    1h 42m / Not Rated / Animation

A dog, Dog, lives in Manhattan, and like so many of us he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot as a companion. Their friendship blossoms until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of ‘80s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again?  Do we get second chances?

Based on the popular graphic novel by North American writer Sara Varon, and the first animated feature from director Pablo Berger, Robot Dreams is a story of friendship and responsibility that, despite its period setting, is grounded firmly in the strange rhythms of life in the 2020s.

Nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.

    1h 45m / PG-13 / Historical Drama

The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife, Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp. But the audience never actually sees any sign of the Holocaust unfolding right next door. The barbarism and butchery are only apparent from the screams in the distance or from fires at night or smoke during the daytime. The pristine, lush surroundings of this family entirely obscure the mass extermination taking place. The horror is left to one’s imagination.

Based on Martin Amis’s book of the same name, this masterful, disquieting film from director Jonathan Glazer (Under the Skin, Sexy Beast) shakes our concepts of evil and attention, interrogating even what it means to be human.

Nominated for five OSCARS, including Best Picture, Best International Feature Film, Best Achievement in Directing, Best Sound, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

    2h 13m / R / Comedy, Drama

From acclaimed director Alexander Payne (previously OSCAR-nominated for Sideways, The Descendants and Nebraska), The Holdovers follows a curmudgeonly instructor (Paul Giamatti) at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually he forms an unlikely bond with one of them — a damaged, brainy troublemaker (newcomer Dominic Sessa) — and with the school's head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam (Da'Vine Joy Randolph).

Cute and touching if not laugh-out-loud hilarious, The Holdovers is a thought-provoking dramedy for film fans nostalgic for a dialogue-driven story with a distinctly throwback feel.

Nominated for five OSCARS, including Best Picture, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Paul Giamatti), Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Da'Vine Joy Randolph), Best Original Screenplay, and Best Achievement in Film Editing.

In this 19th century, supernatural winter epic, a drunken applejack salesman must go from zero to hero and become North America’s greatest fur trapper by … defeating hundreds of beavers? Somewhere between Chaplin’s The Gold Rush and a Bugs Bunny cartoon, Hundreds of Beavers is a delightfully absurd romp from Mike Cheslik and Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, the duo behind cult hit Lake Michigan Monster.

Perhaps Alexandra Heller-Nicholas of the Alliance of Women Film Journalists put it best: “[It] starts strange, gets stranger, and yet remains resolutely adorable […] embraces the defiant glee of art cinema and distills it into something so thoroughly pure and sincere that it is surely hard not to fall in love with it.”

Tampa Theatre and AEG Presents will welcome the podcast CANCELLED to the Theatre’s historic stage at 7:30pm Tuesday, March 19.

Get up close and personal for a discussion with your favorite co-host besties Tana Mongeau and Brooke Schofield in these unfiltered, uncut, interactive live shows! After years of growing up under the constant scrutiny of public opinion, social media juggernaut Tana Mongeau takes back the mic. Acting as a natural evolution of her acclaimed “storytime” videos, this show offers an intimate look at Mongeau, her meteoric rise to superstardom, and the unavoidable moments of vulnerability that make this cyber-personality all the more human.

Brooke Schofield being the brains and voice of reason between the dynamic duo is exactly what the show needed. Brooke, who was born and raised in Arizona, started her academic journey with nursing but discovered her true passions were in LA. After Brooke’s move, she grew a following quickly over social media thanks to her unique and satirical commentary on everyday life.

CANCELLED LIVE will not only continue to spill all the tea that you see on their podcast each week, but it will be with no cuts, no bleeping out names… they’ll probably cancel themselves a time or two by saying all the things that they can’t say online. A first-generation Italian-American born and raised in Westchester, New York, Anthony Rodia came out of the womb making people laugh. In his 20s he tried a few open mics, but ultimately took a different career path as a finance manager of a luxury car dealership. In 2019, Rodia returned to comedy and left his day job to become a full-time stand-up comic. He hit the ground running and performed 100 shows in just nine months, and within three years Anthony has gained a massive fan base online and around the country.

In a very short time, Anthony gained more than 900,000 social media followers and his YouTube videos have amassed more than 22 million views. Rodia’s comedy pulls from his real life and razor-sharp observations on marriage, parenthood, road rage and everything else worthy of a social media rant.

With the onset of quarantine, Anthony made the most of a captive audience, delivering a staggering 86 weekly videos. Road Rage Wednesday became a fan favorite, but his Uncle Vinny and Zia Lucia characters transformed into a phenomenon. They are the crazy uncle and aunt you love but can’t be out in public with, who speak their minds (whether you asked for it or not).

In 2021, Anthony launched Rodia Wines, which include a Zia Lucia’s White Blend and Uncle Vinny’s Red Blend that both pair perfectly with any of your favorite Italian dishes.

Rodia also host the weekly podcast, Little Bit of Laughs, on Podcast One. Get to know the comedian behind your favorite viral videos and stand-up comedy alongside his co-host and radio legend Goumba Johnny. Join Anthony and Goumba as they get into hot topics, rants, pranks and listener's questions and stories.

Anthony has appeared on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, FOX’s Good Day New York, and Elizabeth & Elisa on News 12, where he quietly claimed the throne of “King of Off the Boat Comedy.”

Tickets range from $30-$50 plus applicable taxes and fees ($37-$58.50 total at the Box Office & $40.50-$63 total online).

A limited amount of VIP Meet & Greet tickets are available for $80 plus applicable taxes and fees ($90.75 total at Box Office & $96.50 total online). Tampa Theatre and Outback Presents are proud to announce that comedian Taylor Tomlinson will return to Tampa Theatre (where she sold out her 2021 show) for a stop on her The Have it All Tour.

The New York Times opines, comedian Taylor Tomlinson “demonstrates tight joke writing, carefully honed act-outs and a ruthless appetite for laughs” in her second hour-long special, Look At You, now streaming on Netflix. New York Magazine adds, “Watching Tomlinson gives you the same comfort as a Swift concert or a Broadway show that’s been on for years. This is a professional. This performance will be ultra-produced. You do not need to be anxious,” and the Los Angeles Times observes, “Even when she’s navigating painful waters, she can’t help but find the humor… her wit and pinpoint delivery reveal both an incisive writer and also a talented actor.”

Tickets range from $29.75-$69.75 plus applicable taxes and fees ($36.75-$79.75 total at the Box Office & $40.25-$85 total online)

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
    1h 55m / PG / Animation

It takes a will of steel to hide your superhero talents from a world that still needs you, yet no longer appreciates what you can do. Battling a bulging belly and a boring job, Mr. Incredible longs for the glory days of upholding law and order while his superhuman family tries to fit in with their "normal" life. Relief from quiet suburbia finally comes, years later, when the family uncovers a diabolical plan and must bring together their respective strengths to save the day.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, The Incredibles is a witty, bombastic take on the costumed superhero genre while also managing — in high Pixar style — to surface some deep truths about family and the stories we tell about our own lives.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
    1h 48m / PG / Fantasy

After the three young Baudelaire siblings are left orphaned by a fire in their mansion, they are carted off to live with their distant relative, Count Olaf (Jim Carrey). Unfortunately, Olaf is a cruel, scheming man only after the inheritance that the eldest Baudelaire, Violet (Emily Browning), is set to receive. The children escape and find shelter with their quirky Uncle Monty (Billy Connolly) and their phobic Aunt Josephine (Meryl Streep), but Olaf is never far behind.

Working in the same sort of frightfully fun, dark and chilling whimsy that Beetlejuice and the Addams Family movies do, Lemony Snicket is a quirky, spunky adventure with a little something for everyone.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

    1h 26m / PG / Animation

In this animated adaptation of Ted Hughes' Cold War fable, a giant alien robot (Vin Diesel) crash-lands near the small town of Rockwell, Maine, in 1957. Exploring the area, a local 9-year-old boy, Hogarth, discovers the robot, and soon forms an unlikely friendship with him. When a paranoid government agent, Kent Mansley, becomes determined to destroy the robot, Hogarth and beatnik Dean McCoppin (Harry Connick Jr.) must do what they can to save the misunderstood machine.

The movie that put Brad Bird on the trajectory to Pixar, The Iron Giant is heartwarming, engrossing, deeply human exploration of friendship and love between two very different beings.
