Showtime: 7:30PM
Tickets: $15 - Advanced | $20 - At door
About:
Composer, guitarist, and vocalist, Trevor Dean Stewart is an up-and-coming voice in the Chicago music scene. With respect for the jazz traditions of the past and an openness for the future of music, his songs create a dialogue between nostalgia and innovation. With his new band featuring three horns and original music, he strives to incorporate both jazz and contemporary music in the same performance. Inspired by Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind, and Fire, Trevor brings energy and joy to the stage while allowing for improvisation within his compositions.
As a young musician, he started out as a classical guitarist and vocalist in Dallas, Texas. This young classical training helped him move to Chicago to pursue music at Columbia College Chicago. Under the guidance of Scott Hall, Trevor took a comprehensive approach to jazz that incorporated playing and studying the jazz arranging greats such as Sammy Nestico, Thad Jones, and Bob Brookmeyer. These artists, while all different, inform Trevor’s arrangements with a sense of authenticity and appreciation for the past. He is currently studying composition with Thomas Matta and jazz guitar with Scott Hesse at DePaul University for their MM in Jazz Studies.
Trevor’s compositions and arrangements have been played at the prestigious Auditorium Theater (2022), as well as at the Arie Crown Theater, and the legendary Jazz Showcase arranging for Tia Fuller and composing for the Bob Lark Septet (2023). In addition to arranging and composing, he also performs weekly at the historic Blackstone Hotel and the Aloft Hotel as a guitarist and vocalist. Trevor Dean Stewart creates a show for all audiences to enjoy.

The BBE Carols Album Release
Date: Sunday, December 17, 2023
Doors: 6PM
Showtime: 7PM
Tickets: $20 - General Admission | $60 - VIP table for 2
About:
About the albumCarols are often associated exclusively with the Christmas season - but that’s not true! For centuries, people sang carols during all four seasons, at weddings and birthdays, as well as other holidays and occasions outside the Christmas season. This concert marks the release of the BBE's Advent-style Carols album which features a carol for each of the 31 days of December, including songs celebrating other December holidays that are not associated with Advent, such as Hannakuh, Festivus, National Violin Day, and others. We won't play all 31, but you will hear a mix of villancicos, spirituals, Appalachian, Cajun and Caribbean folk tunes, and Bach. There will be some you know, and many you don't!About the BBEThe Bach + Beethoven Experience (BBE), a Chicago-based period instrument ensemble, makes classical music into community by building personal connections between our audience and our artists through stories, music, and interactive experiences. For this release concert, the instrumentation will include BBE co-directors violinist Brandi Berry Benson and flautist Leighann Daihl Ragusa, vocalists Thomas Alaan, Matthew Dean, and Alexandra Olsavsky, violin/violist Kiyoe Matsuura, cellist Stephanie Hunt, theorbo, baroque guitar, percussion, and more. ANDIE (she/her) is a Soul, Blues, & Jazz inspired songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, & bandleader of ANDIE & The Bandits. She has been involved in Chicago’s music scene for over 6 years, having attended Columbia College Chicago for her Bachelor’s in Contemporary Music while playing at venues all across Chicago. ANDIE & The Bandits recently concluded their 4 month long residency at Golden Dagger, having added new songs to their original set of music each month. Whether accompanying herself on electric guitar, or leading The Bandits, ANDIE’s strong sense of vulnerability shines through in her lyricism & expressive voice.
About Samuel Aaron:There’s a delicate intimacy that Samuel Aaron brings to the Chicago indie scene. The Portland-born artist is difficult to categorize, as his soulful, vulnerable music sits somewhere between folk, indie rock, and soul. About Voicebox:
Where a Song Leads to a Story and A Story Leads to a Song. A Story event with a musical twist with Cathy Richardson of Jefferson Starship!
About Cathy Richardson:
It’s hard to think of any musician who’s had a more varied career than Chicago-based singer Cathy Richardson; from scrappy indie rock singer selling albums out of her car to commercial jingles, off-Broadway stage productions to fronting Jefferson Starship and a variety of side projects, she also picked up a Grammy nomination along the way. The twists and turns of her career feel impossible to follow, and incredibly unlikely, but are owed to the vast range of Richardson’s dynamite-packed vocal cords and her dogged perseverance to achieve goals she set as a teenager.

About:
Flutist Steve Yépez has been performing for thirty years and comes to the stage with a long history of performing around the country and especially along the West Coast and throughout the Chicago area. Mr. Yépez has been the Principal Flute for the Chicago Summer Opera since 2009, as well as both the Principal Flute for The Chicago Arts Orchestra, and The Chicago Jazz Philharmonic. In addition to performing with those stellar ensembles Steve is a member of the faculty at The New Music School and frequently performs in chamber music groups with colleagues there. In Los Angeles he has performed with a number of notable groups, including The West Los Angeles Symphony, Burbank Philharmonic, and The Antelope Valley Symphony. And for three summers Mr. Yépez played at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as the Principal Flute and Assistant Principal Flute with the Idyllwild Festival Orchestra. In 2009, Steve Yépez founded the Chicago-based chamber ensemble, Primavera Players, now The Yépez Players, which performs regularly and has added a new focus recently: outreach concerts and chamber music to young people – in a bid to both introduce and excite them into the world of classical music. The Yépez Players has performed widely around Chicago and has been a part of the Skyline Salon Series. The Yépez Players’ newest venture, Collaborate in Harmony has added an exciting twist to performance: working with the corporate world to teach the classical musicians’ approach to communication and productivity but in the business/technology workplace. Mr. Yépez has earned his Master of Music Degree at DePaul University after graduating from California State University, Northridge. He has studied with renowned flutist, Mary Stolper (Grant Park Symphony); Sandra Iles (California State University); and Catherine Ransom (Los Angeles Philharmonic). Pianist Jeffrey Panko has received critical acclaim as both solo and collaborative artist throughout the United States and Europe. Earning degrees in Piano Performance from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and the DePaul University School of Music, Panko was awarded top prizes in the Society of American Musicians’ Piano Competition (Chicago) and the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition (New York). Following a concert tour of Poland where he was honored by the United States with the title of Cultural Ambassador, Panko was invited by the City of Chicago to present a Chopin recital for the visiting Lech Walesa and other Polish dignitaries. Panko has also been featured in performances at Carnegie Hall, Weill Hall, Lincoln Center Library, WQXR Radio (New York), is a frequent performer on WFMT Radio (Chicago), and appeared in Symphony Center playing the music of Steven Sondheim for Mr. Sondheim. An Artist Faculty member of the New Music School piano faculty in Chicago, Panko also serves as Minister of Music and as Artistic Director of the Music at Bethel Concert Series for Bethel United Church of Christ in Elmhurst, Illinois and is a founding member of the Indigo Ensemble.
