Chi-Town Transit Authority is a rocking seven piece band created in the image of the original configuration of the rock group Chicago. Each band member authentically recreates the sound of the original members - for example, our bass player sings the Peter Cetera parts, our keyboardist sings the Robert Lamm parts, etc.
We don't carry any back-up singers or front of house singers so often used in other tribute bands because of the challenging vocals.
We also play a wide variety of Chicago's catalogue, including the big hits, the fan favorites, and the soulful and rocking deeper cuts found on their first few albums.

"NEVER A DULL MOMENT!"
"THE SHOW WAS FANTASTIC! I WOULD DEFINITELY ATTEND THIS SHOW AGAIN NEXT YEAR!"
The high-stepping spirited musical selections have audiences clapping along from the first lively renditions of popular contemporary Christmas classics: 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen', 'Little Drummer Boy', 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town'; also 'Count Your Blessings', 'White Christmas' and John Lennon's perennial 'Happy Christmas'. The show presents a perfect combination of modern Christmas hits, lively ancient Irish Carols, hilarious spontaneous humor, thrilling Irish dancing, a children's choir and lush string arrangements giving audiences a most memorable interactive Christmas experience.
Christmas with The Celts is the name of the holiday show from the music group The Nashville Celts. The Nashville Celts are Laura McGhee from Dundee Scotland on vocals/fiddle, Fiachra O'Regan from Connemara, Ireland of uilleann pipes, Ric Blair on vocal-guitar-bodhran & piano, Will Clark on vocals/mandolin/banjo and others including the crowd pleasing Irish dancers.
Show founder, Grammy nominated songwriter, and film score composer Ric Blair says, "You can't listen to Celtic music and not be happy. Christmas with the Celts isn't just a concert; it is a spiritual experience of music and dance uniting communities. It's about bringing young and old together. It is a music of the people. I think that is why this unique melding of modern Christmas hits and organic Celtic instrumentation continues to resonate and grow in popularity every year with audiences."
The first live performance of Christmas with The Celts was in front of a sold-out audience at the original Grand Ole Opry (voted top venue by Pollstar) the world-famous Ryman Auditorium. The Nashville Celts pack concert halls around the world including The Grand Ole Opry, The Lincoln Center, and Performing Arts Centers, Theaters and large Casinos across the country; including multiple appearances on NPR, WSM Radio, PBS shows like Music City Roots and The Bluegrass Underground. Later this year they are set to appear on the Woodsong's Old Time Radio Hour which also airs on PBS. Blair credits much of their success to their exposure on PBS. The group has shared the stage with Vince Gill, Cathy Jordan, Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh of Altan, Ricky Skaggs, Tim O'Brien, Patty Loveless, just to name a few.

The Night Travelers
The Night Travelers are a virtuosic, artistic and charismatic musical duo with the acoustic impact and harmonic depth to please any audience.
Drawing on multiple genres (World, Bluegrass, Folk, Country,Americana, Blues, Jazz, Dawg, Celtic, Classical, and Pop/Rock) and focusing on tone and presence by creating incredible virtuoso arrangements for each instrument, The Night Travelers create a sound which presents as if way more than two people were playing. As detailed melodic lines on both instruments weave and dance around each other, audiences often comment that they could swear they hear at least 4 instruments playing and are mesmerized by the sound and carried away.
Combining these special techniques and philosophies with Master level musicianship allows The Night Travelers to lift the simple combination of a banjo, and bass above average expectations, radiating an orchestral quality which transcends genres in a distinctive voice all their own.
James McKinney, banjoist, vocalist, and band leader, is one of the most innovative and masterful players in the world today and will continually surprise and amaze you. James, 1982 national banjo champion, has performed, toured, or recorded with all the master bluegrass players and musical legends such as Vassar Clements, John Hartford, Barbara Mandrell, Porter Wagoner, Johnny Cash, and also The Grateful Dead.
Niki Portmann, the group's bassist and second vocalist, is an astounding and highly skilled player in her own right, producing soulful and wonderfully tuned bass lines which will hypnotize and have you moving to the music. An electrical engineer and physicist, Niki started her musicianship late in life and combined her love of music with her driving work ethic and rapidly developed exceptional skills with her Bass and composition.
Together they create a blend of Americana, Folk, and World acoustic music that is truly unique and memorable.
