Our daily itineraries will include jaunts to Asia, North and South America, Europe, and more as we visit the Museum’s galleries and investigate art from around the world. Take a break in the studio between destinations for an art “pit stop,” and capture your adventure by painting, drawing, sculpting, and collaging.

Story Makers

From tall tales and legends to daring adventures and fairy tales, every work of art has a story! What’s your story? Dive into story-making fun as we explore whimsical worlds and meet magical creatures in this camp for kids who love “once upon a time.” We’ll search for pirates and heroes, unicorns and dragons, knights and fairies in the Museum’s galleries, and then create our own scenic paintings, silly character puppets, drama-worthy collages, and much more.

Arts and Craft Lab

If you’re comfortable with a paintbrush and a glue gun, this camp is for you! Learn how art and craft work together to make the world more functional, beautiful, and fun. Search the galleries for abstract paintings, supersized sculpture, textiles, and furniture, and then experiment in the studio with felt, leather, paint, cardboard, beads, and more. You’ll create art to wear, art to gift, and art that shares your unique point of view.

Mix It Up

How many different art materials can you use in a week? Count your way to the answer with inspiration taken from artworks in the Museum’s collection! Learn about landscape, still life, collage, prints, and abstract art while using your imagination and a colorful combination of wacky and traditional materials to create your own masterpieces. By the end of the week, you’ll be a master materials-mixer!

Paper Cuts

Crumple, paint, glue, or cut—paper is a superstar in the art studio! Push your skills in this camp exploring the versatility of paper as we make handmade paper, collage, weave, watercolor, and explore how artists transform this ordinary material into extraordinary artworks. Find inspiration in drawings, paintings, and prints, and then fold, tear, sculpt, and paint your way to paper perfection.

Maker Lab

Do you like to tinker, experiment, or make? Then join us for a week of solving design challenges inspired by works of art and incorporating lots of different making techniques from low tech to high tech. Explore the intersection of science, engineering, art, and more as we fiddle, doodle, and design in the studio. Work with a laser cutter, leather, circuits, and more. If you can think it, we’ll try to make it!

Paint, Print & Pattern

Stripes and dots, blues and greens, paint and paper—mix it all together and what do you get? Endless combinations of art! Take a whirlwind tour through the Museum’s galleries and discover how artists use different media and methods to create landscapes, portraits, and abstract paintings. Learn both basic painting and printmaking skills in the studio, and discover your own secret recipe for awesome art.

Tinker Tots

All aboard the STEAM train! Spend the week building, experimenting, and making art in this camp that’s the perfect blend of science and art. Create crystallized paintings, build balanced sculptures, construct colorful collages, and make art that moves, fizzes, and bubbles. Let’s get tinkering!

Wonder Lab

Perfect for the kid who asks WHY and HOW, this camp asks what happens when you mix art and science together? Answer: You get some very creative results! Spend a week experimenting with materials, crafting hypotheses, and creating art as we explore the intersection of art and biology, botany, astronomy, and more. Gather data in the galleries and test your skills in the studio-lab. Investigate, and then create!

Wizard Art School

Accio campers! If you love a certain lightning-scarred wizard and wish you could live in a magical school, then grab your wand and get ready for a week of artistic wizardry. Each day will be devoted to a different magical pursuit, filled with gallery visits and art making in the studio. Can you transfigure ordinary supplies into truly magical masterpieces? Lions and tigers and ART—oh, my! Get ready for a roaring good time with daily safaris through the Museum to discover animals in art from all over the world. We’ll let our imaginations run wild while making our own animal-inspired artworks in the studio with paint, clay, fabric, and more!

Sense-sational Art

Have fun with your five senses as we experience art with more than just our eyes. We’ll find inspiration in works of art from the Museum’s collection, and then experiment in the studio with collage, painting, drawing, printing, and more. Make a texture collage, test your sense of smell, try blindfolded painting, and more. Each day will focus on a different sense, leading up to a final exhibition that will be a true sense-sation!

World Travelers

Pack your bags and grab your passport—we’re off on an around-the-world art adventure! We’ll travel the globe as we explore the Museum’s galleries, investigating the creativity and art of cultures near and far. Then you’ll paint, draw, collage, and build sculptures in the studio to capture your whirlwind adventure. Ready? Let’s go!

Art Olympics
July 29–August 2

No need to qualify for these Art-lympics, because every camper is a champion! We’ll take an artistic approach to celebrating the 2024 Summer Olympics and learn all about the original Olympic games more than 2,000 years ago. We’ll track the Olympic medal count in real time and take a closer look at artworks from countries competing in the Paris games. In the studio, compete in art games, make your own Olympic medal, design a flag, and create a masterpiece worthy of a gold medal.

Magical Places

Ever wish you could visit Neverland, The 100 Acre Wood, Arendelle, or Narnia? We’ll take imaginary visits to all our favorite make-believe places in this camp for young artists who love fairy tales and magical adventures. Build your own fairy garden or gnome home, create magical paintings, make a wintry snow globe, and more. It will be a truly enchanting week!
