The careers of four eccentric Broadway stars are struggling and they desperately need a new stage upon which to shine bright once more. Seeking out a cause, they head straight to small-town Indiana. Through social media, they have heard of trouble brewing around a school prom. Local girl, Emma Nolan, wants to take her girlfriend to prom but the homophobic PTA are on a mission to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow. Determined to transform lives and put themselves back in the limelight, the Broadway celebrities muscle in to change the town and give Emma the prom she deserves.

Okaidja Afroso ushers in a fresh breeze of musical flavors from the shores of Ghana’s Gulf of Guinea, drawing from the ecological knowledge of the indigenous Ga-Dangme fishermen, the power of nature-based rituals, and the connections that his ancestors had to the elements, particularly to the ocean. With his new project Jaku Mumor, Okaidja’s distinctive musical style extends ancestral traditions and creates a contemporary African oral tradition by combining percussion, guitar, dance and native language vocals.

You can enjoy performances at CenterStage, ranging from plays to concerts, dance performances, and more. Past seasons have brought a marvelous variety of events, including sold out performances of Trout Fishing in America, the long-standing musical partnership of Grammy nominees Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet; Lunasa, one of the most popular Irish bands touring the world; the Reduced Shakespeare Company; and performances by many other international and local soloists and groups.
