    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

John Michael Montgomery has turned an uncanny ability to relate to fans into one of country music's most storied careers. Behind the string of hit records, the roomful of awards and the critical and fan accolades that have defined his phenomenal success lies a connection that goes beyond his undeniable talent and his proven knack for picking hits. Since the days when "Life's A Dance" turned him from an unknown artist into a national star, John Michael’s rich baritone has carried that most important of assets--believability. Few artists in any genre sing with more heart than this handsome Kentucky-born artist.

It is readily apparent in love songs that have helped set the standard for a generation. Songs like “I Swear,” “I Love the Way You Love Me” and “I Can Love You Like That” still resonate across the landscape--pop icon and country newcomer Jessica Simpson cited “I Love The Way You Love Me” as an influence in a recent interview. It is apparent in the 2004 hit “Letters From Home,” one of the most moving tributes to the connection between soldiers and their families ever recorded, and in “The Little Girl,” a tale of redemption that plumbs both the harrowing and the uplifting. It is apparent even in the pure fun that has always found its way into John Michael's repertoire--songs like “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident),” where John Michael's vocal earnestness takes musical whimsy to another level.

The family band played on weekends throughout the area, and John Michael and his brother Eddie eagerly soaked up everything about it.

The hits followed steadily, with songs like "Rope The Moon," "If You've Got Love," "No Man's Land," "Cowboy Love," "As Long As I Live," "Friends" and "How Was I To Know" establishing him as one of the elite acts of the era. He received the CMA Horizon award and was named the ACM's Top New Vocalist, setting off a long series of awards that included the CMA's Single and Song of the Year, Billboard's Top Country Artist, and a Grammy nomination. Heavy touring meant he kept the close touch with fans he had begun in the clubs back home.

"You get to know your fans and what they like more and more through the years," he says, "and you kind of gravitate towards one another."

Indeed, he has always had an extraordinarily close relationship with his fans, and they have stayed with him through good and bad times.

Asked what he thinks gave him the edge in a career that calls millions but gives stardom to just a few, he pauses, then thinks back to the legacy of his parents.

"I reckon it was good genes and good blood," he says with a smile. Few who know the depth and breadth of his own growing legacy would disagree.

Straight from a Country song – two guys meet and start a band, realize the same girl broke their heart, and then make a spur-of-the-moment decision to hop in a car fueled on neon dreams en route to Nashville – but no, this is the real-life story of LAKEVIEW.

Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy make up the Nashville-by-way-of-Pittsburgh duo, infusing Country soul, Rock scope, and Pop ambition, into a singular style rooted in old-school storytelling and elevated by carpe diem attitude and edgy.

Their no regrets introduction to the genre comes by way of “work hard, play harder” anthem, “Poor Me,”  and red flag-raising knockout, “Eyes Closed” – both tagging Denaro and Healy as co-writers and co-producers. Cody Quistad (X) co-penned “Poor Me” with LAKEVIEW, as Kevin Bard (Dan + Shay’s #1 hit “How Not To”) joined the pair as a co-writer on “Eyes Closed.”

Originally from just outside New York City, Denaro was raised by musicians – as his mom was a piano teacher and his dad played the drums. Taught the drums by age 3 and later mastering the keys, he began performing live at 12, including playing worship at church until he was 22 years old. Healy, a native of Pittsburgh, relates to the same homegrown love of music, claiming, “It’s really special how that played a huge role in my life and I didn’t even realize at the time that my dad was basically teaching me how to write Country music – when he didn’t write music at all.” Healy further explains,

LAKEVIEW is grabbing the attention of critics with Country Now dubbing them the “next big act in Country music” and being featured on The Boot’s New Songs You Need to Hear list. And they’re just getting started.

When country music newcomer Drake Milligan moved from Fort Worth to Nashville, he didn’t just come here to sing. He came to listen. At just 19 years old, armed with an appreciation for the history of country music, Milligan listened in co-writes and recording sessions, where songwriters taught him how to tell a story, legendary producers taught him how to use the mics and studio as a vehicle for his voice, seasoned musicians were willing to back the new guy, and his country music heroes shared insightful advice on how to seamlessly shift from the studio and the stage --letting things snowball from there. Now at 23 years old, having taken inall that wisdom, he’s ready to introduce himself to the world with the release of his debut EP,Drake Milligan. It was Milligan’s intent to pen every song on his first release, but he knew that he’d be better off if he didn’t go at it alone. “Word got around, and I was invited into more and more co-writes, and finding my own sound was what that was all about.”“I wrote for the last three years. I write every day. You realize when you get to Nashville that you have to write thousands of songs before a really good one comes out,” he says. That’s where his heroes came in. Milligan was able to book writing sessions with industry legends like Bill Anderson(Brad Paisley, Conway Twitty, George Strait), Dean Dillon(Chris Stapleton, George Strait, Kenny Chesney),Monty Criswell(Josh Turner, Trace Adkins, Tanya Tucker), MarvGreen(Billy Currington, Brooks & Dunn, Lonestar), Paul Overstreet(Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, Ronnie Milsap),Terry McBride(Easton Corbin, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams Jr.) and Brice Long(Jon Pardi, Gary Allan, Randy Houser). “The reason I came to Nashvilleis because all of my heroes are here. All the guys who wrote and played on my favorite songs are still so good. They wake up every day and want to write the best song they can. I wanted to learn something from every write. Writing with those songwriters was a rite of passage for me,” Milligan says. “Seeing how excited Bill and Dean and the others are about writing songs was so inspiring to me.” “We all get here with a different set of influences. Mine were mainly George Strait and Elvis. Along with a lot of Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, and George Jones. That’s what my mom and dad listened to, so my earliest music memories came from that,” he says. “As I was writing, I learned that the best sad songs are bittersweet and even a little hopeful. I love that tradition in country music: how sad songs can help you feel understood. That’s the magic, because not everything in life is sunshine and rainbows.”Once the songs were written, it was time to find a producer. Milligan enlisted the award-winning music producer and industry iconTony Brown(Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Vince Gill) and songwriter/producer Brandon Hood. Brown first discovered Milligan’s talent as a performer when he saw him portray Elvis Presley in the 2017 CMT TV series Sun Records, an adaptation of the Tony-winning musical Million Dollar Quartet.

Shayne Hill is the not-so-new “new guy.” Shayne joined the band in June of 2004—after rehearsing with the band once. Once. Yes—he was that good.

Shayne grew up on the road playing music. His family had a band and they toured all across the Western U.S.—with Shayne playing even more instruments than he does today. But no—he will not play fiddle for you. We’ve already asked him.

Once moving to Nashville, Shayne toured with Chely Wright, Avalon, and LeAnn Rimes, just to name a few. He is also an in-demand background singer and guitar player. And since he needs just a little bit more to do, he has his own recording studio—where he can be found whenever one of his kids isn’t crying…and sometimes even when they are.

Shayne and his wife Kristin have two children, Jesse and Harper—they are cute like their mama.

Joe Smyth never met a percussive instrument he didn’t like—and he can play them all. The band’s original bio stated that Joe played 300 percussive instruments—a number that Hobie made up, but still swears by.

Joe is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and earned a Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Miami—but he doesn’t rub that in the other guys’ faces. That speaks volumes about him.

In addition to being a sought-after session drummer, Joe is accomplished symphonic musician, as well. He has played with the Nashville Symphony, including at their heralded appearance at Carnegie Hall.

Joe is also a respected percussion instructor, doing his part to nurture the next generation of drummers and percussionists.

Joe is the proud dad of Tristan, Jenna, and Bryce.

Gregg “Hobie” Hubbard was born and raised in Apopka, Florida—The Indoor Foliage Capitol of the World. So there.

There was never a time Hobie can remember that he wasn’t listening to—and by listening we mean obsessed with—music. He grew up attached to the radio and record player—and is still rarely very far from either one today…although the record player looks more like an ipod these days.

Hobie sang and played piano in church through his high school years and began writing songs when he was in college. He has co-written several of Sawyer Brown’s hits, including “The Dirt Road,” “Drive Me Wild,” “’Round Here,” and “Outskirts of Town,” as well as several songs on the Sawyer Brown Christmas albums. In addition to Sawyer Brown, Hobie has sung background on recording sessions for a variety of artists.

Hobie gave up a promising career in the food services industry to join the band. He might or might not still have the smock.

Mark Miller was born in Ohio, but moved to Florida when he was in eighth grade. Growing up, he played basketball, went to the beach, worked at Walt Disney World, and went to school—pretty much in that order. He was on the basketball team at the University of Central Florida when he started writing songs, finally deciding to move to Nashville to focus on singing and songwriting. The move worked out okay.

Mark has written many of Sawyer Brown’s hits, including “Step That Step,” “The Walk,” “Thank God for You,” “The Boys and Me,” as well as the band’s anthem: “Some Girls Do.”

Mark discovered the band Casting Crowns and has produced all of the band’s CDs, winning a Grammy for his work with them along the way. In April 2013, “Ring the Bell,” a movie that Mark wrote and produced, was released—and he has more movies in the pre-production stage. He doesn’t sleep much.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Just 22 years old and already a seasoned veteran of Nashville’s elite songwriting community, Conner Smith has become one of Country’s most hotly-anticipated new artists – an uncommon talent mixing prime-of-life passion with old-soul perspective. After penning his first song at 6 and scoring a publishing deal at 16, the Country prodigy wrote five of the six songs on his Zach Crowell-produced 2022 debut collection DIDN’T GO TOO FAR (The Valory Music Co.). Featuring his first Top 40 hit “Learn From It,” viral smash “I Hate Alabama,” and GOLD-certified fan-favorite “Take It Slow,” the charismatic effort laid an artistic foundation that earned Smith 2022 Artist to Watch status from Spotify, Amazon Music and Opry NextStage, while also making him the only Country artist on Pandora’s Ten List 2022 and securing 2023 recognition from MusicRow Next Big Thing, CMT Listen Up, and more. As Smith continues to grow up in full view of his fans – both on the page and the stage – CMT calls him “an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.” That momentum will keep building throughout 2023 as Smith continues to deliver “next level” music as reflected with his new bluegrass-inflected twang rocking single “Creek Will Rise,” currently rising at Country radio. Recently touring alongside Thomas Rhett, Parker McCollum, Ryan Hurd and Chase Rice, he just headlined his first-ever IF I WENT TO COLLEGE TOUR featuring multiple sold-out stops. Up Next, Smith takes on CMA Fest in Music City with a set at the Chevy Riverfront Stage on June 11 before hitting the road as support on Luke Bryan’s COUNTRY ON TOUR beginning in July, followed by Cole Swindell’s TWELVE TOUR for select dates in the fall. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit ConnerSmithMusic.com.
