Aggie Theatre Presents
Sensi Trails
w/ Heart Medicine and Green Buddha

Since 2016, Sensi Trails has been playfully blurring the lines between Cali reggae, surf, and psychedelic rock. After releasing a 5 song EP, lead singer and guitarist Kyle Rising decided to relocate from Outerbanks North Carolina, to San Diego California. He soon reconnected with E.N Young, whom he met when Tribal Seeds was on tour in NC. After recording and releasing the new single Just Livin' featuring Kbong of Stick Figure, he met drummer Jordan Starke and bassist/vocalist Kaya Hall. Adding a new layer of lush sound, they were soon joined by keyboardist Mike Root.

After dropping out of college and moving to Outerbanks, Kyle performed the open mic circuit and eventually found like-minded musicians, with whom he formed Sensi Trails. Feeling the need for growth following the EP, he hopped in the tour van on a solo journey out west. Desiring a fresh chapter of energy and sounds for Sensi Trails, Kyle hit Imperial Sound Studios in San Diego to record new material for a follow up album.

Drummer Jordan Starke came from a background of rock and metal. But he found reggae when he was just 16 years old, seeing Mike Pinto on tour in his hometown of Colorado Springs. Bassist Kaya Hall first found music in the form of a Kiss album in his fathers record collection. When his parents took him to a Slightly Stoopid concert, he fell in love with the sound and community that reggae created.  He has been the lead vocalist and guitar player in the popular San Diego roots-reggae band Strictly Skunk for over six years. And rounding things out, keyboardist Mike Root came from classical training, followed by jazz. However, in his heart he was always a beach bum from Charleston SC who loved reggae and riding waves.

All four musicians originated from different cities, came from different backgrounds, and found music through different avenues and styles. But it was their passion for music, and their love of reggae that brought them together. Honoring the sounds that inspired them, while mixing in fresh themes and styles, Sensi Trails is finishing their debut album. Combining thunderous bass, on-point rhythm, soulful lyrics, and tasty melodies – Sensi Trails will draw you in and leave you wanting more. With a chemistry of catchy songs and infectious vibes, they travel the open road, on a quest to play and spread their music to the world.

Mark Farina
w/ MissTree

Mark Farina has solidified himself in the world of Dance Music as a trailblazing DJ, Producer, tastemaker and bona fide House Music icon.  After 3 decades crisscrossing the globe, he shows no signs of slowing down remaining innovative, humble, and firmly rooted in the underground.
“I look at my job as a ‘modern day traveling minstrel’ bringing new music to as many places as I can and exposing audiences to obscure records that otherwise might go hidden.”
As an early House Music pioneer in the late 80’s, Farina’s history includes an impressive long standing residency at Smart Bar Chicago and a job at the legendary Gramaphone Records.  In the 90s, Mark pushed musical boundaries and blended genres to create “Mushroom Jazz”. Eventually, Mark made San Francisco his home as his signature sound created a strong demand for his DJ sets. The Bay Area proved to be a perfect match for Mark’s musical vision and he released a string of major mix compilations including his Mushroom Jazz series. With a tireless passion for playing extended sets, B2B shows with fellow House Music icons, or playing both of his signature styles on 2 stages on the same night, Farina continues to entertain his incredible fans all over the globe with over 100 shows per year.
Currently, Farina is the head honcho at his record label, Great Lakes Audio Recordings. Next up in 2018 are residencies at House of Yes (NY), Grasshopper Underground (MI), and Site 1A (MKE).

105.5 The Colorado Sound Presents
An Evening with
Paul Cauthen

Making Room 41nearly killed Paul Cauthen. Ironically enough, it’s also the very thing that saved him.“Finishing this record was one of the craziest experiences I’ve ever been a part of,” reflects Cauthen, the larger-than-life Texas troubadour nicknamed Big Velvetfor his impossibly smooth, baritone voice. “I’m honestly glad it’s done because I don’t thinkI’d survive if I had to do it all over again. No way.”Written during a roughly two-year stint spent living out of a suitcase in Dallas’ Belmont Hotel, Room 41chronicles Cauthen’s white-knuckle journey to the brink and back, a harrowing experience that landed him in and out of the hospital as he careened between ecstasy and misery more times than he could count. Cauthen has long been a pusher of boundaries (musical and otherwise), and Room 41 is no exception, with electrifying performances that blend old-school country and gritty soul with 70’s funk and stirring gospel. His lyrics take on biblical proportions as they tackle lust and envy, pride and despair, destruction and redemption, but these songs are no parables.Cauthen lived every single line of this record, and he’s survived to tell the tale.“I’ve always been the kind of artist that can’t write something unless I feel it and I mean it.” says Cauthen, “This record is as real as it gets for me. I amthese songs.”

Cauthen first earned his reputation as a fire-breathing truth-teller with the acclaimed roots rock band Sons of Fathers, but it wasn’t until the 2016 release of his solo debut, My Gospel, that he truly tapped into the full depth of his prodigious talents. Vice Noiseydubbed it “a somber reminder of how lucky we are to be alive,” while Texas Monthlyraved that Cauthen “sound[s] like the Highwaymen all rolled into one: he’s got Willie’s phrasing, Johnny’s haggard quiver, Kristofferson’s knack for storytelling, and Waylon’s baritone.” The album landed on a slew of Best Of lists at the year’s end and earned festival appearances from Austin City Limits and Pickathon to Stagecoach and Tumbleweed along with dates opening for Elle King, Margo Price, Midland, Cody Jinks, Social Distortion and more. He followed it up two years later with Have Mercy, an album that prompted Rolling Stoneto dub him “one of the most fascinating, and eccentric, new voices in country music” and NPR’s Ann Powers to proclaim 2019 as “the year of Paul Cauthen.”As his professional life reached new heights, though, Cauthen’s personal life hit new lows, and he soon found himself drifting without a home. Checked in to room 41 at the Belmont, he began escalating his self-destructive tendencies, medicating heartbreak and anxiety with alcohol and drugs as he ground himself into oblivion.

The Age Gap Tour

Look a’here, I had no plans to become a comedienne. Tennessee raised me to be a musician, but my divorce raised me to be really sarcastic. Top it off with a Snapchat filter and what you have is pure hilarity that, on a dare, was posted to social media and now has been viewed more than 300 million times. What people call a “viral phenomenon,” I like to call real-life preservation. Now I have a website, a new album, a tour bus, and a book. Welcome to it all!

From failed diets to dating in my 40s, I have seen it all and I have the airbrushed T-shirts to prove it. The challenges in my life (and in the aisles of Walmart) have provided stories that will have you belly laughing — especially from the time I moved back in with my parents as a grown woman with two children. In September 2017, I had about three friends on Facebook and now all of you crazy people are the center of my universe — 2.4 million to be exact. I love what I get to call a job everyday: finding the funny in the frustrating and reminding us all to laugh at ourselves.

I love my people, good coffee, boho clothes, good music, and Joanna Gaines. When I am not traveling for “i ain’t doin it” shows, you can find me at home outside of Nashville, Tennessee writing music, homeschooling two amazing teenagers (who shall remain nameless because they are embarrassed by the air I breathe), and launching my newest book, Perfect 10, which is now available.

Summit: Sustain Music & Nature

Sustain Music & Nature
We make music a force for nature. Tapping into the emotional hook of music and cultural sway of bands, we engage new audiences with the outdoors. Our nonprofit is based in Colorado, but does work across the US with musicians of all genres.

Slow Caves
Indie rock band, Slow Caves, formed in Fort Collins, Colorado. Consisting of Danish-American brothers, Jakob and Oliver Mueller, and their childhood friend David Dugan, the band solidified in 2014 after a decade of high school bands came to an end. After cutting their teeth in the Denver music scene, the band garnered attention from Old Flame Records and subsequently released the EP, Desert Minded in 2017. The following year they released a double A side picture disc (Poser/Rover). The band spent the last three years touring extensively, highlighted by performances at SXSW, Velorama and Treefort Music Fest. They have opened for national acts such as Third Eye Blind, Cold War Kids, Modest Mouse, Matt & Kim, Cake, Rooney, DIIV, The Kills, and many others. After sharpening their live show on the road, the band entered the studio with legendary record producer, Chris “Frenchie” Smith. Recorded at The Bubble in Austin, TX, Slow Caves released their debut album, “Falling” via Old Flame Records on March 22nd, 2019. The release garnered attention from press sources like the Alt Press, Earmilk, and Substream Magazine and received airplay on over 50 radio stations nationwide. In July of 2020, they released the single, Walk In The Park, followed by another single, Before I leave, in early 2021.

Since debuting on Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2015, Prof worked tirelessly to build upon his already impressive foundation. His first two releases, Liability (2015) and Pookie Baby (2018) were well-received, debuting at #19 and #8 respectively on Billboard’s Current Hip-Hop/R&B Albums charts. During that time, he was also headlining and selling out his annual 4,000-plus capacity Prof Outdoors concerts, releasing numerous music videos tallying views in the millions, and turning fresh eyes into fans with show-stopping live performances at festivals like Soundset. His imaginative artistry revealed his numerous talents as a rapper, singer, performer, actor, visual artist and more. Although it was Prof’s energy and persona that grabbed the audience’s attention, it was his artistic range that held onto it.

Aggie Theatre Presents
We Are William
Album Release Party
w/ Ancient Colossal, Liontortoise, Mastema and The Leshen

Formed in 2017, We Are William is a progressive metal band out of Northern Colorado. Originally finding its foothold within death metal and thrash influences, the band has since adopted a more eclectic approach to songwriting. Their current influences range from meditative and progressive bands like The Contortionist, Leprous, and Tesseract, to more aggressive and manic acts such as The Faceless and System of a Down. The band’s current approach aims to combine these conflicting themes to form a fresh, cohesive and innovative take on progressive metal.

Circles Around The Sun

In 2015 Justin Kreutzmann, son of Grateful Dead drummer Bill, invited Casal to compose the intermission music for the Dead’s Fare Thee Well concerts, a victory lap celebrating their final shows. Neal assembled the guys, recorded five hours of jams, and was surprised to find an eager audience and label support from Rhino Records. And Circles Around the Sun was born.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
105.5 The Colorado Sound Presents
An Evening with
St. Paul & The Broken Bones

St. Paul & The Broken Bones formed in 2012, releasing their debut album Half the City in 2014 and its follow up, 2016’s Sea of Noise, too much acclaim. Those strong efforts helped place them on the national scene, and the band worked hard to prove they were no mere retro-soul band—from touring the world relentlessly, including being selected to open for The Rolling Stones and headlining two nights at the Ryman Auditorium, to TV appearances. Janeway’s fearless showmanship, thoughtful lyrics, and dedication to his performance soon became the band’s calling card, and paired with the inventive and skillful direction of co-band leader Jesse Phillips as well as a full eight-man roster comprised of some of the best young instrumentalists in the South, they soon became a must-see event. (In addition to Janeway on lead vocals and Phillips on bass and guitar, the lineup is rounded out by Browan Lollar (guitars), Andrew Lee (drums), Al Gamble (keyboards), Allen Branstetter (trumpet), Chad Fisher (trombone) and Amari Ansari (saxophone), who replaced Jason Mingledorff following the album’s recording) Over time, Janeway has learned the art of balancing expectations and how to reconcile his past with his future, just as his band have learned how to overcome their perception by pushing against its ceiling. In embracing those things he cannot change, he has forged ahead as an artist and as a man. And with his band’s new album, Young Sick Camellia, Janeway has created a space for St. Paul & The Broken Bones to rival any forward-thinking band making music today, based on a concept all-too familiar to him: family, and how we love them despite our differences.
