Country music fans are in for a rare treat when Cash is King brings back the musical explosion that was Johnny Cash. Cash was a classic with a songbook of hits that resonate with the hooks and lyrics that were pure Cash -- "Folsom Prison Blues", "I Walk The Line", "Ring Of Fire" and many more. Johnny Cash, his full band and June Carter can be experienced thanks to the ultimate tribute show Cash is King Johnny Cash is portrayed by the spot-on Brian Chicoine who will amaze as he sings, plays and tells the story of Johnny Cash's life. His voice bears an uncanny similarity to that of the legendary singer -- the closest thing to the original that can possibly be. With period costumes, cover versions of Cash classics and between-song banter, this event captures the essential Johnny Cash. Vicky St. Pierre plays June Carter to perfection.

Long before Boy Named Banjo, two of the founding members of the genre-bending band grew up a mile down the road from each other in Nashville. William Reames and Willard Logan both picked up the guitar at an early age, took lessons from the same teacher in town, and even played in the same middle school band together.

A shared love for bluegrass, folk, and singer/songwriter music sparked a different musical friendship for Reames between him and banjo player, Barton Davies. Before long, the two youngsters enthusiastically bounced songs off each other and discovered some of their favorite bands like The Steeldrivers, John Hartford, and The Infamous Stringdusters. In no time at all, they were writing and performing songs of their own, and at the age of 16, they decided to form their own band. Only, they needed a mandolin player. That's when they called Logan - and the two longtime friends, and now Davies, were bandmates once again.

"We were still too young to step foot inside a bar when we first started to play," Davies recalls, "so we'd set up shop on the sidewalk outside of Robert's Western World in downtown Nashville and play our own songs for whomever would listen." According to Davies - about halfway through one of their sets, a man came stumbling out of Robert's, got in Barton's face and yelled "play that thing, Banjo Boy! C'mon, Banjo!" Reames texted Davies later that night - "Boy Named Banjo."

With a brand new name and a bunch of original songs, the trio recorded The Tanglewood Sessions, an honest, emotional, roots-driven look into the lives of the young outfit. Unexpectedly, the album was received quite well and now has over 3 million streams on Spotify.

In 2013, BNB invited drummer Sam McCullough to join the group, before recording its sophomore album, Long Story Short (2014). The band got its first breakthrough by earning a spot on the 2015 Bonnaroo lineup, which led to some hometown love for the native Nashvillians. Shortly after releasing Lost on Main EP in 2015, Boy Named Banjo found its missing piece - Ford Garrard (bass), hit the road, and hasn't stopped touring since.

Boy Named Banjo's sound has grown up alongside them into an energetic blend of country, alt-rock, and folk-pop that will keep listeners smiling, clapping, and dancing along. Catch a live show and find out for yourself.

Warm as summer sunshine, real as the truth, intimate as a long overdue visit between old friends … such is a Jonathan Edwards concert.  Four decades into a stellar career of uncompromising musical integrity, the man simply delivers, night after night – songs of passion, songs of insight, songs of humor, all rendered in that pure and powerful tenor which, like fine wine, has only grown sweeter with age.

This is one veteran performer who is neither grizzled nor nostalgic.  These days Jonathan is likely to be found on the road. I’ve been…doing what I do best, which is playing live in front of people. I’ve been concentrating on that and loving it,” he says.

An artist who measures his success by his ability to attract and take good care of an audience for four decades, Jonathan maintains that it is the feedback he receives after his shows that keeps him going.  “It is really gratifying to hear [someone say], ‘Your stuff has meant a lot to me over the years.’”

The “stuff” he’s referring to is a highly respected repertoire that includes such classics as “Honky Tonk Stardust Cowboy,” “Sometimes,” “One Day Closer,” “Don’t Cry Blue,” “Emma,”  “Everybody Knows Her,” “Athens County,” and everyone’s favorite ode to putting a good buzz on, “Shanty.”  And then, of course, there’s the anthemic “Sunshine (Go Away Today),” that fierce proclamation of protest and independence that resonated with thousands and thousands of frustrated and angry young men and women when it was first released in 1971.  Almost 40 years later, at show after show, the song continues to be embraced by faithful followers and new fans alike.

Robyn Hitchcock

Robyn Hitchcock is one of England’s most enduring contemporary singer/songwriters and live performers. A surrealist poet, talented guitarist, cult artist and musician’s musician, Hitchcock is among alternative rock’s father figures and is the closest thing the genre has to a Bob Dylan (not coincidentally his biggest musical inspiration).

Since founding the art-rock band The Soft Boys in 1976, Robyn has recorded more than 20 albums as well as starred in ‘Storefront Hitchcock’ an in concert film recorded in New York and directed by Jonathan Demme.

Blending folk and psychedelia with a wry British nihilism, Robyn describes his songs as ‘paintings you can listen to’. His most recent album is self-titled and marks his 21st release as a solo artist. Out on April 21 2017, the album is produced by Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs). Hitchcock describes it as a “ecstatic work of negativity with nary a dreary groove.”

It has received rave reviews from UNCUT, Rolling Stone, Paste, Tidal and more.

“A gifted melodist, Hitchcock nests engaging lyrics in some of the most bracing, rainbow-hued pop this side of Revolver. He wrests inspiration not from ordinary life but from extraordinary imaginings…” – Rolling Stone

“These 10 gems slither, rock, roll, glide and shapeshift, coalescing around Hitchcock’s typically anxious, strained but striking and immediately identifiable vocals.” – American Songwriter

“Beloved of everyone from Led Zeppelin to REM, Hitchcock has only enhanced his status with this wonderful outing.” – Hot Press

“Witty, moving and seriously catchy, Robyn Hitchcock is a glorious return for a man who wasn’t really gone in the first place.” – Paste Magazine

The band is based out of Berkshire County, Massachusetts playing original and traditional blues with hints of jazz, soul, funk and tent revival gospel since 1999. The band has recorded and shared the stage with Charles Neville and opened for contemporary blues artists like Tab Benoit, John Primer, Albert Cummings and Michael Powers. Misty Blues performs extensively throughout New England and has toured New York City, Harrisburg, Mishawaka, Knoxville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, Clarksdale, Memphis, New Orleans and Ontario Canada. In the summer of 1999 Gina Coleman was performing in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of A Raisin In The Sun. That production featured the acting of Ruben Santiago Hudson, Viola Davis, Kimberly Elise and Gloria Foster. Coleman was casted as a gospel singer. Nearing the end of the show’s run, Ruben Santiago Hudson gave Coleman a cd collection entitled Men Are Like Streetcars. He told her that her voice was well suited for the blues and urged her to take that next musical direction. Coleman heeded his advance, and after 20 years, Misty Blues has stood the test of time.

American Songwriter describes Eilen Jewell as “one of America's most intriguing, creative and idiosyncratic voices”. The Boise, Idaho songwriter is truly one of a kind. Since 2006, Jewell has performed on festival stages from Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia to California’s Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Her music has earned accolades from NPR, BBC, Rolling Stone and MOJO as well as from heads of state (Former British Prime Minister David Cameron ) and Hollywood actors (Tom Hanks).

Accompanying her all over the world for the last 15 years has been Jerry “Cold-Blooded” Miller. Miller’s solos are legendary. But it’s the textures, soundscapes and magic that he weaves throughout Jewell’s songs that have been a signature sound to her music.

Jerry Glenn Miller has been playing and studying guitar since his childhood in Nashville, TN, later earning a degree in guitar performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Miller has played blues, country, rockabilly, folk, jazz, and surf, touring and recording with artists such as Freddy Fender, Sonny Burgess and Billy Lee Riley. He also toured for 10 years with Bluestime, fronted by Magic Dick and Jay Geils, and has performed several times as part of B.B. King's BluesFest.

Jewell and Miller share a passion for music of the past: classic country, raw blues and gospel as well as folk and singer-songwriters from the 1960s. They also share a love of space between the notes in the music they create. Miller has often said he has enjoyed playing Jewell’s songs more than anyone else’s material. Indeed, the colors and tones that he creates are a major part of this music.

While the band will continue to tour (dates are booked through summer, 2022), the idea of Jewell and Miller touring as a duo has been percolating for some years now. They are excited to present this intimate performance of their well-loved music to stages for the first time.

Bad Bad Hats are an indie rock trio from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Known for bringing a joyful, exuberant presence to their live shows, touring with The Beths, Margaret Glaspy, The Front Bottoms, Hippo Campus, and Third Eye Blind, the group took specific care to bring their fun-loving spirit to their third LP, Walkman

Kerry (guitar/vocals), Chris (bass), and Con (drums) let their collective hair down on Walkman, bringing raucous and explosive riffs alongside witty lyrics. Though you might not notice from their indie rock exterior, Bad Bad Hats draws a heavy influence from classic pop songwriting that shines through in their hooky choruses and strong melodic sensibilities.

For this release the band set out to push their capabilities as a trio. Subtle changes in process helped the band achieve this goal, such as shifting Chris from a wider multi-instrumental role to allow him to prioritize his bass playing, having Kerry record the bulk of the guitars instead. “You can hear all of our musical voices a lot better on this record.”

A carefully crafted studio sound brings the record to life, injecting it with an energetic voice that is unique to Bad Bad Hats. Walkman is the group’s fourth time working with producer Brett Bullion, including their previous two LPs, Psychic Reader and Lightning Round, and the Wide Right EP.  Bullion and the band use the studio as an instrument, resulting in their most polished work to date.

THE AIRPLANE FAMILY reunites Jefferson Starship, Grateful Dead, Hot Tuna, Bob Weir’s Rat Dog, David Crosby Band, New Riders & JGB alumni to perform the 50th Anniversary of Paul Kantner’s Jefferson Starship masterpiece of science fiction & Rock & Roll…“Blows Against the Empire.” Originally planned for Fall 2020, worldwide passionate fans of this music and recording have had their wishes granted as we all look forward to ‘normalization’ following a year and a half of pandemic mitigation and shutdowns.

“Blows Against the Empire” marked the debut of the Jefferson Starship moniker, though not of the band of that name itself, since it predates the actual formation of the band Jefferson Starship by four years. The album was recorded at Pacific High Recording Studios and Wally Heider Recording Studios in San Francisco. The result derives from a period of cross-collaboration during late 1969 through 1971 by a collection of musicians from various San Francisco bands including Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young recording at the same time in the city. These musicians included Paul Kantner, Grace Slick, Peter Kaukonen, Jack Casady, Joey Covington, David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Graham Nash & others.
THE AIRPLANE FAMILY will perform the 50th Anniversary of “Blows” as a 2 ‘act’ (set) theatrical extravaganza, reprising the album in its entirety, with ‘other music’ and ‘accompanied by multi-media associated with the collaborative efforts explored by Airplane, Dead, CSNY back in 1970. Long time Paul Kantner (from KBC through 2016 Jefferson Starship) lead guitarist Slick Aguilar (who also played withCrosby in the 1980s), Mike Falzarano (Hot Tuna & NewRiders), Grateful Dead’s Tom Constanten and his band Live Dead 69 with Rat Dog & Phil Lesh member Mark Karan and drummer Pete Lavazzoli who currently performs with Oteil Burbidge and with JGB for 12 years, shall also appear. Acclaimed female vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Clare Maloney will add the Grace Slick vocals. As much of the support musicians comprise LIVE DEAD ’69, acclaimed for brilliant 1969 pivoted improvisations of the halcyon Grateful Dead repertoire, fans are in store for an extra treat as the band performs their own, separate set.

Midge Ure OBE (born James Ure on October 10, 1953 in Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, Scotland) is a pop and rock and roll musician from Scotland, known for his particular success as a guitarist and singer-songwriter in the 70s and 80s. His stage name, "Midge", is a phonetic reversal of his real name, "Jim". Beginning his career in the pop rock band Slik, he would go on to play for power poppers Rich Kids and temporarily for Thin Lizzy.

Things kicked into high gear when he replaced John Foxx as the singer of the famous electronic music group Ultravox in 1979. Shortly afterwards, the New Wave band had a huge U.K. hit with "Vienna", and it became one of Britain's most popular groups for several years. As well, later that year, Ure also formed the band Visage. In 1980, Ure and Thin Lizzy leader Phil Lynott co-wrote Lynott's biggest solo hit, titled "Yellow Pearl". A re-recording of the song done in 1981 was used as the theme for 'Top of the Pops', a music-centered television series.

In 1984, Ure co-wrote, with Bob Geldof, the Band Aid hit, "Do They Know It's Christmas?". He was one of the few featured stars who did not sing solo on the recording. The following year, Ure scored his one and only solo U.K. number one single with "If I Was", a wistful track that's since been considered his 'signature song'. This was followed by an album titled 'The Gift'. With Ure's mind clearly on other matters, Ultravox took second place and soon dissolved.

Ure's solo career continued into the 90s with sporadic success. However, "Breathe" was an international hit single, helped by its inclusion in a TV advertising campaign for Swatch watches. Ultravox songs with his work remained popular among many electronic music fans.

Ure more recently organized the Live 8 concerts with Bob Geldof with the aim of pressuring G8 leaders into following his recipe for ending world poverty. In 2005 he was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to music and charity.
