    EMCEE: JAYE DEVAN

    FEATURE:  KERMET APIO

    HEADLINER:  MICHAEL PALASCAK

Philadelphia-born comedian Jaye Devan found his funny early as the comic relief among households filled with his sister and cousins. After graduating, Jaye joined the Marine Corps and got his first exposure to standup during a talent show on base.  Taking second place was not nearly as significant as the passion he found from telling his stories onstage.  He would spend the next few years honing his craft but upon leaving the Marine Corps found difficulty in balancing civilian life with his passion.

In 2013, fifteen years removed from the stage, Jaye returned to pursue his love for standup.  Armed with a bevy of life experience and knowledge, he approaches comedy from the perspective of an ‘everyday dude’.  His views on relationships/marriage, fatherhood, corporate life and living as a Black man in America are delivered with unfiltered candor and intrepid wit. His credits include The Comedy Store, Comedy Union and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, LA Comedy Club and the Comedy Cellar in Las Vegas and various clubs around the country. He recently performed in the Memphis Urban Laughs Comedy Festival, NW Black Comedy Festival and San Diego Comedy Festival and can be seen on Laughs on Fox (Season 2, Episode 18). He is the former host of his own radio show entitled Everyday Talk with Jaye Devan and current co-host of The Pool Table Talk Podcast. He also released his first recorded standup special, titled ‘Temper Yourself’ on DVD and Amazon Prime. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kermet Apio enjoyed a childhood in paradise. He spent his time watching television, playing, and procrastinating everything else. To this day, he still does all three extensively. After graduating from high school, Kermet moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. Seattle became home. In early 1989, Kermet did his first open mike night at the Comedy Underground in Seattle. Comedy was a fun hobby. In May of 1990, he quit his job, said good bye to health care and benefits, and took the leap to performing full time. It is still his only job skill. He was the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. He has showcased at comedy festivals in Aspen, Las Vegas, and Vancouver and has performed in 47 states and 3 Canadian provinces. He is a past winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition and was a semi-finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition. Also, in 1988 he was Dishwasher of the Month at the Sea-Tac Airport Denny’s. Kermet is married and the proud father of two wonderful children. He enjoys his family, baseball, and pie. He does not enjoy opera, sitting in traffic, and writing about himself in the third person.

Most recently, Michael Palascak was named the 2018 Stand-up of the Year by the Late Nite Last Week podcast for his performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.  He’s also done stand-up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, CONAN, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Letterman, Comedy Central's HALF HOUR, was a top 5 Finalist on LAST COMIC STANDING, and this past summer he performed at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival where he taped a set for Kevin Hart’s LOL network.  Norm Macdonald said Michael reminds him, "...of a guy that's just as funny offstage as on, which is like magic.”  Michael’s short film You’re Alive was accepted into numerous festivals including the Hollywood Comedy Shorts Festival and was the winner of the Audience Award at the Chicago Comedy Film Festival.

Zany by name, Zany by nature is a terrible way to start a biography. Thankfully, American comedian Bob Zany doesn’t deserve that title. He has, however, been described as ‘The Most Sarcastic Comedian of All-Time’ — it’s the title of his Dry Bar comedy special that has been watched over 4 million times on YouTube since it was uploaded in April 2021. He has also been nominated for three American Comedy Awards and had the honour of representing the USA at the World’s Funniest Person contest in 2016, which is quite some honour. His 45-year-long career has been the subject of a documentary called Close But No Cigar.
Zany is a veteran comic with well over 1000 television appearances to his name. The first of these came in 1977 when he was 15. He appeared on The Gong Show and was yanked offstage halfway through his set by a man dressed as a nun. In 1988, he returned to the show, only this time as a celebrity judge, having established himself as one of America’s prime comedians. He has appeared on Jay Leno, An Evening at the Improv, American Bandstand, Comics Unleashed, and many more. Between 1995 and 2007, he was a co-host of the annual Jerry Lewis Telethon. He has also hosted The Zany Report on both radio and Dry Bar Comedy’s popular YouTube channel. Beau McDowell is a standup comedian and co-host of the Losers With A Dream podcast with comedy legend Lisa Lampanelli. Beau performs regularly on the East Coast, and is known for his big personality, his big stature, and his even bigger sense of humor about his former struggles with substance abuse, family co-dependence, and his search for self-acceptance. Beau’s ability to approach serious and sometimes heartbreaking experiences with levity and warmth differentiate him as a comedian on the rise with something new to say.

Comedian Art Krug has a style that has been described as intelligent, surprising, and universal. Krug’s quirky observations about everything from strange news stories to free range chicken will take you in a direction you couldn’t have guessed. A staple of Pacific Northwest comedy since the eighties, Krug has also travelled across the U.S. and into Canada, performing at such prestigious venues as The Improv in L.A. and The Riviera in Las Vegas. Krug has appeared on cruise ships and comedy clubs, colleges and corporate parties for over 30 years. He has appeared on The Showtime Network and won the Peoples Choice Award at the Bend Comedy Festival 2010.

Ken Rogerson, the funniest man you’ve never heard of, started his comedy career working the Chicago club circuit and at the famed Second City.  After touring with the improvisational troupe The Comedy Rangers, Ken moved east and became a central part of the now famous and infamous exploding Boston comedy scene of the 1980’s.  There he honed his standup act to a fine edge.
Rogerson is one busy comic.  A recent hit on Showtime’s Billy Gardell’s Road Dogs, just off his third Rescue Me Comedy Tour, appearances in Showtime’s “When Standup Stood Out”,   and recently seen on CNN Comedy and at the TBS LOL Lounge from The Comedy Festival in Vegas, you may have also seen him as “Kevin the Biker Fireman” on F/X’s hit show “Rescue Me” starring Denis Leary or as “Pat the Cop” on ABC’s “It’s All Relative” with Lenny Clarke.   He has made numerous other television appearances on such shows as NBC’s , “Late night  with Conan O’Brien”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”,  “Last Comic Standing” “Comics Come Home” for Comedy Central and Showtime’s  “A Pair of Jokes” just to name a few.
A writer, sketch player, actor and comedian, Ken wrote and starred in comedy film pieces on Fox Television Network’s “Sunday Comics” and has made film appearances in “Fever Pitch” and “There’s Something About Mary.”  He has also been seen on Byron Allen’s “Comedy Jam” and starred in his own episode of “Who Wants to Date a Comic?”  Rogerson has also written for the new series “Sirens.”

     FEATURE                        TYLER BOEH
     HEADLINER                   JAKE JOHANNSEN

Phil Johnson has an action packed show filled with his two loves, comedy and music. It’s a show filled with sharp unexpected turns, sneak attack jokes, and hilarious songs that doesn’t shy away from controversial territory… race, sex, religion, and doughnuts – so many doughnuts – all delivered from the viewpoint of a guy who happily grew up in the deeply multi-everything community of the San Francisco Bay Area. Phil has been seen and heard at the Sundance Film Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, on Sirius/XM and Bob and Tom radio, and on Amazon Prime. He’s also released multiple comedy specials and albums filled with his colorful, tightly-written comedy.

Tyler Boeh’s award winning “beat-boxing” talent and ability to shift seamlessly from well-crafted material to improvised exchanges keep audiences in awe. He established himself early in his career by placing in the finals of three of the most prestigious comedy competitions in the country: the Seattle International, San Francisco International, and the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. With past appearances on “NESN Comedy All-Stars”, “Celebrity Name Game”, and two seasons of “Laughs on Fox”, Tyler has laid the groundwork for his growing success. In 2018 Tyler’s second album, “Full Circle” debuted at #2 on the Billboard Comedy Charts and he was selected as the SiruisXM 98 Artist of the Month. His Dry Bar Comedy special “Wait for it” has garnered millions of views online. You can find his comedy on Amazon Prime, Spotify, Pandora, and SiriusXM, but don’t miss the chance to see Tyler perform live!

A native of Iowa, Jake Johannsen spent three years at Iowa State University dabbling in veterinarian science and chemical engineering before moving to San
Francisco and trying his hand at comedy. Jake sought to make his comedic mark on the city at a time when San Francisco was fostering the likes of young talents such as
Bobcat Goldthwait and Dana Carvey. Jake made his own comedy debut during an open mike night at San Francisco’s Cobbs Comedy Club. Four years later, in 1986, he won
the 11th Annual San Francisco Stand-Up Comedian Competition. A self-confessed raconteur of weird stories, it’s no wonder that Jake is one of
David Letterman’s favorite comics. With forty-four Letterman appearances under his belt, more than any other comic, (not to mention a handful of Late Night with Conan
O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Politically Incorrect gigs) Jake is no stranger to late night television. His late night appearances gave Jake the exposure he
needed to land his very own HBO comedy special, This’ll Take About An Hour. Jake received incredible reviews, strong ratings, and a Cable Ace Award nomination for Best
Writing in an Entertainment Special. People Magazine rated the special as one of the “ten best television shows of the year,” and TV Guide named it one of the “50 Funniest
    Moments of TV.”
