Ben de la Cour
"Ben de la Cour's songs are brimming with urgent authenticity. There is thematic hardness and vulnerability throughout, but what distinguishes de la Cour's songs from lesser guitar-and-anguished-vocals hacks is the raw humanity of his delivery and the potency of his way with words." (No Depression)
Select, socially-distant seating available.
"Sometimes I have to stop listening to a Pierce Pettis track halfway through because he makes me want to give up on songwriting. Pierce is a master musical storyteller, delivering human truth and heartbreaking vulnerability with every tune. He's also an unnecessarily virtuosic guitarist with the voice of some beautiful angel who also happens to be your old, familiar friend. All of it completely unfair."
- Justin Paul, writer/composer "La La Land", "Dear Evan Hansen"

Highbeams are a trio of brothers that play emotive, high energy Folk Rock. Since their first show on New Years Eve 2012, the band has captured audiences all over the Southeast with their warm, personable stage presence and rich three-part harmonies. Highbeams have traveled all over the U.S. performing hundreds of shows every year; including opening slots for acts like Vertical Horizon, Chase Bryant, Col Bruce Hampton, and the Grammy nominated duo, Brothers Osborne.
"Stirring vocals...from a promising new band." - C-Ville Weekly
"...toothsome and satisfying..." - Popshifter on West of Here
"It's is almost impossible not to be moved, physically and metaphorically, by the gorgeously composed tracks on this album." - Wordkrapht on Follow
The Currys have been staking their claim within the Americana music scene since 2013, when vocalist/guitarist Tommy Curry quit his teaching job and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, to join the harmony-based folk-rock outfit newly formed by brother Jimmy Curry (vocals, guitar) and cousin Galen Curry (vocals, bass). The band, who cut their teeth playing the oyster bars and listening rooms of the Florida Panhandle, has since written and released two full-length albums: their studio debut Follow (2014), called "eye-opening, but warmly familiar" by Earmilk, and whose title track is "one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard" (Todd Moe of NCPR); and sophomore effort West of Here (2016), with its "tight-as-a-rubber-band" harmonies and "infectious" songwriting (PopMatters).
For their third album, This Side of the Glass (2019), The Currys teamed up with producer/guitarist Sam Whedon and engineer Stewart Myers (Jason Mraz, Parachute) to map new terrain. As ever, the band's three-part family harmonies provide the organic, lived-in feel of roots music, but the album aspires to a greater variety of form and orchestration than earlier releases. The songs defy any neat categorization: the country nostalgia of "Gulf Coast Home" complements the folk-pop sensibility of "Pin You Down," while the guitars and gang vocals of "Soon Enough" pay unmistakable homage to Paul Simon's "Graceland."

"The simple fact is that James McMurtry may be the truest, fiercest songwriter of his generation..."
Stephen King (Entertainment Weekly)
New Album from James McMurtry Due Out 2020!
James McMurtry has been working with legendary Los Angeles-based producer Ross Hogarth at Santa Monica's GrooveMasters for his forthcoming album. Liner notes enthusiasts know multiple-Grammy-winning producer/engineer/mixer Hogarth from his work with Gov't Mule, Roger Waters, The Black Crowes, Shawn Colvin, John Mellencamp, R.E.M.and Jewel, among many others. Hogarth's wide and varied experience and taste opened up all creative doors and usual and unusual possibilities for all their classics. And no need to explain the incredible GrooveMasters Studio.
Hogarth has never allowed himself to be pigeonholed or trapped in any one musical genre as his studio work runs the gamut from the heavy metal icons Mötley Crüe to the Grammy-winning Americana favorite Keb' Mo' to recent releases by Van Halen, Ziggy Marley and the Sick Puppies. Exclusive and particular in its clientele, the semi-private Santa Monica recording studio where McMurtry will be recording has recently opened its doors to Laurel Canyon legends such as David Crosby, Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, David Bromberg and more. The spiritual vibe and feel of this studio, along with the cast of characters, will most definitely bring out the best in the upcoming McMurtry record.
Other notable players on the album (in addition to his stellar band) include David Grissom (John Mellencamp) and Harmoni Kelley (Kenny Chesney). McMurtry will unleash this latest collection of poignant and timely songs on New West Records this fall! "I first became aware of James McMurtry's formidable songwriting prowess while working at Bug Music Publishing in the '90s," says New West President John Allen. "He's a true talent. All of us at New West are excited at the prospect of championing the next phase of James' already successful and respected career." McMurtry joins New West's singular roster of top-tier roots music all-stars including Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, John Hiatt, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Buddy Miller, Nikki Lane and dozens more.
Folk Legends may seem to be a pretentious name, but it may be the only name appropriate for the collective talents of George Grove, Rick Dougherty and Jerry Siggins. These three men have been involved with music from the great Folk Era since the actual days of the great Folk Era.
Along the way, all three gentlemen became close friends with and performed on the same stages with the best known names of the folk and the folk-rock eras: Peter Paul & Mary, Tom Paxton, Judy Collins, Barry MacGuire, The New Christy Minstrels, The Brothers Four, The Chad Mitchell Trio, The Mamas & The Papas, The Association, John Sebastian, Josh White Jr, The Limeliters, Glenn Yarbrough, The Kingston Trio, Pete Seeger... Yes, this is a list of musical icons, but it is also a list of people with whom they've performed, traveled, written songs and shared meals. These are the friends and memories Folk Legends brings to life with the memorable and exciting music of the Great American Folksong Book™.
