WHO'S BAD - THE ULTIMATE MICHAEL JACKSON EXPERIENCE
FRI JUNE 19
DOORS 8 | SHOW 9

Pop music. It's the songs with catchy hooks and captivating grooves that reverberate all over the globe. These songs connect us, across oceans and beyond borders. Pop songs are the stuff of legend. Pop music is the soundtrack that unites us all.

From the creative force behind "Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience" comes, "Who's Bad 20/20: The Evolution of Pop." This high voltage, multi-sensory experience takes audiences on a pop music pilgrimage that spans five decades. From the funk of the '70s to your favorite 1980's pop icons, to the electro-pop that fueled the first decade of a new century, "The Evolution of Pop," delves deep into the universal songbook of popular music. The result is an authentic live experience of the definitive songs that inspired your favorite artists - as they would have performed themselves -- on one dynamic stage.

Like its name implies, "The Evolution of Pop" is a visionary musical continuum saluting the icons of the past who paved the way for the Jumbotron-sized pop stars of today. As the musical landscape constantly shifts, "The Evolution of Pop" boasts years of performance experience at the world's most renowned stadiums and pavillions, leaving international audiences awed and yearning for more. This assembly of superior performers provides hardcore fans a seamless bridge between James Brown's signature funk; Earth, Wind, and Fire's energetic soul, the sick choreography of the Black-Eyed Peas, and the "24 karate magic" of Bruno Mars. With a single cue, "The Evolution of Pop" brings together some of America's most outstanding musicians to offer epic renditions of the most timeless and recognizable pop favorites. "Who's Bad 20/20" binds music's past, present, and future to deliver the most mind-blowing tribute to pop music's infinite canon.

As times change, pop music remains our connector. The unparalleled showmanship, high level musicianship, and extravagant stage production of "The Evolution of Pop" leaves no pop gemstone unturned, promising a sing-and-dance-along guaranteed to ignite music fans of all ages.

Big Something

Biography
A 6 piece powerhouse with a sound that is both unique and timeless, Big Something fuses elements of rock, pop, funk, and improvisation to take listeners on a journey through a myriad of musical styles. It's no secret why this group has quickly become one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from the Southeast. Soaring guitars, EWI (electronic wind instrument), synths, horns and alluring vocal hooks rise to the top of their infectious collection of songs and represent a sound that has caught the ears of such revered stalwarts as Umphrey's McGee, Moon Taxi, Galactic, moe., Robert Randolph, and even The B52s, who have all tapped Big Something as direct support.
Recently, the band released their 5th studio album The Otherside on April 20th, 2018 as a follow up to their 2017 album Tumbleweed. The Otherside was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC with the help of Grammy-nominated producer and Carolina Music Awards Lifetime Achievement recipient - John Custer (Corrosion of Conformity) who has produced all 5 of the bands albums.
On The Otherside, Big Something continues to build upon the post-apocalyptic peyote trip imagery from Tumbleweed, concluding the story of a nomad who has made it to the other side of his journey wandering through the night towards a desert sunrise. The album also showcases a different musical side of the band with a heavier, more focused and soulful collection of 8 songs including "Smoke Signal," and "Wildfire."
Big Something is Nick MacDaniels (vocals, guitar), Casey Cranford (sax, EWI), Jesse Hensley (lead guitar), Ben Vinograd (drums), Doug Marshall (bass), Josh Kagel (keys, trumpet), and Rhett Huffman (keys

The Small Town Titans are an American rock n' roll power trio from York, PA who love to constantly create, as well as play live. Gone is the notion that a rock band should only release 10 songs at a time every 2 years. In a world where music fans crave new content constantly, the Small Town Titans aim to deliver their brand of art all of the time, drawing inspiration from a newer wave of rock bands such as Highly Suspect and Royal Blood, and rock legends such as the Foo Fighters, Audioslave, and Deep Purple. Thanks to their efforts at taking matters into their own hands, STT can create and release songs, podcasts, live online concerts, and more with no rules. In a social media driven world, STT knows releasing quality, constant content is as important as playing great live shows.

An evening With Citizen Cope at the Blind Tiger. Thursday July 16,2020. Doors at 7pm show at 8pm.
Citizen Cope
Ask him how he knew it was time to record a new studio album and Clarence Greenwood, the trailblazing artist and producer better known as Citizen Cope, has a simple answer: "It was time."

Cope has built an entire career on trusting his gut and following his muse, and if his new album, 'Heroin & Helicopters,' is any indication, his instincts are sharper now than ever before. As technically innovative as it is emotionally resonant, the record arrives at a uniquely challenging moment in modern American culture, when profound political polarization and social divisions seem to grow deeper by the day. Rather than dwell on our differences, though, Cope tunes in to what unites us here, drawing on everything from Chuck Brown and The Beatles to Randy Newman and Bill Withers, aiming his unique brand of urban‑folk inwards to reflect on the personal journeys we all undertake to embrace ourselves despite our flaws.

"I think we're all on a mission to find some inner peace," he reflects. "We're all going towards this collective consciousness, and even though it's dark right now, I believe we're going to reach that place together. Peace and harmony and understanding, that's how you combat the darkness, and that's what this record is all about."

While 'Heroin & Helicopters' feels particularly timely, the record's themes have been fixtures of Cope's music since the release of his self‑titled debut in 2002. That album was the culmination of years of pursuing his passion. Cope got his musical start in DC before moving to Brooklyn, where he wrote songs while supporting himself on the streets, buying and selling concert and sporting tickets with a cast of characters outside arenas and stadiums. His music spread from fan‑to‑fan via word of mouth, and over the course of time his songs have become the soundtrack of his fans lives.
As Cope's career grew, his style of urban‑folk never settled into any particular genre in an industry fixated on arbitrary distinctions like radio formats. "I can understand why it didn't go into the cookie‑cutter. The music and my life were influenced by growing up in very distinct but different American cultures." Born in Memphis, spending summer months with his great aunt and uncle in a small west Texas town, while being primarily raised in Washington, DC, Cope grew up equally influenced by the production techniques of George Martin, Dr. Dre and Willie Mitchell while listening to everything from Willie Nelson, to John Lennon, Bob Marley, Outkast and A Tribe Called Quest. Artistic boundaries meant nothing.
That kind of self‑reflection is at the heart of 'Heroin & Helicopters,' which actually draws its title from a warning Santana shared with Cope one night backstage at The Fillmore. "Stay away from the two H's, Heroin and Helicopters" he said, because they all too often prove fatal for musicians and celebrities. The message resonated with Cope, who saw parallels with a broader culture fixated on shortcuts over self‑improvement, on mass production over quality, on greed over empathy.

"People try to politicize my music sometimes, but I don't write political records," Cope says definitively. "My music has always been built around consciousness."

The UNtold Story of Unknown

While singing his own hilariously politically incorrect songs, Unknown Hinson plays guitar in a style incendiary enough to have Satan himself reaching for the antiperspirant. But don't dismiss him as a novelty act. He's one hell of a talent and has the music to prove it!
Looking somewhat like Dracula's nasty little brother who spent some hard years drinking and working as a carnival barker for a second-rate freak show, Unknown Hinson translates that vibe to his style of country and western-tinged psychobilly. The band is now touring nationwide, wowing audiences with outrageous and campy, white-trash persona and freewheeling, sleazy tone.
Hinson's most recent CD release, "Live and Undead", melds weepy twang, searing guitar riffs and lyrics that speak of love-gone-bad. Recorded at a sold-out show, an enthusiastic honky tonk crowd sings along with the King on every song. Raucous, theatrical and over-the-top, Unknown Hinson isn't just for the trailer park set anymore!
Unknown is gaining international notoriety in the 14-34 demographic as the voice of lead character "Early Cuyler" in the popular show from Cartoon Network - "Squidbillies". The first four seasons were so well-received that an immediate green light was given to future seasons. Check website for dates and time slots.

Unknown Hinson is an international winner in the Independent Music Awards for his alternative Country track "Torture Town" from the album "Target Practice".

Bit Brigade performs rock covers of full NES game soundtracks as their gamer speedruns the game live on stage.

www.facebook.com/bitbrigade

"When was the last time you attended a live music performance with a genuine element of risk involved? And no, going to a Gwar show with a white t-shirt on doesn't count. When Bit Brigade takes the stage your mind will frantically oscillate between "Oh! Agh!! Please don't die!!" and "YES! He's doing it!!" Combining the dread and daring of a live video game speed run with the spot-on technique of a live band covering the musical accompaniment to everything you're seeing on-screen in real time, Bit Brigade will have you swinging between the two mediums. From thrashing about to live renditions of your favorite stage themes, fingers yearning to the sky in a rock 'n roll parody of sea anemones seeming to silently plead, "Please, feed us more fretboard pyrotechnics!," to being locked in stock-still rapture as the infallible maestro of the d-pad, Noah McCarthy, takes on the final boss and risks his video game life under the threat of intense peer scorn (or the reward of night-long glory and a credits score). No matter the outcome, Bit Brigade must play on until the deed is done - which it always is - on the first (and last) try. Once Noah's NES buzzes on, there's no turning back." - Metalhead Mike of The Shizz, summer 2011

The Goddamn Gallows Wewdnesday August 14,2020. Doors at 8pm show at 10pm
In 2004, THE Goddamn Gallows began their rough and tumble voyage and
haven't looked in the review mirror since. Leaving six studio albums in their
path, they have been reinventing their music with every record. Spit from the
heart of America's Rust Belt, arising from a night of flophouse violence. Drifting
across the states, they cemented their sound in Portland, OR and later in Los
Angeles, CA, where they lived in abandoned buildings, squatter camps, storage
units and shoebox apartments. In 2007, they left everything behind and spent
the next four years living out of whatever vehicle would get them to the next
town. Building upon their original sound of twanged-out, punk rock "gutterbilly"
(Life of Sin 2004 and Gutterbillyblues 2007), they began picking up stray
musicians along the way and adding to their sound; washboard, accordion,
mandolin and banjo (Ghost of th Rails 2009 and 7 Devils 2011) creating a sound
referred to as "hobocore", "gypsy-punk" or "americana-punk", while never being
stuck in any one sound. Enter 2018 and THE Goddamn Gallows have reinvented
themselves once again with The Trial. From rockabilly, psychobilly and punk
rock, to bluegrass and metal, The Trial infuses disparate sounds into a new
strange recipe of seamless genre bending profundities. Chock full of impromptu
antics of the shocking variety and hauntingly eclectic instrumentation, THE
Goddamn Gallows have made legions of fans with their legendary, live shows.
THE Goddamn Gallows have now partnered with Sailor's Grave Records to help
deliver the next chapter of their legacy to the world. The Trial begins now.

November 7, 1995 the critically acclaimed debut classic album Soul Food hit the stores and quickly became a staple in Southern Hip-Hop. From the title track "Soul Food" to hit singles "Cell Therapy" and "Dirty South", Goodie Mob would forever make their mark on Hip Hop as a whole. With notable features such as Andre 3000, Big Boi, and Sleepy Brown (to name a few), Soul Food provided much needed social commentary touching on spirituality, poverty,
and consciousness which was cutting edge at the time.
Complex included Soul Food in their top 25 Hip Hop albums of the 90's. Goodie Mob is synonymous with Southern Hip Hop, and Soul Food is their masterpiece, serving as an influence to the success of icons such as Outkast, Ludacris, 2 Chainz, and EARTHGANG, and even launching the solo career of Superstar CeeLo Green.
