THE MAN IN BLACK: A Tribute to Johnny Cash

Van Wert, OH
United States
Doors at 6:00 PM, Show at 7:00 PM
More Information

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
The Man in Black: A Tribute to Johnny Cash is an accurate and energetic recreation of an American music icon. The lavish stage show brings this legend back to live onstage for the fans of today and the next generation.

Born and raised in a working class suburb of St. Louis, Shawn Barker took a schoolboy love for singing in church with his family and turned it into a career - a one-of-akind tribute to Johnny Cash. Universally considered the pre-eminent Johnny Cash tribute artist, Barker shares an uncanny resemblance to Cash. His strikingly similar looks, voice, and spot-on mannerisms revitalize the true character of Mr. Cash himself, and have led Barker to an immensely successful career performing his tribute to the original - Man in Black.

ONE NIGHT IN MEMPHIS

Van Wert, OH
United States
Doors at 6:30 PM, Show at 7:30 PM
More Information

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Get ready for a night of rockabilly, country, gospel and pure 1950's rock and roll with "One Night in Memphis" - a high energy concert that takes you back to December 4, 1956, the night when four of the biggest names in early rock and roll -- Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash - gathered together for an impromptu jam session at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis.

Created and directed by John Mueller from the highly acclaimed show, "Winter Dance Party," this show has met with the same accolades, sell out shows and audience standing ovations. The show gets off to a rocking start with Carl Perkins performing hits like "Honey Don't," "Brown-Eyed Handsome Man," and "Blue Suede Shoes," while offering up anecdotes about life as a sharecroppers' son and his musical influences. Midway through his set, Carl invites session musician Jerry Lee Lewis to join him and the Killer seizes the opportunity to front the band and lead the audience on a musical journey from New Orleans to Nashville and eventually into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. As Jerry puts the finishing touches on a set which includes "High School Confidential", "Breathless, "Whole Lotta Shaking Goin' On," and "Great Balls of Fire," the audience will have an opportunity to catch their breath as Johnny Cash is welcomed to the stage with his signature "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash." And then the musical journey through Cash's timeless catalog begins - including smash hits like "Folsom Prison Blues," "Ring of Fire," and "I Walk the Line." Next up...Elvis Presley, who electrifies the audience and transports them back to his beginnings where he went from driving a truck to delivering eleven #1 hits between 1956 -1959. Hits like "Shake, Rattle & Roll" to "All Shook Up," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Don't be Cruel," and "Hound Dog."

This tribute to that memorable night in Memphis when Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis recorded at Sam Phillips' Sun Studios features nationally acclaimed cast members who have an uncanny sound, look and feel of the original legends; the production also features an authentic and energetic rockabilly backup band. Your audience will feel as though they are witness to a rock and roll royalty jam session with the legendary performers whose music has stood the test of time.

CLAY WALKER

Van Wert, OH
United States
Doors at 6:00 PM, Show at 7:00 PM
More Information

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Can Clay Walker deliver? In a sense, the question is absurd for a recording artist, songwriter and entertainer with 31 charted singles, a dozen No. 1s, four platinum albums and decades of performances to his credit. Titles spanning 15 years and still receiving strong airplay include "Live Until I Die," "Dreaming With My Eyes Open," "This Woman And This Man," "Hypnotize The Moon," "Rumor Has It," "Then What," "The Chain Of Love," "I Can't Sleep" and "She Won't Be Lonely Long."

Walker's still robust touring schedule - 80 shows last year - continues to fuel interest in his releases, most recently the 76-song compilation Clay Walker - The Complete Albums 1993-2002. Among them is the chart-topper "If I Could Make A Living," which just celebrated the 25th anniversary of reaching its airplay peak, despite its singer showing no slippage in his celebrated matinee idol looks and megawatt smile. Can Clay Walker deliver? Is he afraid of the question? Hardly. "If I had to lay out my ambition, it's to become a master at what I do," he says. "I'm a long ways from it, but that's exciting as well because there's a lot of road left."

WIZARDS OF WINTER

Van Wert, OH
United States
Doors at 6:00 PM, Show at 7:00 PM
More Information

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
The Wizards of Winter was originally formed in the winter of 2009 as a way to give back to the band's hometown community food pantry that was in dire need of assistance. What was once simply a group of friends looking to help others in need, has now turned into a musical force that crosses the nation each year.

Two of the original founders, Scott and Sharon Kelly still perform in the group till this day. The quality of their original music combined with its message, has attracted world class talent from groups like The Trans Siberian Orchestra, The Irish Tenors, Blue Oyster Cult, Rainbow, Alice Cooper Band and Broadway who now join them on stage.

Audiences ranging in age from 8 to 80 have come to make the band's Holiday Rock Opera part of their family tradition, by coming to see it year after year.

"It truly is a Christmas rock opera," Scott Kelly enthuses. "We take the audience on a musical journey inside a snow globe aboard a metaphysical vehicle, the Arctic Flyer, in search of the meaning of Christmas. Some parts of the story are happy, some are melancholy; our music encompasses the vast range of feelings people experience during the holiday season. It is an emotional roller coaster ride, told though our original compositions which range from ballads to prog-metal There is something in the show for everyone in the family."

Indeed, the 12-strong Wizards are starting to make heads swivel with their synergy of the symphonic and the serendipitous, touching hearts and raising a psychic goblet to the roots of progressive rock. Co-founder, Lead Vocalist/ Flutist, Sharon Kelly states, "I never anticipated writing and performing our own songs would be so emotional. People in the audience, feeling the same raw emotion that inspired us to write the songs, is very moving. Especially since we see such a wide range of age in the people that attend our shows. Our music truly crosses generational boundaries."

Come out and see them as they make their annual trek to spread the Spirit of Christmas.
