The Boxmasters release “Light Rays” After completing their 2019 “Speck” Tour in the fall, The Boxmasters’ Bud and J.D. did as they ordinarily do and went back to the studio with a few songs and started recording. Another album titled “Boxmasters ’66” was already finished before the tour, so with only the idea that the new songs would be a followup to that the recording process began. Drawing upon the sounds of the Vox Jaguar, Mellotron and Farfisa keyboards The Boxmasters formed their 9th release “Light Rays.” “Boxmasters ’66 was our album that took mid ’60’s garage-rock as its underlying influence and so we wanted to follow it up with an album that took a later ’60’s direction. And after we were done we decided that “Light Rays” should be the next release and “’66” we would try to release in conjunction with the 2021 ‘Record Store day’ says J.D. “Also “Light Rays” is the first album that Bud and I recorded without any outside collaboration. We recorded a few songs at Barefoot Recording where they had a vintage Vox Jaguar and I played it on the songs and it just had such a distinct sound that we were totally knocked out by. It has a sound that blends into a track in a way that modern reproductions can’t do.” “Light Rays” starts off the album with the first track and single “Breathe Easy,” a breezy pop song that any parent can relate to. “It’s a song to my daughter Bella explaining why I’m so over-protective.” says Bud. Says J.D. “As a father myself, I totally related to the lyric and it is the only time I’ve cried when I read a lyric that Bud sent me.” Other highlights from “Light Rays” include the title track about a man in a mental institution singing to the object of his infatuation and “Satellite Guy” which is a track influenced by The Boxmasters’ love of the legendary Los Angeles band War. “Learn to Be,” a song about rejecting the learning of hate and discrimination was the first song that J.D. wrote on the piano. “I started this song on the piano at Henson Recording during the first session we had after a good friend and mentor of mine had passed away. I started several melancholy songs and the chords that became “Learn to Be” were something that I just couldn’t stop playing.” “Come What May” is the lone song that J.D. and Bud did not write. “‘The Yardleys’ were a local band where I grew up that were my heroes. They recorded a couple of singles and this song was written by Larry Byrd and Bucky Griggs when they were around 16. We loved it and wanted to keep it very similar to what The Yardleys did on their original.” explains Bud. “Light Rays” will be the first album that The Boxmasters have released that won’t have a tour based on it to support the release due to the Coronavirus. A European, Canadian and U.S. tour was booked for the summer of 2020 but has been postponed until the summer of 2021 which was a first for The Boxmasters. “We’ve always talked about touring Europe and we’ve heard from many fans over the years that they would love to see us. So we were very excited about the opportunity to play our music in front of a lot of different audiences that haven’t heard us live before.” says J.D. Formed in 2007, The Boxmasters have recorded an impressive and diverse catalogue of music that touches on their love of a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960’s.

As the world plummeted into the COVID-19 pandemic, the four members of Black Stone Cherry were nestled deep in the woods of Kentucky, scrambling to complete their 7th album. There, they could feel the disease closing in as they watched the news daily, and it became apparent the album they were finishing featured lyrics that were eerily prescient. The resulting 13-track record is broadly emotive, and anthemic. It was finished just before the global lockdown was imposed, and it’s aptly titled, The Human Condition.

“There was a real urgency and fear of the unknown during those sessions—it was a scary time,” recalls drummer, John Fred Young. “Every song on this album tells a story of the experiences we all go through—our happiness, our struggles, and how we have to adapt.” Sonically, The Human Condition is also one of BSC’s most visceral and hooky albums. Adds guitarist/vocalist Ben Wells: “With this one, we cranked up the amps, the drums are in your face, and there are some really heavy riffs. After 19 years and 7 albums, we wanted to prove that we still kick ass. This album feels like a rebirth.”

In the past two decades, Black Stone Cherry has set a new standard for Southern rock, revitalizing the tradition with burly riffs and stirring rock hooks. Since their formation in 2001, the four-piece brotherhood has remained Chris Robertson, vocals/guitar; Ben Wells, guitar/vocals; Jon Lawhon, bass/vocals; and John Fred Young, drums.  Though not blood relatives, the guys grew up together, immersed in the culture of shit-kicking rock n’ roll. Young's dad Richard, and his Uncle Fred, are two founding members of the iconic country-fried rock n’ roots band The Kentucky HeadHunters, and the high school-aged boys came up bashing away on their instruments in the group’s notorious Practice House, a 1940s bungalow.

The four-piece band have blazed their own way in establishing a legacy. In the US, BSC’s last album, Family Tree, debuted at #8 in the Current Rock Albums, #4 at Current Hard Music, and #21 Top Current Album. The band’s 3 previous studio albums have cracked the Top 10 in the UK. Family Tree hit number 11 in Germany’s album charts, the highest position ever for the group in the country. Onstage, Black Stone Cherry has both headlined and rocked 12,000-cap arena shows and shared the stage with a diverse roster of superstars, including Alter Bridge, Theory of a Deadman, Def Leppard, Gov’t Mule, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Mötorhead, and ZZ Top. In 2018, BSC performed in front of 100,000 people at Download Festival as main support to Guns N’ Roses. The guys also have the added distinction of being the musical spokespeople for the Professional Bull Riders Association, they have recorded the organization’s theme song, and members of BSC frequently appear at PBR events.

Raised in Northern California, Tyler Rich found his love of music gathered around a Christmas tree alongside family singing holiday classics and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fast forward to graduating college with a degree in Economics, Tyler moved to LA to pursue a different game of numbers – music – exploring various genres with songwriting and bands before taking the leap as a solo artist. His fanbase has grown organically from Sacramento to Nashville where in 2017 he signed a record deal with The Valory Music Co. and publishing agreement with Big Machine Music. While introducing his amplified sound and infectious energy coast to coast, the 2018 CMT Listen Up and 2019 Pandora Artist has toured with Brett Young, Justin Moore, LANCO and Dustin Lynch, plus shared bills alongside Sam Hunt, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay and more. Enlisting Tyler as one of their “10 New Country Artists You Need to KnowRolling Stone touts him as “the newest member of country music’s radio-minded incoming class, with a homecoming king’s swagger and a valedictorian’s songwriting smarts.” SiriusXM chart-toppers GOLD-certified single “The Difference” and “Leave Her Wild” set the tone for his debut album TWO THOUSAND MILES, a reference to the distance between Los Angeles and Nashville as both he and his wife, actress Sabina Gadecki chased their dreams and embraced a bi-coastal relationship. While inspiration has been specific, the collection reflects feelings all people have in common – the needs for acceptance, devotion and places to call their own.  Visit TylerRich.com for updates or follow on Instagram and TikTok.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Hard rock should exist outside of the system. It should break the mold. It should burn through
expectations.
Through Fire most certainly does.
The Omaha, NE quartet—Justin McCain [lead guitar, songwriter], Grant Joshua Kendrick [lead
vocals], Kyle LeBlanc [bass], and Grant Brooks [drums]—fuses hard-hitting riffs, electronic
provocations, and contagious melodies. As a result, this impactful, immediate, and infectious
fusion defies categorization and incites energy as boundless as the style itself. Additionally, the
approach transformed the quartet into a phenomenon with chart-topping radio successes and
over 20 million Spotify streams and 48 million YouTube views in under two years.
Now, the same fire fuels the band’s second full-length for Sumerian Records.
“There are no limitations to what we do”, says Justin. “From a songwriting standpoint, I wrote
this album with no boundaries. I wanted great, timeless songs. I wasn't going to settle for
anything less.”
They set the stage to take such action on their full-length debut, Breathe. Not only did the
breakout single “Stronger” clock millions of streams and spend 26 weeks on Billboard’s Rock
Charts, it also spent five weeks at #1 on Octane’s popular Big Uns Countdown. Proclaimed
“Breakout Artist of the Year,” Sirius Octane named “Stronger” among the Top 3 songs of the
year, placing them in a league of their own next to none other than Metallica and Highly
Suspect. On iTunes, Stronger quickly went to #1 and outsold the bulk of bands in the Hard Rock
and Heavy Metal genres. The single soundtracked various mixed martial arts matches for NBC
Sports and the Stanley Cup Finals. It also served as the theme for WWE’s Backlash.
Their second single “Breathe” repeated this success, landing the band their first top 10 single at
rock radio and then reaching #1 on Billboards Mainstream Rock Indicator Recurrent Chart.
Reclaiming the top spot, “Breathe” also ascended straight to #1 on Big Uns Countdown. As the
band crisscrossed the country on tours with Seether, Fozzy, Nonpoint, Sick Puppies, Black Stone
Cherry and performed at festivals such as Chicago Open Air, Louder Than Life, Sonic Boom, and
Rock Fest, among many others, they amassed a fervent fan base which helped them continue
to sell an impressive amount of singles.

Justin started architecting Through Fire’s next chapter. As the producer, Justin—along with his
engineer Alex Gozza—spent every day and night in Omaha’s Make Believe Studios. In this place,
they built the sonic framework for what would become the band's highly anticipated
sophomore album.
They introduce this era with the primal and powerful “All Animal.” Baring its claws and teeth,
the tune tempers gnashing riffs with ominous electronics as Grant’s howl hits hard.

“I was just describing what it felt like to snap,” Justin explains. “When Someone keeps pushing
you to the limit, that’s when you become all animal. The human side shuts off. Everyone has a
breaking point”.
“All Animal” is just one of many big anthemic songs on this album. Their story as trailblazers
ultimately continues as they maintain a place at the forefront and carve their name in the
hearts and minds of fans all around the world.
“We put everything into this album, and we can't wait for the world to hear it,” he leaves off.

Heavy metal certainly has no shortage of rebels. It seems like everybody's rebelling against something, and that's part of the genre's allure. However, the most rebellious thing anybody can do is hold steadfast to personal beliefs and never waver. Stryper indisputably do both.

They're not shy about their Christian beliefs, but they're also consistently as heavy as any of the genre's pillars. Following up 2013's seminal opus No More Hell To Pay, which debuted at #6 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums Chart and #2 on the Christian Albums Chart, their eleventh full-length original album, Fallen [Frontiers Music SRL], is their heaviest offering to date.

"In the past 30 years, we've evolved into what we are now," says vocalist and guitarist Michael Sweet. "This is what we always really wanted to be. I love the progression. The story of Stryper is that of an underdog. We go against the grain with everything we do.

In a landscape littered with celebrity fakes and would-be influencers, ICE NINE KILLS stand apart. Visionary trailblazers and multimedia raconteurs, INK has steadily built a thrilling new underworld for a growing legion of devoted true believers, with theatrical shows, high-concept videos, and inventive band-to-fan communion.

Ice Nine Kills summon the most captivating elements of metal, punk and hard rock and combine it with melody, cinematic obsession, and a literary fascination.

Loudwire hails them as “one of the most unique acts in metal right now,” a declaration supported by the band’s Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart topping slab, The Silver Scream. 13 songs of devilishly devious odes to classic horror, The Silver Scream generated anthems for the disenfranchised and subculture obsessives, like “The American Nightmare,” and broke them into Active Rock radio.

After a decade of studio wizardry and live theatricality, ICE NINE KILLS draws favorable comparisons to rock icons like Slipknot, Rob Zombie, and Marilyn Manson, via a likeminded synergy of music, lifestyle, and cult following reverence.

ICE NINE KILLS is at the forefront of the natural crosspollination of subcultures. “Heavy music and horror are both escapes from our mundane struggles,” singer Spencer Charnas points out. “You could be having the worst day, then you put on a great metal record or horror movie and forget about all of your problems.”

Melissa Etheridge stormed onto the American rock scene in 1988 with the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, which led to an appearance on the 1989 Grammy Awards show. For several years, her popularity grew around such memorable originals as "Bring Me Some Water," "No Souvenirs" and "Ain't It Heavy," for which she won a Grammy® in 1992. Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am (1993). The collection featured the massive hits, "I'm the Only One" and "Come to My Window," a searing song of longing that brought Etheridge her second Grammy® Award for Best Female Rock Performance. In 1995, Etheridge issued her highest charting album, Your Little Secret, which was distinguished by the hit single, "I Want to Come Over." Her astounding success that year led to Etheridge receiving the Songwriter of the Year honor at the ASCAP Pop Awards in 1996.

Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Etheridge has remained one of America’s favorite female singer-songwriters for more than two decades. In February 2007, Melissa Etheridge celebrated a career milestone with a victory in the “Best Song” category at the Academy® Awards for “I Need to Wake Up,” written for the Al Gore documentary on global warming, An Inconvenient Truth. As a performer and songwriter, Etheridge has shown herself to be an artist who has never allowed “inconvenient truths” to keep her down. Earlier in her recording career, Etheridge acknowledged her sexual orientation when it was considered less than prudent to do so. In October 2004, Etheridge was diagnosed with breast cancer, a health battle that, with her typical tenacity, she won. Despite losing her hair from chemotherapy, Etheridge appeared on the 2005 Grammy® telecast to sing “Piece of My Heart” in tribute to Janis Joplin. By doing so she gave hope to many women afflicted with the disease.

The Lacs w/ Demun Jones & Dusty Leigh

You and I both know that America has been through a lot these past few years. Clay Sharpe and Brian King know it better than most. But as The Lacs, they've had a unique view of where we've been, where we're going - and what parts of our identity haven't changed at all.

On American Rebelution, their aptly titled sixth album, The Lacs take all that they've witnessed, roll it up in a unique sound they call "dirt rock" and lay down the truth as they see it. Yes, these 12 tracks stand on the hip-hop/country/Southern rock bedrock Clay and Brian pioneered along with a handful of other innovators. But that's just the beginning of this story.

Nearly 20 years ago, these proud sons of Baxley, Georgia, unleashed their first beats and ripped through their first rhymes. Since then they've headed down highways far from the hometown dirt roads, watching landscapes roll past on the way to their next shows. Over time their venues got bigger, their audiences more diverse. They still play the mud parks for their longtime fans, but lately they've noticed differences in the crowds they're drawing.

"We've really noticed how our crowds are growing. That's awesome," Brian rumbles over the phone from their bus, en route to wherever joint he and Clay will be rockin' in a few hours. "It feels great when people come up and say that because of our music they went to a mud park for the first time. I'm like, 'Don't you wish you'd done it years ago?'"

He laughs, a gully-deep chuckle as Clay jumps in. "It's definitely no disrespect for anybody that don't live our lifestyle, but this is us and everybody who comes to our shows is just like family. We've learned a lot from our fans over the past few years."

Much of what they've learned courses throughout American Rebelution. The soul of The Lacs is right where it's always been, front and center in their music, infused by pride in their country, love for their family, an inclination toward rowdy celebration and an unexpected tenderness when it comes to the ladies in their lives. What's different is how they color these qualities, with a wider palette than they've ever used before.

"This album was different because we used four different producers for the first time," Clay explains. "We realized that you can't just stay with the same sounds forever. You can't stay one-dimensional. You've got to evolve. It's a fine line to walk while still being true to yourselves."

They walked that line without a misstep. A stinging electric guitar lick and mellow electric piano on "Redneck As Me," old-school steel and fiddle on the romantic "One More," retro organ and front-porch banjo on "I'm Good," an electronic pulse punctuated by the ominous click of a gun being cocked on the title cut - The Lacs have widened their scopes but stayed focused on what they believe.

"There's always gonna be old-school country fans that ain't ever gonna accept rap," Clay notes. "But the people who do give this music a chance, it can touch them in a way they've never experienced before."

Which takes us back to the top: America has been through a lot recently. But all of the changes we've weathered have only sent us back toward the things that endure, the beliefs that anchor us and tie us together. The Lacs have always known that. That rings truer than ever throughout this American Rebelution.

With a refreshed lineup and newfound energy, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band remains one of the most accomplished bands in American roots music.

Following an extended 50th anniversary tour, the ensemble grew to a six-piece in 2018 for the first time since their early jug band days. The group now includes Jeff Hanna (acoustic guitar, electric guitar), Jimmie Fadden (drums, harmonica), Bob Carpenter (keyboards), Jim Photoglo (bass, acoustic guitar), Ross Holmes (fiddle, mandolin), and Jaime Hanna (electric and acoustic guitar). All six members also sing, and when their voices merge, the harmonies add a powerful new component for the legendary band. And with the father-son pairing of Jeff and Jaime Hanna, the band carries on a country music tradition of blood harmony.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played their first gig in 1966 in Southern California as a jug band and by 1969 had become a cornerstone of the burgeoning country-rock community. Their career breakthrough came in 1970 with the release of the record Uncle Charlie & His Dog Teddy and the single “Mr. Bojangles,” a folksy Top 10 pop hit  that remains a staple of their live show. During a tour stop in Nashville around that time, Earl Scruggs and his family came backstage to say hello. That introduction led to a friendship and some of the connections the band needed to record Will the Circle Be Unbroken. That three-disc album brought Nitty Gritty Dirt Band together with a number of country, folk, and bluegrass legends. Heroes like Roy Acuff, Mother Maybelle Carter, Jimmy Martin, Merle Travis, and Doc Watson joined the scruffy, young band to record country music standards such as “I Saw the Light” and “Keep on the Sunnyside.” The acclaimed project is considered a landmark recording in American music.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band earned a pop resurgence in 1980 with “An American Dream” and “Make a Little Magic.” Those singles also found traction on the country chart, setting the stage for a major run at country radio. The band secured 16 Top 10 country hits between 1983 and 1990, including three No. 1 singles: “Long Hard Road (The Sharecropper’s Dream),” “Modern Day Romance,” and “Fishin’ in the Dark.” Bernie Leadon, a founding member of The Eagles, played in the band from 1986 to 1988 filling a vacancy by longtime member John McEuen.

At the peak of their country career, the band toured Europe with Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, who hinted that they’d love to appear on a sequel to Will the Circle Be Unbroken, if the band ever decided to make one. That gesture convinced the band to get back in the studio to record another all-star album. Circle Volume II featured Johnny and June, as well as Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Levon Helm, John Hiatt, Bruce Hornsby, John Denver, Ricky Skaggs, New Grass Revival, and many other marquee names – not to mention encore performances by Roy Acuff, Jimmy Martin, and Earl Scruggs. Released in 1989, the album won three Grammys and a CMA Award for Album of the Year.
