Throughout their storied 43-year history, the Yellowjackets have recorded 26 albums, received 18 Grammy® nominations – won 2 – performed countless sold-out tours, and enjoyed worldwide critical acclaim and commercial success.

The Yellowjackets formed in the late 1970’s as the backup band for guitarist Robben Ford. They recorded their first album together in 1980. Shortly after that recording, however, Ford decided to part ways and go in a different musical direction. As a result, the modern day Yellowjackets were formed — a trio with Russell Ferrante, Jimmy Haslip and Ricky Lawson. Since then, and with the addition of Bob Mintzer, the Yellowjackets have gained and maintained prominence as one of jazz’s most influential and loved groups.

Over the years the band has undergone numerous lineup changes. Never failing to rise to the inevitable challenges of adjustment, the Yellowjackets - Russell Ferrante, William Kennedy, Bob Mintzer - have maintained an extraordinarily high quality of musicianship that is the rival of many but a surprise to no one who knows and appreciates the band and their music.

The most recent addition to the band adds Australian bass player Dane Alderson in to the mix. With his exceptional rhythmic sensibility and natural disposition toward groove, Dane brings a new energy to the band and adds a youthful approach to the music.

The Yellowjackets album “Raising Our Voice" was released in Fall 2018 and features special guest vocalist Luciana Souza. Their latest album "Jackets XL with the WDR Big Band" was nomitaed for a Grammy® in 2021.

Brian Simpson

WEBSITE
After graduating from Northern Illinois University, keyboardist and composer Brian Simpson relocated to Los Angeles where he was soon playing alongside musicians Gerald Albright and Norman Brown and eventually on a world tour with Janet Jackson.
In 1990 Simpson received a call from George Duke that led to a decade of touring and production work with the late jazz legend. It was his tenure with George that led to working with a variety of artists, from James Ingram and Anita Baker to Dave Koz and Wayman Tisdale.
The popularity of his music worldwide has kept Mr. Simpson on a seemingly endless world tour which in 2019 included Japan, Australia, Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal, and South Africa.
With writing and performing credits on R&B chart-topping albums and Smooth Jazz Airplay charts, it’s clear why Brian is the veteran Music Director of so many jazz events.
Brian is a recording artist with Shanachie Entertainment which is releasing his tenth CD entitled All That Matters (2021).

William C. Cobham was born on May 16, 1944, in Panama where he grew fond of percussion from watching his cousin play. At age three, his family moved to New York City and at age eight Billy made his percussion performance debut with his father. Growing up Billy played in the St. Catherine's Queensmen at the High School of Music and Art. After graduating Billy served as a percussionist in the U.S. Army National band. He then played as a drummer in pianist Horace Silver's band and toured the U.S. with him throughout the late 1960s. He then left to partake in Miles Davis' fusion ensemble where he can be heard on Davis classics such as 'Like-Evil' and 'A Tribute to Jack Johnson'. Eventually Cobham parted ways from Davis' group to work with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, where he was able to further explore his technique and fusion style which influenced many for years to come.

After deciding to part ways with the Orchestra, Cobham started his own band, Spectrum and signed with Atlantic Records. Spectrum's debut album featured a mix of jazz, funk and rock that allowed Cobham to further experiment with percussion. In 1975, Cobham released "A Funky Thide of Sings" moving into commercial jazz exclusively. In 1977, Cobham left Atlantic and signed to CBS label which allowed him to reach the commercial success he had always wanted. Cobham focused on his opportunities as a session drummer and other side opportunities after leaving CBS, such as drumming for the Grateful Dead's side project Bobby & the Midnites. In 1988, Cobham helped start a group called 'Jazz is Dead' which reprised Grateful Dead music with jazz iterations.

Cobham continues to tour worldwide.

In 2001 Cobham was named one of the 25 Most Influential Drummers by Modern Drummer magazine. He paved the way for future drummers by changing the way percussion is set up, the way it is played and enjoyed. In 2001 Cobham released "Drum 'n Voice 1" which was his return to the 1970s jazz-funk sound and then in 2006 Cobham released "Drum 'n Voice 2" eventually Cobham released his follow up record "Drum 'n Voice 3" in 2009. In 2011 Cobham started teaching drums online at the Billy Cobham School of Drums which is a ArtistWorks Drum Academy. In 2018 Cobham toured across the US a performance series called "Crosswinds Project" which was his way of revisiting his second album, Crosswinds. The tour re-comprised his original work from the 1970's which continued into 2019 as a celebration of Cobham's 75th birthday.

Cobham continues to tour worldwide.

Julian Vaughn has toured all over the U.S. playing at some of the largest jazz festivals and abroad in places like Dubai, Nairobi, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Lagos Nigeria, and Germany.

Vaughn has recorded 6 albums thus far with 6 billboard #1 hits. In 2020 Vaughn was named the #2 Billboard artist of the year with 2 singles in the top 20 for the top 100 billboard songs of the year. London-born keyboardist Oli Silk is the UK’s Smooth Jazz Ambassador! He began writing and recording music as part of jazz funk duo ‘Sugar and Silk’ in the late 1990’s. The pair released 2 albums to much European acclaim, and this grabbed the attention of Trippin’N’Rhythm Records to whom Oli has been signed with ever since. He has produced 6 hit albums in that time:
▪    So Many Ways - (2006)
▪    The Limit’s The Sky - (2008)
▪    All We Need - (2010)
▪    Razor Sharp Brit - (2013)
▪    Where I Left Off - (2016)
▪    6 - (2020)
Oli’s songs have enjoyed huge success on radio in the US over the last 15 years, highlights include:
▪    Easy Does It - Oli’s debut hit, Billboard top 15 (2006)
▪    Chill Or Be Chilled - One of the biggest hits of the year, Billboard top 3 and one of the longest charting songs in Billboard Smooth Jazz history with a combined main/ recurrent chart tally of 54 weeks! (2008/09)
▪    At Your Service - Oli’s first Billboard #1 song (2013)
▪    New Bounce - Three weeks at Billboard #1 for this memorable tune, featuring Vincent Ingala (2020)
▪    Hurry Up And Wait - Another Billboard #1, the first time that Oli had enjoyed multiple #1’s from the same album, also Billboard #7 song of the year (2021)
Oli remains one of the most dynamic and energetic keyboardists in the genre and his unique mix of jazzy instrumentals, funky vocal cuts and downright old skool keytar and vocoder give his live shows that real wow factor and have earned him a loyal and dedicated fan-base! Oli has toured his music extensively across the globe, from Mozambique to Australia, Spain to Dubai, Lithuania to LA. You can also regularly find Oli as a featured artist on the prestigious Dave Koz Cruise. Oli’s skills as a sideman keys player have made him the UK go-to guy for some of the genre’s biggest artists including Gerald Albright, Chuck Loeb, Brian Culbertson, Boney James, Dave Koz, Pieces of a Dream, Euge Groove, Paul Brown and Peter White. His credentials as a musical director are also far reaching, most notably for 4 years at the Dubai International Jazz Festival - overseeing some 30+ artists on the Jazz Garden Stage.

Maria Howell and Noel Freidline define chemistry.  Musically they breath as one, communicating almost telepathically as they explore and re-interpret some of the best music of the last 80 years.  Always approaching the music from “the left,” Noel and Maria have made a name for themselves as they offer listeners something they have heard, but that they have never heard before.  Combine this fresh musical approach with a rapport and witty banter that harkens back to the days of the Rat Pack, and you have Noel and Maria in their element: on stage, thrilling an audience at every turn.

XAVIER GORDON
WEBSITE

For more than a decade, Xavier Gordon has been an all-around entertainer in the music industry. Pianist, songwriter, producer and jazz artist are just some of the musical titles he has developed since his start playing piano at the age of eight and his debut into the live music scene in Atlanta, GA in 2008.

Born in Conyers, GA, he grew up in a musical family full of singers and musicians and quickly became immersed into the rhythmic sounds and powerful music found in church. This influence can be heard in his music even today.

In 2009, an opportunity to sit in with the Lincoln Jazz Orchestra turned into an amazing showcase of his talent and a scholarship to study jazz performance. In addition to his childhood classical training, he became formally trained in jazz while obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Georgia State University.

After graduating, he pushed his musical skills to the next level by entering into the Los Angeles music scene. The city of dreams and stars propelled Xavier into dynamic music collaborations and opportunities to play with artists like Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, John Legend and many more.

He has produced music for artists like Angie Stone, Puff Daddy and Musiq Soulchild, for which he earned a Grammy nomination in 2018. And in 2019, he recorded a single where he plays alongside jazz greats Norman Brown and Kirk Whalum.

These experiences led to an evolution in his own artistry, and now, he is prepared to unveil a musical project of a lifetime: Excellence. Excellence, Xavier Gordon’s innovative and feel-good jazz EP released July 2, 2021 and debuted at #2 on the Itunes Charts.
