Still Crazy is a band of accomplished North Carolina musicians performing some of the greatest work from the iconic and influential singer songwriter, from his hits with Simon and Garfunkel to the songs from his masterful solo albums. Join us as we celebrate the music of Paul Simon.

Morgan Davis - drums, percussion

Morgan has a well-deserved reputation as a serve-the-song musician who has performed with national and international recording acts, with such artists as Ben Folds, CJ Chenier, David Ball, and Dave Adams, Countdown Quartet, including US and European tours. His drumming has elevated the recordings of countless artists and been heard on major motion picture soundtracks.

Bobby Patterson - bass, vocals

Bobby Patterson is a superb bassist and vocalist who’s toured the world as leader of Columbia recording artists Dag, and played and recorded  with many artists including Glass Moon, My Three Sons, Go There. He has been profiled in Bass Player Magazine.

Tim Smith - woodwinds, vocals 

Tim is a masterful multi-instrumentalist who’s lent his musical gifts to countless performances and recordings Hobex, Orchestra GarDel, Squirrel Nut Zippers, and many more.

Sam Frazier - guitar, vocals

An acclaimed singer/songwriter, Sam has released two solo albums, performed and recorded with Martha Bassett, Bruce Piephoff, Mary Lyon, and shared the stage with such luminaries Joan Armatrading, The Funky Meters, The Del McCrory Band, The Neville Brothers.

Mark Simonsen - keyboards

Mark is a highly respected multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer known for his performing and recording work with The Old Ceremony, Tom Maxwell and the Minor Drag, The Dead Tongues and many others.

Roger Gupton - guitar, vocals

Roger is a songwriting guitarist, bassist and vocalist who’s toured and/or recorded with Hotel Lights, Jeanne Jolly, The Backsliders and Caitlin Cary, among others. He’s toured the United States multiple times, performed on the Conan O’Brien show, and has co-written and performed on music featured in television and major motion pictures.

For more than 30 years Eric Mintel is an acclaimed jazz musician with his group the Eric Mintel Quartet. By later at night Eric Mintel investigates the paranormal.  Eric was invited to perform twice at the White House for President Clinton in 1998 and for President Obama in 2011.  He was also invited to perform at the Kennedy Center over ten times from 1999-2005 and also had a special concert at the United Nations in 2010.  He has toured and performed around the country in concert halls, high schools, libraries, elementary schools, churches, jazz clubs and many more venues.  Eric has been on television performing his music as well as being interviewed.  

Eric and spirit medium Dominic Sattele were recently featured on the cover of American Paranormal magazine (Jan/Feb) 2023. Eric has also had stories written up on his paranormal activities by numerous newspapers and has been featured on many radio stations and podcasts across the country and around the world.  Interested in the paranormal from a very young age Eric has lead Eric Mintel Investigates since 2016 seeking out strange stories to tell whether it’s ghosts, UFO’s, Bigfoot or Dogman sightings. Fans of his music have eagerly followed him into the paranormal world.  On many an investigation, Eric and his team have captured ground breaking video footage and captured strange paranormal activity the likes of which have never been seen.  Watch on You Tube and Network TV.

Born in early 2019, House of Funk was conceived by Charlotte guitarist Stefan Kallander as a monthly night for the funk lovers of the Queen City where hips could move to the sounds of funk classics and deep cuts. The band features some of Charlotte’s finest musicians: Courtney Gibson, Jesse Lamar Williams, Zach Wheeler, Braxton Bateman, Simon George, and Stefan Kallander, in addition to monthly sit ins and features of other stunning artists from the deep well of Charlotte Funk. The series began to grow throughout the next year until our favorite runt cousin Covid 19 took center stage. But now House of Funk is back!

Benson, Herbie Hancock, and Kirk Whalem. A native of New York City, Springer has recorded on such labels as Atlantic, Transparent and Verve/ Forecast. Springer, a first-alto, boasts a versatile and sultry style known to transport audiences from church pews to Delta juke joints to downtown jazz cafes. Her latest album, The Acoustic Project, is an eclectic collaboration with guitarist and songwriter Greg Cagle.

Brandon Stevens is the rare vocalist with the ability to glide from classic Soul, to Funk, to modern R&B and Pop, with ease and conviction. Since the mid-2000s, his smooth, silky voice has carved its own space in the hearts of audiences from the U.S. to Europe.

Growing up in Columbia, South Carolina, Brandon became enamored with writing songs and playing piano by the time he was a teenager. While earning a degree in graphic design from Winthrop University, he realized that music was his true passion, and quickly became a campus favorite at talent shows and open mics. Following college, Brandon formed the R&B/Hip-Hop band Mellogroove with two of his undergrad classmates. In 2019, the band was honored by the City of Rock Hill, South Carolina as a Historic Musical Group.

During a ten-year stint with renowned Soul/Beach music group Chairmen of the Board, Brandon lit up the Southeastern U.S. festival and theatre circuit, and completed two critically-acclaimed UK tours. The Chairmen’s 2017 album ‘Words Left Unsaid’ features Brandon on lead vocals for ‘All I Need Is You Tonight’ and ‘Each Morning I Wake Up,’ a remake of Major Harris’ 1975 hit.

Proficient, intentional and consistent not only describes Jerrod ‘J-rod’ Sullivan’s approach to music, but also his approach to life. Born in 1992, J-rod discovered his love for music at the early age of two and could often be heard drumming on pots and pans in his mother’s kitchen. Immersing himself in the diverse world of music, J-rod spent countless hours teaching himself to play bass guitar and the art of production. In 2006, J-rod uploaded his first Youtube video and the reactions confirmed what he knew all along, his musical talent would be used as a gift to educate and inspire others. Committed to learning and advancing his skill, J-rod enrolled in the Atlanta Institute of Music graduating in 2012 and joined The 4 Korners band in 2013. With a growing community of over 500K online followers, it's obvious that J-rod’s brand exceeds his talent. His style, method and dedication creates an electric and eager community of aspiring and talented musicians.

Additionally, he has recently reached a significant milestone in his career. J-rod just recorded his highly anticipated debut album, The Comeback, which will release later this year. This album is a culmination of his musical journey, showcasing his growth, passion, and unique artistic vision. She's traveled all over the country performing with notable smooth jazz artists Oli Silk, Will Downing, Marqueal Jordan, Mike Manson, Tom Braxton, and also opening for such Jazz giants, Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Sheila E., Johnathan Butler to name a few and performed the National Anthem for President Barack Obama.
