PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Violist Marcus Thompson is one of Boston's most treasured musicians and has had a distinguished career as a soloist, chamber musician, artistic director of the Boston Chamber Music Society, and longtime professor at MIT and New England Conservatory. He is joined by another jewel of the Boston area, pianist Judith Gordon, in a program which will include a new
work by John Harbison, as well as works by Bach and Schumann.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

American pianist Arthur Greene has been called “a masterful pianist” by The New York Times and “a profound musician” by The Washington Post. Launched with victories at the Kapell, Bachauer, and Busoni competitions, his career has landed him performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra and San Francisco, Utah, and Tokyo and National symphonies, along with recitals in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the major concert halls of Asia.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Boston Conservatory at Berklee Piano Professor Ya-Fei Chuang is a brilliant and charismatic artist who finds herself at home with the most demanding virtuoso works. She is a champion of contemporary composers and a masterful chamber musician, and has performed with orchestras, in recital, and at festivals worldwide to great acclaim. Her recordings of the complete piano works of Ravel and Liszt Opera Transcription will be released this year, adding to her highly praised and eclectic discography. For this energizing Piano Masters Series concert, Chuang will perform works by Liszt and Ravel.

Seully Hall is one of the original performance venues of The Boston Conservatory. Located on the 4th floor of 8 The Fenway, Seully Hall seats 125 and is used for many different types of productions as well as classroom and meeting space.

The venue is handicap accessible. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early pick up tickets. Seating is always first come, first served. Please note, during Red Sox baseball season, traffic is particularly heavy, and parking is scarce. For easiest travel, public transportation is recommended.
