Christopher Robin has decided to run away with his friends Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and the rest. Probably they'll go to the North Pole or to the South Pole. For there is a dark, mysterious threat that he's to be sent away to Education. Nobody knows exactly what or where that is, and if he's sent to such a distant place, what can his friends possibly do without him? So it's generally agreed that they'll run away. As the situation becomes clearer, Christopher Robin isn't quite so sure that running away is the answer.

The Malpass Brothers are as authentic as stone-ground grits, hush puppies &
chopped pork barbecue -- and they’re every bit as good. It doesn’t matter if
you’re already a fan of classic old-time “real” country music when you take
your seat. You will be by the time you leave the hall.
As young boys in eastern North Carolina, Christopher and Taylor Malpass soaked
up the music of their granddad's jukebox in his country store. Christopher
earned his first talent show trophy at age 7, and Taylor was playing mandolin
by the time he was 10. Today, they promote the work and music of classic
country artists they treasure while creating new music and making their own
mark in the lineage of a rich American cultural heritage.
With palpable charisma and an utter ease on stage that belies their years, their
smooth vocal blend and skillful musicianship layer reverently into the deep
respect paid to their heroes and legends who paved the way. Add the funny,
off-the-cuff quips between the two siblings, and the engaging concert becomes
a magnetic time-traveling journey to when a calmer rhythm reigned supreme.
The Malpass Brothers toured with the late Don Helms, former steel guitarist for
Hank Williams. They opened for mentor and iconic music legend Merle Haggard
for seven years, and they have appeared on stages from the Shetland Islands to
Ryman Auditorium, from the Stagecoach Festival to the US Library of Congress,
from “Larry’s Country Diner” to Merlefest. Current concert venues span the
gamut — performing arts centers, colleges and universities, bluegrass and roots
music festivals, music halls and celebrations highlighting Americana and
vintage country music. Gifted musicians and songwriters, the brothers have
shared billing with artists including Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Rhonda Vincent,
Marty Stuart, Bill Anderson, the late Doc Watson and more.
This is the real deal, folks. There is no pretense. This is music steeped in the
legacy of the Louvin Brothers, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Sr.
& others. “When we go to visit our heroes in Nashville,” remarks Christopher,
“we have to go to the cemeteries.”
A public television documentary film by Minnow Media entitled “The Malpass
Brothers: Heading Home” is currently in production, slated for its official
broadcast premiere in February 2018.

The Malpass Brothers are collaboratively managed & represented by Stephen
Barefoot at goingbarefoot in Durham, NC and Dan Mann at Live Arts &
Attractions in Nashville, TN.
