What began as Celtic Thunder's Neil Byrne and Ryan Kelly performing a series of shows together called 'Acoustic By Candlelight' back in 2012 has turned into what is now known as Byrne and Kelly.

Driven by dynamic vocal harmonies, the duo seamlessly combines genres like traditional Irish and Americana to create a fresh, Celtic folk sound that has garnered comparisons to iconic folk-rock duos like Simon & Garfunkel and The Everly Brothers.

Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, among the same spirits (and some of the actual people) who nurtured the young Elvis generations before, Paul Thorn has rambled down back roads, battled four-time world champion boxer Roberto Duran on national television, signed with and been dropped by a major label, performed on stages with Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, Sting, and John Prine among many others, and made some of the most emotionally restless yet relatable music of our time.
<P>
With 20 years of writing, touring, and entertaining under his belt, he shows no sign of slowing down with his new record, Don't Let the Devil Ride, breaking genre barriers and topping charts, putting a new twist on his already-entertaining live show.

Grace is the winner of many of the nation’s most prestigious songwriting contests, including NPR’s Mountain Stage New Song Contest, and has received grants from the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation.  Grace’s songs have been recorded by other esteemed artists, including Sara Hickman and Ruthie Foster. Her highly acclaimed independently released records, Grace Pettis (2009), Two Birds (2012), and the acoustic EP, Blue Star in a Red Sky (2018), have garnered praise from top-notch magazines, newspapers, and radio. She also holds down duties as a member (along with Rebecca Loebe and BettySoo) of the Americana/folk-pop trio Nobody’s Girl.

From an early age, Grace was encouraged to speak her mind and to express herself musically. Words and music were the family heirlooms she inherited from her parents, a traveling songwriter (Pierce Pettis) and poetry scholar (Dr. Margaret Mills Harper), who were divorced by the time she was a small child. As a result of that separation, she was raised in two very different parts of the "Deep South": the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, and the backwoods of Mentone, Alabama.

An award-winning singer-songwriter from Austin via Alabama, this isn't Pettis' first rodeo. For Grace, who has been characterized as “a little bit folk, a little bit country/Americana, and a whole lot of soul,” 2020 had many silver linings.  She signed with MPress Records, released three critically acclaimed singles – “Landon”, White Noise”, and “Drop Another Pin” (with “Landon” landing at #10 on The Bluegrass Situation’s year-end “The Women Who Wrote Our 2020 Soundtrack”), and recorded a new record in Nashville (forthcoming on MPress Records, May 2021).

George Pettis from 100 Watt Horse
100 Watt Horse is a folk and country infused garage-pop outfit currently based in sunny Tallahassee, FL. Founded in 2012 in Atlanta, GA by writer and multi-instrumentalist George Pettis, the project has taken many forms since: duo, trio, full band, etc. Together with producer Graham Tavel, George has released two LPs and three EPs while touring extensively all around the U.S and in Ireland. At the moment, George is performing as a solo act and is busy in the studio recording a follow-up to 2020’s “Dog is Good” full length (released via Philly-based Sleeper Records). With influences ranging from Elliot Smith to Arthur Russell to Brandi Carlile, Pettis writes emotionally charged melody-driven songs that are equally at home in a living room and a smoky dive bar.

Matthew Kahler plays the music of James Taylor

Streaming tickets available: https://www.stellartickets.com/o/eddie-owen-presents

As an accomplished Singer/Songwriter in his own right, Matthew Kahler has now ventured further into the musical world of James Taylor. Matthew has always admired the works of JT, one of the most notable musicians of our time, and has put together a collection of songs to perform for Taylor's fans who share this mutual admiration. Matthew will be accompanied by an all star group of musicians who will make this presentation even more complete, Jody Worrell (guitar), Gerry Hansen (percussion), Martin Kearns (piano and keyboard) and Michael C. Steele (bass). In this special tribute concert, which will showcase so many memorable songs, you will experience the very essence of James Taylor himself, in a way that will cause you to forget who is actually doing the serenading. Matthew’s connection with Eddie Owen goes back to the 1990’s. He is part of an elite group of singer-songwriters who helped form the now legendary community of Indie Music in Atlanta. His genuine talent comes through in every performance.

Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Darrell Scott mines and cultivates the everyday moment, taking the rote, menial, mundane, and allowing it to be surreal, ever poignant, and candidly honest, lilting, blooming, and resonating.

The words he fosters allow us to make sense of the world, what is at stake here, and our place in it. And ultimately, Darrell knows the sole truth of life is that love is all that matters, that we don't always get it right, but that's the instinctive and requisite circuitous allure of things, why we forever chase it, and why it is held sacred.

Darrell Scott comes from a musical family with a father who had him smitten with guitars by the age of 4, alongside a brother who played Jerry Reed style as well. From there, things only ramped up with literature and poetry endeavors while a student at Tufts University, along with playing his way through life. This would never change. <P> After recently touring with Robert Plant and the Zac Brown Band (2 years with each), and producing albums for Malcolm Holcomb and Guy Clark and being named "songwriter of the year" for both ASCAP and NSAI, these days find him roaming his Tennessee wilderness acreage hiking along the small river, creating delicious meals with food raised on his property and playing music. <P> He often leads songwriting workshops to help people tell their own truths with their stories, and is as busy as always writing, producing, performing, and just plain fully immersing himself in life. <P> <P> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aexnDmumVf8" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

A triumphant return for Seryn as the indie-folk darlings find their way back to stage and studio. This genre-bending outfit is equally at home at an intimate theatre and the biggest festival stages, playing “to the size of their hearts, not the size of their audience.” Traditional elements collide with modern ideas in a breathtaking dance, one that can only be described as “enrapturing.”

Paste magazine's “Best of SXSW,” Main stage performers at Telluride Bluegrass Fest, CMJ veterans, Seryn bring a live show that packs an emotional punch. Their music has been used in Film/TV  by the likes of Disney, Wells Fargo, VH1, MTV, Whataburger, and so many more.

SHAWN MULLINS
https://shawnmullins.com/

Shawn Mullins (born March 8, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter who specializes in folk rock, instrumental rock, adult alternative, and Americana music. He is best known for the 1998 single “Lullaby”, which hit number one on the Adult Top 40 and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Mullins was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He cultivated an interest in music beginning in his days at Clarkston High School in Clarkston, Georgia (where he made the acquaintance of friend and mentor Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls). Later, he honed his craft in his college days at North Georgia College and State University as a solo acoustic musician and bandmaster of the military marching band (Golden Eagle Band). He attended North Georgia College and State University on an Army ROTC scholarship with an intention of possibly pursuing a military career. Although he quickly abandoned this notion in favor of songwriting, the contract nonetheless obliged him after graduation to serve a short term as an inactive Infantry officer in the Individual Ready Reserve component of the U.S. Army Reserve. He served in an inactive status, reaching the rank of 1st lieutenant before fulfilling his service obligation and resigning honorably.

His critical breakthrough came when his song “Lullaby”, from the album Soul’s Core, became a radio and video hit. In the video for “Lullaby”, directed by Roger Pistole, actress Dominique Swain appeared. One of his more famous songs, “All in My Head”, was featured on the hit television sitcom “Scrubs”. This song was written after an e-mail was sent out by the producers of the new show searching for a theme song. Mullins wrote a demo version and sent it in within 24 hours. It wasn’t selected as the theme song, but the demo version was used in a season one episode of the series.

Another single, “Shimmer”, was included on the soundtrack for the TV show Dawson’s Creek and was a minor hit. “Shimmer” was also used in Australia as part of its promotional campaign during the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics and is still considered in Australia as the unofficial anthem of the games. To date he has yet to match the overwhelming commercial success of “Lullaby”, which was also released as a live performance on the charity album Live in the X Lounge II in 1999. In early 2002, he formed the supergroup The Thorns with Matthew Sweet and Pete Droge.

For its 20th anniversary, Shawn is revisiting the music of Soul’s Core by recording two new versions of the album. He is calling this Soul’s Core Revival. This is not a remix or a remaster of the original, but rather brand new recordings with new arrangements of the songs – one album will be new stripped down solo performances, some on guitar, some on piano and maybe one a cappella and the second will be a new studio recording with his full band, Soul Carnival.

Raised in North Carolina, Brooklyn-based Americana crooner Kevin Daniel is set on making NYC a destination for Nashville sounds. The songwriter and multi-instrumentalist brings southern rock, gospel, and blues to barrooms of Brooklyn and beyond. But Daniel wasn’t always chasing his dreams.

In the winter of 2013, during a dinner party in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Kevin received a phone call from his sister that would change everything. His mother and stepfather, adventure-seekers and amateur pilots, had been flying back from their mountain house in western North Carolina when their plane had crashed, killing both of them. Daniel’s life was turned upside down, his family torn apart and the world forever changed. During his return to North Carolina to help with family business, and while reliving his parent’s lives through photos, essays, and family stories, Kevin wrote over a dozen songs, all fueled by the grief of losing his parents as well as the celebration of the large lives they were known for. From those songs six were chosen to record, including one written specifically for Kevin’s parent’s memorial service.

The result of those recordings was FLY, Kevin Daniel’s inaugural EP. The six-song project was recorded in 2014 in Brooklyn and embodies the depth of Daniel’s emotions during a time of supreme distress. Southern sounds of banjo and country-loving three-part harmonies were backed by rock riffs and pop lyrics, which spoke true to life and the celebration of living. “I always knew I wanted to record my own music, and a life spent being in other people’s bands had prepared me to lead my own, both in the studio and on the stage. It was losing my parents that gave me the kick in the ass to finally do it”, says Daniel. The EP is available on all digital outlets as well as on 12-inch opaque blue vinyl.

In 2018 Kevin Daniel  finished his second EP, Myself Through You, recorded at Degraw Sound in Brooklyn, NY, and produced, engineered, and mixed by Ben Rice. Kevin gathered together a host of talented, professional musicians from all backgrounds for the project, which resulted in a richly recorded blend of genres and instruments. “When I started thinking about this EP, I knew I wanted to get some of the best musicians I know in the studio. With Ben’s help we created a space where people could come in, lay down their own version of the parts, and create something unique to them as well as the record,” says Kevin.

Kevin followed up his sophomore release with his first full length LP, ‘Things I Don’t See’. The 11-song album brings together some of New York state’s most talented musicians and producers, including Anthony Krizan (Spin Doctors), The Restless Age, John LeDeau (The National Reserve), and Kenny Siegel (Old Soul Studios). The album has taken Kevin all over the US and UK, touring both solo and with a full band, gaining global radio spins through tunes like “Used To Be”, “Pour Me A Drink”, and “Time To Rise”. Americana Highways Magazine says “Things I Don’t See showcases Daniel’s fluid ability as a songwriter to seamlessly incorporate bits of rock, soul, country, blues, roots, and Appalachia into his thoughtful examination of pain and awakenings, visceral and spiritual.” With three albums under his belt Kevin Daniel is set to release his 4th album in summer 2021, and continues to tour, obtaining official selections from Mountain Jam, SXSW, Celebrate Fairfax, The ListeningRoom Festival, and more.

The Mad Hatters...a Tribute to Tom Petty AND The Heartbreakers

Opening set by Angie Lynn Carter

Brewed in Florida, aged to perfection in LA, the genius of Tom Petty was at it's very best with the Heartbreakers. One just doesn't find a lead guitarist like Mike Campbell in a friend's back room or a keyboardist like Benmont Tench, the son of a Florida judge who had to fight to be a musician. But Tom Petty did and the Heartbreakers were every bit a 5 piece gang.

The Mad Hatters are seasoned Atlanta pro's who've made it a mission to replicate the Heartbreakers "NEW" Rock and Roll sound and vibe.. Band members include Vegas Dave Turner...Vocals/Guitar, Fred McNeal... Guitar/Vocals, Wayne Vokovich... Bass/Vocals, Todd Johnston...Drums/Vocals and Asher McKinney...Keys/Vocals.

Come, wear your best hat and have a cup of tea with the Mad Hatters!

With vivid storytelling, vibrant musicianship and arresting honesty, Anya Hinkle explores the beauty of song craft through the lens of the Appalachian string band tradition. Originally from the mountains of Virginia, Anya’s music is steeped in the tones of folk and bluegrass and seasoned by travels across the world. A founding member of Asheville-based bands Dehlia Low (Rebel Records) and Tellico (Organic Records), Anya will release tracks from her first full-length album under her own name this year on Organic Records.

Hinkle won the MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Competition in 2019 and was a finalist in the Hazel Dickens Song Contest for her song “Ballad of Zona Abston,” featured on Tellico’s 2018 release Woven Waters. The album, produced by Irish guitar legend John Doyle (Transatlantic Sessions, Joan Baez, Tim O’Brien), had a #1 single, #1 band and #2 album ranking on the Folk DJ charts in November 2018.

“[Anya Hinkle] … reminds us we cannot abandon our own humanity, even when others try to grind it out of us.”

No Depression

“Hinkle is a magnificent songwriter...both a storyteller and a poet”  FolkConnection

“Once you hear Anya Hinkle sing you will want to hear her again. If you get a chance to see her perform, take it!” Bluegrass Today

Listening to Buffalo Rose is like driving on the open road with the windows down, letting the breezes of various musical styles wash over you. Buffalo Rose commandeers the shimmering and electrifying riffs of the mandolin, (Bryce Rabideau), the cascading guitar arpeggios of folk and bluegrass, (Shane McLaughlin), the ringing purity of the dobro, (Malcolm Inglis), and the steady percussive thrum of upright bass, (Jason Rafalak), providing an effervescent blanket of sound under and around which the ethereal harmonies of Lucy Clabby, Margot Jezerc, and McLaughlin float. There’s a singular beauty in every Buffalo Rose song, whether the group is covering Madonna’s “Borderline” or delivering their stirring original material.

The members of the band met four years ago in the Pittsburgh area. “All of us were active in the Pittsburgh music scene,” says McLaughlin. Each of them was playing different kinds of music, from folk to punk. They formed in 2016 when former member Mariko Reid got together with Clabby, Inglis and McLaughlin to record McLaughlin’s tune “Momma Have Mercy.” Before long the three had met up with Rabideau and Rafalak, and the band’s first EP, Red Wagon, debuted in November 2016.

As a young musician straight out of Texas, Radney Foster spent the lengthy drives in between tour stops reading the likes of John Steinbeck, Larry McMurtry, and Harper Lee. Over 30 years of artist cuts later, there is no question that he himself is an established storyteller. Whether it’s navigating the ever-changing music industry or battling a sudden, terrifying illness – Foster definitely has a story to tell.

In late Fall 2015, the legendary songwriter got the diagnosis every musician fears-- a severe case of pneumonia and laryngitis. However, for someone who’s been producing songs for almost 40 years, the desire to write doesn’t fade along with the voice. During a grueling six week period of vocal constraint, Foster’s creative side emerged in the form of a short story inspired by the song, titled “Sycamore Creek,” and the idea for Foster’s newest endeavor was born.

For You To See The Stars is a project comprised of two parts – a book and a CD. The book is a collection of short stories published by Working Title Farm. Though the stories are fiction, they are informed by Foster’s upbringing on the Mexican border in Del Rio, TX. The story that most closely resembles memoir, “Bridge Club,” is a humorous and poignant retelling of the song “Greatest Show on Earth,” a recollection of playing music with family and friends on the back porch on a Saturday night.

While it’s evident that Texas has always been an inspiration for his music, in For You To See The Stars, Foster explores various landscapes, both physical and emotional, from the story of a retired spy in New Orleans, to the tale of a Dallas lawyer wandering the Rocky Mountains in search of redemption, to a post apocalyptic parable of a world in endless war.

For You To See The Stars is Radney Foster’s eleventh album. Foster has written eight number one hit singles, including his own “Nobody Wins,” and “Crazy Over You” with duo Foster & Lloyd. His discography contains countless cuts by artists ranging anywhere from country (Keith Urban, The Dixie Chicks, Luke Bryan, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) to contemporary (Marc Broussard, Hootie & The Blowfish, Kenny Loggins, Los Lonely Boys). Although highly recognized and accomplished in the music world, Foster is a true renaissance man. In addition to For You To See The Stars being his first book, Foster recently starred in the world premiere of "Troubadour,” at Atlanta’s Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre.  He also appears in the upcoming feature film, Beauty Mark.

For You To See The Stars is Foster at his classic storytelling best, both as a seasoned singer/songwriter and a soulful writer of prose. Although both components stand alone as separate pieces of art-- they are meant to be enjoyed together for a reason. When coupled, the book and CD give fans a deeper insight into the subconscious of Foster’s storytelling. Journalist Peter Cooper puts it best, “Radney Foster writes with uncommon depth of emotion, humor, empathy, and clarity. I’m going to ask him how he does it, and if he tells me I’ll let you in on his secret. Until then, it’s best that we read, wonder, and revel.”

The Hogslop String Band is a Nashville based band comprised of four talented young musicians hailing from Georgia & Tennessee. This dynamic quartette is comprised of Kevin Martin on the fiddle, Gabriel Kelley on guitar, Daniel Binkley on banjo and Pickle on washtub and standup bass. Hogslop has shared stages with the likes of Avett Brothers, Lucas Nelson, Del McCoury, Charlie Louvin, Punch Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, Dom Flemons, and many more.

First and foremost, Hogslop is rooted in traditional southern American old-time string band music. Each member of the band was naturally exposed to this wonderful musical heritage through family and friends--just the way traditional music has always been passed down. With influences ranging from The Byrds to John Prine, Doug Kershaw (Guest Appearing on the album) to the 1920's sound of The Skillet Lickers, their new direction is something not easily defined, but unmistakably Southern, unmistakably raw and exciting. lending their old-time sensibility to a fresh new sound.

If you’ve never seen Hogslop live, you’re missing out on one of the most exciting, floor-stomping musical rides you’ll ever see!
