The Writers Share presents:
Emily Hackett
Emily Hackett is the rare songwriter who doesn't just pour her heart into her lyrics-she inspires every listener to reach a deeper honesty in their own lives. With her stunningly detailed storytelling, the Nashville-based artist sheds light on the countless liabilities of being human, ultimately transforming even the most painful feelings into something glorious.
Ben Danaher
Drawing on the influence of legendary troubadours like Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, and Townes Van Zandt, Danaher first made a name for himself as a songwriter in Texas before relocating to Nashville. Along the way, he shared bills with Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jack Ingram, Angaleena Presley, Rhett Miller, Travis Meadows, and Amanda Shires, in addition to co-writing songs for Ryan Beaver, Bonnie Bishop, Rob Baird, and Justin Halpin among others. For his own songs, Danaher collaborated with some of Nashville fastest-rising stars, including Maren Morris, on material that blended classic country tradition with modern rock and roll sensibilities.
Adam James
Adam James is a Country music songwriter hailing from a tiny 800 person town in central Illinois. Raised by equal parts CMT and SNL, his songwriting found its own lane once he began mixing his rural perspective with sharp observational humor. His songs have been recorded by Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Chris Lane, and Wheeler Walker Jr.
Palmer Lee
Palmer Lee is a songwriter from Rogers, Arkansas. In May 2015, she graduated from Belmont University where she studied commercial voice. During her time in college, Lee began her songwriting career as half of country/folk duo 3rd & Union with Chase Coy. Their 2012 full-length debut was critically acclaimed by The Washington Post and the last track on the album, "No More," was featured on the television show Degrassi. Palmer has also released an EP and full-length record on her own.

Jerry Ryan

Jerry is known as the master of ceremonies, guitar and harmonica player. He is the director on stage delivering the timely punch lines and enjoying every second in the spotlight. He is known to say; "I hate it when I have more fun than you do." The former coach comes out in bits and routines that reminisce about high school days.

Bobby Horton

An expert musician, Bobby "plays anything that aint tied down" quips Jerry. But it is probably his physical humor that has endeared himself to Three On A String audiences throughout the years.

Bobby has found a niche as a music historian. His series of "Homespun Songs of the Civil War" has been featured in many publications and won numerous awards. His work with Ken Burns, Florentine Films is extensive. "I have two passions." says Horton. "Music and history. I've been able to combine the two and do something I love to do. ."

Brad Ryan

As a long time member of Three on a String, Brad has traveled the United States and Canada for over 30 years. Credits also include writing, producing and recording many successful commercial features including the nationally known "Rick and Bubba Theme Song".

Brad has toured Scotland with Michael Adler Ministries as a featured "fiddler" on a 10 day musical mission and outreach for Christ. Brad also moonlights as Worship Leader at Springville United Methodist Church.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
The Locust Fork Band is 46 years old! Through those 46 years, members have come and gone, but most of the original members still form the group. The band was formed in 1974 with Dwight Williams on bass, Bill Marshall and Kent Peterson on guitars and Asa Gaston on drums. Nida Threet joined in 1976 and Rick Byrd on pedal steel became a part of the group in 1994. Because of health issues, Asa retired in 2003 and Robert Churchill became the drummer. This is the group that remains today and continues to play together forming a great sound and provides their fans with fun times.

Whenever the band plays, many of their old friends come out to join the fun as well as new- comers which the band always welcomes. The memories are wonderful and the chance to make new ones are what keep the band together. With the years of playing together, the group makes a great sound with harmonizing guitars, the melodic sound of the pedal steel and vocal harmonies that come naturally. To classify the band's sound is difficult since it covers Rhythm & Blues, Western Swing and Southern Rock all in one. After 46 years, making this music is still fun and incredibly enjoyable for the members as well as the audience! Here's to many more years to come!

500 23rd St S
Birmingham, AL

The WorkPlay Theatre was built to make the audience leave saying WOW! WorkPlay has been bringing the most incredible shows to Birmingham for over 15 years. Simply put, it has superb sounding acoustics. Much thought went into everything from the construction of the room, to the dimples in the walls, to the metal railings making the acoustics sound amazing! There is not a bad seat in this listening mecca! The room seats a total of 325 people with a capacity of 450 standing and seated. The theater is primarily a General Admission room, but does offer limited seating and tables. Due to the demand for seating, we have a table reservation program for those who wish to guarantee they have a seat at a show. Sometimes, when you arrive there may be some tables available at a first come, first serve basis, but they go VERY quickly, be sure to guarantee that you have your seat and table in advance of the show. Please contact Bryan for more information - bryan@workplay.com.
