Carrie Nation & the Speakeasy is a high-energy "Brass 'n' Grass" sextet from Wichita, KS. The band, whose sound has been described as "...a stagecoach in overdrive", has brought their eclectic blend of punk, bluegrass, and dixieland to packed bars, basements, and festivals across the US since their inception in the spring of 2007.

With a lineup of great musicians, the band's live show is never the same twice. Brothers Jarrod and Zachary Starling provide acoustic guitar and drums/washboard; along with Dallin Bulkley on standup bass to round out the rhythm section. Garrett Briggeman adds to the energy with 5-string banjo, while Josue Estrada's trumpet provides layers of jazz and Western to the sound. Tyler Grubb holds down double solo duties, playing both mandolin and trombone. This blend of influences and instrumentation ensures a unique and interesting show each night.

CNS plays hundreds of dates a year hitting 47 states and 5 countries. The band has built a dedicated following with their energetic live show and ability to fit on the bill with acts ranging from bluegrass to rockabilly; punk to ska. Breakneck mandolin solos melt into blaring trombone and trumpet lines, while the standup bass and feed-bucket-trap-set churn out driving rhythms that carry the force of a Kansas freight train.

Thoughtful songwriting that explores deeper, more interesting themes is what sets this band apart from the multitudes of acts content with singing about Whiskey and Women. From social satire to labor union songs to Civil War Ballads to existential journeys that explore life, death, despair, and indulgence, CNS's songs will provoke thought, incite riots, and lure your children into a life of travel and debauchery.

With 2 original LP's (2010 Self-Titled, 2013 Hatchetations) and 1 split EP ( 2012 Liberty, Solidarity, Responsibility w/ Cletus Got Shot), CNS has built a repertoire of original songs that continue morph with the progression of the band. Another 2017 full-length is on the horizon that will prove to highlight the band's musical growth, and maturity of writing.

The band's DIY mentality is shown through their self-recorded albums, self-published music, self-booked tours, and a community of local and regional visual artists that show the band's distinctly grassroots approach. CNS has been pounding the highways and byways of this great country for 8 years now, bringing their songs and stories to thousands. Always providing a high energy, drink'em down atmosphere to any place they play, CNS has proven a dedication to their live shows with a solid understanding of what entertainment really means.

Lightner
Small Stone Records Recording Artist Irata (Greensboro, NC)
Terran Severance

Coming on the heels of their triumphant performance at Yellowking's CD Release Party-where they established themselves once and for all as a band to keep your eye on in the Wichita scene, Lightner returns to the Elbow Room for this appearance with Small Stone Recording Artist IRATA, who are on tour in support of their album "Tower". Terran Severance joins the bill because they're friggin' awesome. This is a HELL of a lineup!

Of course you should all know about Lightener and Terran Severance by now...and if you know anything about Stoner Rock, you've at least heard the name IRATA. They hail from Greensboro, NC with a sound that that Angry Metal Guy said-and I quote-"...(sounds) something like Mastodon, A Perfect Circle and Deftones having a casual orgy". Or, as I like to call it, AWESOME. Their Album 'Tower' is a stand-out selection in the increasingly popular stoner/doom subgenres of rock and metal. Music videos and more can be found at their official web site, https://iratalive.com.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 or at the door for $7. Music kicks off at 9. Drink up and tune out with deep sounds and heavy grooves at The Elbow Room!

About Narcotic Wasteland

Narcotic Wasteland started as a side project Dallas Toler-Wade had been working on the past few years when he was not touring or in the writing/studio mode with "Nile."

The band's overall concept is very reflective of the city where Dallas, Edwin, and Chris grew up. Fayetteville, North Carolina, a military town, that has a PTSD rate of up to 75% in males, and is the highest rated city in the US for Shaken Baby Syndrome. The availability of street drugs is astounding, and the ever growing epidemic of addiction to pharmaceutical drugs is an extremely toxic and unstable environment to grow up and live in. A true wasteland.

Described as "up and cummers" in the southern street rock scene, G.O.A.T AND YOUR M.O.M. have been delighting audiences throughout Texas and much of the south for the last decade.

G.O.A.T.'s genre of music has been described as "backyard metal", "hillbilly hard rock", and "southern sadomasochist sound style".

Michael Anthony Gerard started this band back in 2012 after moving to Austin, TX and deciding to focus his writing style into the general direction of "smut fusion"... He can be seen (with one of the 1st line ups of this band) on Comedy Central's Tosh.0 and MTV's Ridiculousness doing his thing. He writes all the music and the lyrics. Often alternating from doing vocals and playing bass to just doing vocals so he can show you a few tricks, he has cuntinued to push the boundaries of male chauvinist piggery with his focus on the anal cavity and it's many different ways of being explored. U got the GOAT

(Union) Zack (Nasty) Vinson better known ass Zack Religious or Zodiac Zack. Former lead guitarist, current bassist, background vocalist 4 my band and the most nickname having member your MOM has ever had. He is known 4 his work w the blackened death metal band he created and started w Jordan and the GOAT; called Pain Through Fate. He wrote most of the material 4 that band. Jordan did background growls, played lead guitar and helped write the music on a few songs while the GOAT performed the vocals and helped write the lyrics.

Jordan Powers is an accomplished lead guitarist in Austin, TX. He has performed with Pain Through Fate, Self Induced Pain and his current project Unspeakable Things. He became a member of your MOM back in 2015 and his guitar playing can be heard on the 3 song studio demo called "Can U Quack?" that was released in 2016. He also does the majority of the artwork for the band. His 3D imaging helped make the Bobble Cock Doll a possibility. He has been on 2 tours w your MOM and can be seen in some YouTube videos from that tour.

Guitarist Eddie Glass and drummer Ruben Romano formed NEBULA in 1997 after breaking away from desert rock pioneers Fu Manchu, eventually recruiting bassist Mark Abshire. The power trio specializes in feedback-drenched heavy rock, incorporating liberal doses of Black Sabbath riffery, psychedelia, and space rock. The band released a number of EPs before moving onto full-length albums like 1999's To the Center and 2001's Charged. They've mainly distinguished themselves as a very hard-working live unit

NEBULA creates pure guitar-driven, conscious expanding rock for the 21st century. They are a culmination of their rock forbearers such as Jimi Hendrix, MC5, The Stooges and Mudhoney turned up a notch, taken to the next level and blasting through space. NEBULA spread their gospel through their music and what they are preaching will leave the congregation on the floor.

In 2017 the band decided to reissue three of their crucial early works via Heavy Psych Sounds Records: 1998's Let it Burn, 1999's To the Center and 2002's Dos EPs, which includes the material originally released on 1999's Sun Creature and a Nebula/Lowrider split.

Followed by the re-release of NEBULA's Charged and the special release of Demos & Outtakes '98-02 in early 2019, this summer and after 13 years will be seeing the band return with not only a new line-up but also their brand new full-length, a news that will definitely make every desert rock-heart beat faster.

Sean K. Preston & The Loaded Pistols is an internationally touring band from Baltimore, MD. Recently signed to RUSTY KNUCKLES MUSIC , their new album "Forgive" was released in November 2018. Currently, the group is touring the country to share stories told in the tongue of Americana, Punk Blues, Mountain Gospel and Rock'n'Roll.

The music of Sean K. Preston draws heavily on the influences of the classic heartbroken sounds of Country & Western music from the 40's through the 70's, the honesty of the Blues by the likes of Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker, the bombast of 50's Rock'n'Roll, the lyrical sophistication of musical poets like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave, the raw energy of Punk, and the spirituality of Mountain Gospel. His own songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions.

Sean's interest in music developed as a teenager while growing up in Alice Springs, a small desert town in northern Australia. Sean fell in love with the early Rock 'n' Roll, Country, and Blues that filled his father's record collection. When he and his family moved to the United States, Sean would go to his first rock concerts, inspiring him to learn guitar. Eventually, Sean's music took him to Ireland where he made his living performing on the streets of Dublin. His move back to Baltimore prompted a successful solo career with his self produced debut record "Hoarse Whisper" and his 6 song EP "Sean K. Preston." In 2013, Sean began to form his touring band "Sean K. Preston & The Loaded Pistols" and released a full length album, "The Colt From Old Regret." The addition of two integral members in 2013 and 2015 gave Sean the audacious sound he was searching for.

Christopher "Sparky" Spiridigliozzi went from beating on trash cans as a kid growing up in Hampton, VA to drumming and singing in gigging garage rock bands by the time he was 16. Sparky taught himself guitar during his time in the US Navy and eventually made his way to Baltimore where he spent 7 years playing guitar and singing as the frontman for Mother Jefferson. After building a career in radio and raising a family, Sparky went back to drums full time playing for numerous Baltimore based garage, surf, and punk bands. When he is not touring, Sparky is expertly repairing vintage drum kits at Baltimore's most reputable drum shop or writing and recording for his solo musical project, Sparky's BUTTERKNIFE.

Cory McGrath was raised on Black Sabbath and Bad Company in the military town of Browns Mills, NJ. His love for playing music began with drums, but he would later go on to play upright bass for 8 years with Full Blown Cherry. Cory's style is heavily influenced by the sounds of 1960's garage rock and high octane country. He currently resides in Philadelphia, PA. When Cory isn't playing music on the road you can find him hunched over his 1944 Chevy project in the garage or driving around in his 1976 Ford Torino.

Sean K. Preston & The Loaded Pistols have appeared on stage at Muddy Roots Festival, Westport Roots Festival, and Crooked Smile. They spent this past winter in the studio recording their FORGIVE and shooting music videos. With a national tour under their belts, the band is spending spring in Europe and the summer of 2019 touring the east coast with appearances at Muddy Roots & Heavy Rebel Weekender and working on new material.

It's Blues - Punk - Country - Rock'n'Roll...Amen.

Riffs. So much riffs!

On tour of the U.S. in support of their new album 'Rift', Forming the Void comes to Wichita on Sunday, October 20 for an early 21+ show with regional support from Ghost Town Strays and The OVER at The Elbow Room.

Tickets are $7 dollars at the door and $5 in advance.

Forming The Void is making serious waves with their unique and masterful blend of psychedelic stoner rock. Their home state of Louisiana can no longer contain this powerhouse and they are now winning great acclaim worldwide:

#1 on Doom Charts August 2018 #2 for 2018
"Forming the Void absolutely dominated the charts this month with 18 votes on 29 lists, many high on the individual rankings. Moving up from the #9 spot last month prior to the album release, its clear the fans and critics hear something special, and seeing them live in Vegas plus meeting and hanging out with the dudes its clear they are on the right path."

"Lousiana's Forming the Void is one of stoner metal's best-kept secrets. Last year's Relic was a potent blend of sludge, stoner and prog, accentuated by phenomenal songwriting and damn-near radio-friendly tunes that put most radio rock to shame." - Aaron (Metal Injection)

"Forming The Void are set to crush all-comers with this follow-up to their much-lauded third album Relic. Immense, imperious and armed with megaton riffs, Rift is an admirable sequel to the genre expansions of Relic and a major step forward in terms of production. There's nothing quite as odd as their sludgy cover of Kashmir this time round, but in Extinction Event, Ark Debris and glacial 10-minute closer Shrine and the rest they've created an album that ranges from shamanic atmospherics to vast, tectonic bruisers, all the while twisting the archetypal
stoner sound to their own nefarious ends."-Essi Berelian (Classic Rock Magazine)

"Turns out that there's room for a little bit more worship of The Good Riff after all. Of course, by "a little bit more," I really mean "packed full" of The Good Riff, as Rift takes no shortcuts in terms of hooking the listener with them." -Grymm (Angry Metal Guy)

Add performances from Ghost Town Strays and The Over, in a great venue with great production and great staff, and this show will be a night to remember. Like, share, and rock and roll!
