"I was adopted from the Children’s Home Society in Greensboro seventeen years ago. As I have grown up I decided I wanted to give back to the place that was able to give me a home and give back to those who were not as fortunate as me to gain a home to grow up in. With the amazing family I was given, I have found that it is easy to take for granted the things that many others may not have the opportunity to experience, one of these things being shopping for college with my parents. While I myself will not be going to college until August of 2023, there are many kids who went sooner, are going now but will not get to go shopping with their parents for what they need and I would like to help them have what they need to be prepared for going off to college.  I realized how lucky I was to have been adopted and decided to start Manda’s Move in to make a difference and emulate the college move in and shopping experience to a degree to minimize the emotional and financial struggles that come with the transition from early adulthood in high school, to adulthood in college. I started creating care packages including new towels, sheets, blankets, pillowcases, silverware, and dinnerware sets as well as other helpful items to assist these teens in their journey to adulthood. In my first year I was able to help ten teens from the Children’s Home Society of Greensboro with full care packages, raise $800, and donate other items for those who needed them. I hope to expand my program to help out other locations of the Children’s Home Society in the future.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The Friends of High Point Theatre are proud to announce that this year’s Triad Has Talent is a slightly different format than in previous years.  This year there will be local artists/acts showcasing their talent.  The competition will take place as audience members will select who they thought gave the best performance. 

Some of the artists for this year include: Stewart Coley, a singer and guitar player who is featured frequently at local venues. Jack Gorham, a keyboardist and vocalist who performs original songs that are heartfelt, and often humorous.  The Polk Duo: Miranda and Kasey Polk provide soulful and inspirational rhythms and outstanding vocals.  Travis Wilson will bring his saxophone stylings that have made him a local hit throughout the Triad. Guilford, featuring Parker Webb and Hannah Webb Ward a duo that sings and plays inspirational music from bluegrass to gospel.

As a bonus, the audience will get to choose their favorites by voting for the artists in the lobby during intermission and after the performance.

It has been through a few changes over the years but has evolved into one of the largest touring dog acts in the world, with up four touring units serving the United States and Canada.

Stunt Dog Productions currently offers three full-time traveling teams, both offering the same high-energy frisbee dog shows mixed with mind blowing dog tricks, incredible stunts, audience participation, and much more. Each show has been written and created by Chris Perondi. Every show is extremely visual, scripted, has seamless transitions, choreographed to music, professionally presented on the microphone, and features the most talented stunt dogs, trick dogs, and frisbee dogs in the world!

The Perondis’ mission is to promote pet adoption, responsible pet ownership, and educate on the importance of spay and neutering. During every show they take time to share their mission and encourage everyone to spend more time with their pets at home.

As the official North Carolina stop of their 50 States Tour, Letters From Home will bring back the style of the USO with a high-energy performance featuring Erinn Dearth and Dan Beckmann! This duo has performed over 900 shows across the United States for veterans and their families, and performed at the 75th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France.

The show is filled with singing, tap dancing, knee-slapping jokes, and audience interaction that make up a spectacular performance geared towards uniting the nation through music.
