10 all-genre. In total, Whiskey Myers have sold more than 1.2million albums and amassed over 1.5billion streams while earning three RIAA Gold certifications. USA Today describes the band led by front man Cody Cannon as “a riff-heavy blend of Southern rock and gritty country that has earned comparisons to the Allman Brothers Band and Led Zeppelin,” with Rolling Stone noting “it’s the seminal combination of twang and crunchy rock & roll guitars that hits a perfect sweet spot.”  The band known for their high-energy live show and unique sound has also earned sync success with features (and an appearance) in Paramount Network’s hit show “Yellowstone” as well as the Renée Zellweger-led Netflix series “What/If”, the Angelina Jolie film “Those Who Wish Me Dead” and hit CBS series “SEAL Team”.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
We had so much fun with the Dirty Heads last summer so we're bringing them back along with friends SOJA, Tribal Seeds and Artikal Sound System

Following in the footsteps of their California brothers Sublime, Huntington Beach's Dirty Heads mix hip-hop, reggae, and rock along with that laid-back So Cal attitude. The group formed in 2003 when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) asked his friend, rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J), to collaborate on a project that would focus on positive vibes and infectious grooves. Watson added singing to his vocal skills, and with percussionist Jon Olazabal, an acoustic trio version of Dirty Heads began playing shows and building an audience.

Nearly two decades ago, SOJA began as high school friends in a D.C. area basement teaching each other to be musicians and play roots reggae music. Today, the 2x GRAMMY-nominated eight-piece band, with over 7 million online followers and over 300 million Youtube views, headlines concerts all over the world for their massive dedicated fanbase. Even with their continued success, SOJA always wants to remember their time together in that basement inspired by each other’s contributions and ideas...“We’re going back to our roots and what we do best,” Jacob says. “We’re remembering why we started this band and the magic of what we’ve built. We were lucky enough to create our own family and we picked every brother by hand"... For SOJA, everything is about connection, whether it's with the world around them or within the band. “Nothing worth doing in life can you do by yourself,” Jacob notes. “We’re in this together.”

Based in San Diego, rock-reggae band Tribal Seeds come at their music from a different angle, more influenced by bands like Steel Pulse and Aswad than the common touchstone of Sublime. Formed in 2005 by the Jacobo brothers, singer Steven and producer Tony-Ray...Tribal Seeds have toured throughout the United States, and have also performed in Mexico, Aruba, Tahiti & Peru. They have shared the stage with artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, Skrillex, MGMT, Cee Lo Green, Jason Mraz, Matisyahu, Sublime with Rome, Taking Back Sunday, O.A.R., Pretty Lights, Steel Pulse, The Wailers, Julian Marley, Stephen Marley, Gregory Isaacs, SOJA, Rebelution, Pepper, and many more.

Artikal Sound System is a reggae band based out of South Florida. Founded by Chris Montague (guitar) and Fabian Acuña (bass) in 2012, the band honed their chops backing a series of Caribbean singers. Along the way the boys picked up the insane and absurd keys player Christopher Cope and the heavy footed drummer Adam Kampf before finally trying something a little sonically different with their neighbor, female vocalist Logan Rex. After nearly a decade of playing together the boys sound tight and powerful, creating the perfect foundation for their jazz-influenced singer to dance around on lyrically and literally. What you hear is the sound of friendship, hard work, imagination and the hope to spread their message of love and the importance of having a good time.  *VUSIC ALERT!!!!  DO NOT MISS THIS OPENER

VusicOBX welcomes Greensky Bluegrass with The Wood Brothers to the Outer Banks this summer!

Greensky Bluegrass- Since their 2000 formation in Kalamazoo, MI, the quintet—Anders Beck [dobro], Michael Arlen
Bont [banjo], Dave Bruzza [guitar], Mike Devol [upright bass], and Paul Hoffman
[mandolin]—have unassumingly progressed into a phenomenon on their own terms with the
undying support of a devout audience. Rolling back and forth across North America on
successive tours, they recently sold out 3 nights at Red Rocks, a feat unheard of in their genre.
During 2019, All For Money marked their second #1 debut on the Billboard Top Bluegrass
Albums Chart and third straight Top 3 entry. They’ve also earned critical acclaim from Billboard,
Parade, NPR, and Rolling Stone who hailed them as “representing the genre for a whole new
generation.”
As always, the band embrace tradition, while ushering bluegrass forward on their eighth
full-length offering, Stress Dreams.
“Greensky is and always has been very unique in our world,” observes Paul. “We put our love,
energy, and focus into what we appreciate about our music. We come together as a band in a
way that’s organic. We take a lot of pride in how we grow and challenge each other too. We’re
maturing together. I think we get more Greensky all of the time.”
“We just can’t wait to play shows, hug our friends, and play music with other musicians we love
and respect,” Paul concludes. “Besides, we’ve got 13 new songs to add to the set list!”

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
VusicOBX welcomes Slightly Stoopid to the Outer Banks, on their Summer Traditions 2022 Tour with friends Pepper and Common Kings!
The story of Slightly Stoopid, at its core, is one of brotherhood. It’s the story of Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, two musicians determined to succeed on their own terms, creating a multi-genre fusion of rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, American folk, metal, and punk. It’s the story of a duo that has not just survived, but thrived, as “brothers from other mothers”- keeping true to their authenticity, throughout two decades of relentless touring, and evolved songwriting. The duo has repeatedly created lasting artistic statements despite a music industry that too often prioritizes style over substance.
Slightly Stoopid is and continues to be a musical brotherhood that always welcomes guest musicians and the art of collaboration. Doughty and McDonald remain unwavering in their principles of independence, honoring their diversity of influences and mentors, and furthering their inherited legacy of the Southern California sound. “Once we found music as a form of expression, as an outlet, we did whatever it took to survive,” said McDonald in a 2018 interview. “We are who we are-a product of Southern California. And, we are where we are in life because of how passionate we are about the music.”
