Cory Wythe, the producer and guitarist better known as Marvel Years, has found a welcome place for himself within the increasingly popular glitch-hop / electro-soul dance music scene. In just a short period of time, his progression has become outright impossible to ignore. Much more than your average DJ/producer, Marvel Years incorporates electric guitar in his live performances. His approach to blending electronic beats and shredding soulful guitar on his original tracks and remixes creates a sound that is a unique hybrid of EDM combing glitch, retro-funk, classic rock, soul, jazz and hip-hop. “Classic rock has been a huge influence on me,” Wythe explains. “I love breathing new life into those older songs. I think that’s a good medium for bringing new listeners into my music because they can relate to that stuff. I improvise (on live guitar) over a lot of my stuff.”

“If Vermont-based artist Marvel Years, AKA Cory Wythe, isn’t on your list of artists to watch yet, now is definitely the time to add him to it. The producer and live guitarist tastefully blends elements of classic rock, electronic, funk, jazz and more into soulful creations that exude energy with each release.” - ThisSongIsSick.com
“Cory Wythe does not have a ceiling when it comes to the art of remixing, as he is known for taking natural classics and turning them into burning supernovae that no human can fight the urge to let go and dance their asses off.” – The Untz
An Evening with Break Science (21+)
Keys / Borahm Lee
Drums / Adam Deitch
Pioneers of Colorado’s electronic music explosion, Break Science soars ahead of the curve, with a decade-plus trendsetting the game. Steeped in filial traditions of East Coast hip hop, and futuristic soundwaves of the now, the Denver-based duo continues to scale creative mountains. Comprised of keyboardist/producer/jazz pianist Borahm Lee (Pretty Lights Live Band) and funk/hip-hop drummer extraordinaire Adam Deitch (Lettuce), Break Science traces roots to the embryonic seeds that flowered the electro-soul movement. The pair have consistently ascended the cutting edge of live dance music culture with an array of blistering live performances in any number of settings or configurations.
Borahm Lee’s masterful use of Ableton Live and prowess atop an assortment of analog synths, Fender Rhodes, and digital plug-ins propel Break Science’s towards the new frontier. Lee has worked with cultural icons like Kanye West and The Fugees, he is well versed in reggae/dub vibrations. Adam Deitch keeps it thorough with classic boom-bap, and inventive patterns that employ his rhythmic wizardry, be it electronic drum programming or a traditional trap-kit. Deitch has worked with hip-hop legends like Redman, Pharoahe Monch and members of the Wu-Tang Clan, he’s manned the drum seat for jazz luminaries like John Scofield (Uberjam). Both members of Break Science bring classic hip-hop, dub, drum n’ bass, dancehall, jazz, funk, and genre-defying elements to coalesce in modern electronic soundscapes.
The sum of these parts has evolved Break Science into an amalgam of styles authentic, and an artistic aesthetic wholly their own, heard in the highest of definition on their titanic 2018 full-length LP Grid of Souls. For ever-further explorations in sound, the duo will form like Voltron, combining with several members of Lettuce for the wildly-kinetic Break Science Live Band. Whether the essential dynamic duo or a full-fledged ensemble, they continue to break down the science & move the arena, one gridlocked soul at a time.

Manic Focus
Night 1
(21+)
Manic Focus is the electronic music project of John “JmaC” McCarten, a Denver-based producer with roots in funk, soul, and new-era hip-hop. A multi-dimensional artist with a rowdy style that spans multiple genres, Manic Focus transcends sound waves by fusing soulful blues with heavy-hitting bass, creating a resonating tone that’s entirely his own.
Originally hailing from the Twin Cities, McCarten grew up with classical piano lessons from an early age, developing a trained musical ear and laying the groundwork for his future in beat production. In his teen years, McCarten developed a deep appreciation for hip-hop music, citing musical influences such as Atmosphere, Brother Ali and MF Doom. In high school, McCarten would spend day and night in the basement of his family home teaching himself Ableton software, relentlessly trying to replicate the hip-hop rhythms he grew up on by making beats for his friends for fun. It was around this time that McCarten realized his music had a profound impact on those around him, and the self-taught producer began making his own music full-time.
Over the last 6 years, McCarten has released six full-length albums, each one a new evolution in sound and approach. The producer continues to push himself to new musical limits by incorporating original, sample-free recordings, which is especially apparent in the material from his latest album Lost in a Digital World, released in September of 2019. Lost in a Digital World further cemented McCarten in the upper echelon of producers and paints an aural illustration of his creative process and experimentation with different genres. The album draws elements from the realms of house, dubstep, trap, hip-hop, electronic, downtempo and beyond, and is perhaps his most cohesive body of work to date.
His fifth studio album Minds Rising was released in April of 2017 and debuted at #7 on the iTunes electronic music chart, featuring appearances from cutting-edge hip-hop artists, vocalists, producers and musicians across the country. Collaborators included Jennifer Hartswick of Trey Anastasio Band, Adam Deitch of Lettuce/Break Science, Russ Liquid, ProbCause, and Late Night Radio, among others. McCarten has also completed a slew of official remixes for notable artists such as Louis the Child, Zed’s Dead, Pretty Lights, GRiZ, The Floozies, Umphrey’s McGee, PLS&TY, Lettuce, and Minnesota.
On the road, JmaC has been steadily building his live performance to include additional musicians and elements of production. Jacob Barinholtz is now a mainstay on the drums, and other musical co-conspirators join the two on select dates around the country. He’s also been known to incorporate surprise guests such as Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli, GRiZ, The Floozies’ Matt Hill, and Russ Liquid, to name a few. Occasionally, fans are treated to the rare live fusion of Break Science and Manic Focus, taking the stage as Manic Science.
