Non-Verbal Storytelling

Did you know that 55% of communication is non-verbal? Being able to tell a story without speaking is a key tool on the stage, in class, at the grocery store — everywhere! See how isolations, illusions, key gestures, and body language are used to tell a story.

Stage Make Up
Thursday, June 15, 3 pm - 3:45 pm

Makeup is the foundation and the most basic visual image for all performers. This workshop teaches students of all ages by demonstrating (on a few participants) character and special effects makeup for the theatre. Please note, this workshop is specific to theatre makeup techniques and is not a “face painting” experience.

Rapunzel’s story is full of many more adventures than you may have heard before. The Ogres garden in the Mushroom patch while the Corn and Potato spies report back to Madame Gothel. Frenchy and his intense friends, the Wood Elves, do their best to help Rapunzel escape. The lost Prince, Rapunzel’s parents, and her friends the Unicorns try to help. Just when you think it’s safe to cross the bridge, a Troll and Three Billy Goats Gruff get in the way. It doesn’t help that the Three Bears (or is it four) confuse Rapunzel with Goldilocks and chase her through the forest. Add to that the Gremlins trying to play tricks on everyone, and you have chaos! Well, it’s not that bad because the Pixies foil the Gremlin’s plans most of the time. In short, Rapunzel and all the rest of the characters tell a silly tale of personal triumph and friendship.

Their Dad, Bart Rockett, an accomplished ventriloquist & magician in his own right, will be joining them as "show host" to truly make this a family affair, perfect for all ages!

(1961) The story of Romeo and Juliet is retold on the streets of New York City through the soaring musical score of Leonard Bernstein and Steven Sondheim as the Sharks and Jets fight for control of a neighborhood which will become Lincoln Center.

Arthur and his knights embark on a poorly funded and incredibly silly search and encounter a multitude of truly ridiculous obstacles like terrifying rabbits and the Knights Who Say “Ni!” This classic comedy will have you leaving the theatre in stitches.
