A graduate of Miami’s School Of Music, Euge launched his professional career in Miami in the mid-80s, playing in salsa bands, Top 40 club bands and doing the occasional high-profile session date like Expose’s “Seasons Change,” a #1 Billboard AC hit. In 1987 he moved to L.A., wrote a track for Richard Elliot’s The Power of Suggestion and Elliot recommended Euge to take over his spot in Tower of Power. Euge toured with TOP for four years, including a year backing Huey Lewis & The News. He went on to record, tour or perform with the likes of Joe Cocker, The Eurythmics, The Gap Band, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, Aaron Neville and Richard Marx (that’s Euge’s horn on “Keep Coming Back,” a #1 AC hit duet he recorded with Luther Vandross). In 1999, Euge started recording his own material, dubbing himself Euge Groove, and posting his music on the now-defunct MP3.com website; downloading started almost immediately and Euge was soon topping the MP3.com Jazz chart. He signed soon thereafter with Warner Bros.
Euge Groove has garnered a devout following with his irresistible mix of danceable grooves, mind-bending hooks, R&B-infused melodies, and inspired solos. Having collaborated with everyone from Tina Turner Elton John and Bonnie Raitt to Tower of Power and Aaron Neville, Euge Groove is never short on inspiration.
Through the years, Euge’s love of Jazz, R&B, Gospel, and Blues have all come together to inform his personalized sound.
Euge Groove further asserts himself as a vital force in the continuum of Contemporary Jazz and promises he has no intentions other than to Groove On!

Tim Smith, bass
Roddy Smith, guitar
Tim Gordon, saxophone and flute
Mark Stallings, keyboards
Donnie Marshall, drums
Shelly Ruffin, guest vocalist
If the name Smith and the city of Charlotte ring a bell musically, it is because the Smith legacy started there in 1950 when guitarist Arthur Smith, and his two brothers, Ralph and Sonny, became the musical face of the brand new television station, WBTV. Arthur became one of the most innovative and imitated guitarists in the world, eventually penning two of the largest selling instrumentals of all time, Guitar Boogie and Dueling Banjos. “Brother” Ralph became a household fixture as part of the group, and as one of the faces of Bost Bread. He was a beloved entertainer and comedian, and the father of Tim and Roddy, both destined to follow in the very large Smith footsteps.
Mr. Groove started in 1986 under the name Side 1. It started as a duo with bassist Tim Smith and guitarist and brother Roddy Smith. Armed with the latest in technology, they created background tracks and sequences and began playing at venues all around the Carolinas. A chance meeting with vocalist Darryl Johnson led to the formation of a very powerful and popular trio. In addition to performing live, all three members were in-demand studio musicians which led to growing from the trio to a six piece band including Donnie Marshall on drums, Mark Stallings on keyboards, and Tim Gordon on sax. There were many other musicians who performed along with the band including drummer Tony Creasman, saxophonist John Alexander, keyboardist David Zeltner, and others. With the Smith brothers move to Nashville, they continued to record with some of the foremost musicians in the world, including drummer Keith Carlock (Steely Dan), percussionist Lenny Castro (Toto, John Mayer), saxophonists Bill Evans (Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra), Mark Douthit (Michael McDonald, Larry Carlton), and Ed Calle (Grammy winner, Arturo Sandoval), pianists Martin Bejerano (Roy Haynes) Jim Beard (Steely Dan, Michael Brecker), and Sony Latin vocalist supreme Roxana Amed, among others. The current Mr. Groove project title “Meadow Park” includes of the past and current members of the group, and is a stunning collection of melodies, grooves, and some amazing improvisation.

Bob Baldwin is an American Pianist/Composer/Arranger/Radio Host/Inventor. The Mt. Vernon, NY native has recorded on six of the seven inhabitable continents, and while Antarctica is not on his recording bucket list, his short international list, including Dubai, Brazil, South Africa, Spain, UK, Canada, is quite impressive. "Whether it's a massive festival crowd of 30,000 or an intimate restaurant audience of less than 60, I refuse to rob my audience of great music, top-notch effort and a good personal experience", says Baldwin.
He’s been coined by industry peers as the “Ray Charles of Contemporary Jazz”, having owned all but seven of his 34 solo recordings. He claims that ownership has helped to sustain him throughout the current pandemic era.
His Radio program, NewUrbanJazz, established in 2008, celebrated its’ 700th consecutive weekly radio program on February 28, 2022.
The pianist's personal goal is to release a 12-song project per year, and since 1988, he has released over 34 projects, of which 27 are owned by his company, City Sketches Records (distributed by The Orchard/Sony Music). Discs #35 and 36 are in the works.
His current 2021 release, "The UrbanSmooth Suite" was a vocal extravaganza with various vocalists Monica Mason, Regina Troupe, Toni Redd and others as well as Earth, Wind and Fire original Ralph Johnson on drum on the uptempo "Dance 3000”.
What's next? Well...funny you should ask. Bob Baldwin is re-writing and updating his book, “You Better Ask Somebody”, and will go in a little deeper on subjects like music streaming and the lowdown on Croton Jazz.
