PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
It can be hard to stay tough as a woman in this industry and country, but it's a lot easier to remember your self-worth when you surround yourself with powerful, loving, and positive women. The Girls Like You tour is about bringing that feeling of lady power and love to life. Plainfacedgirl and Maria Ellis are two of the baddest women I met during our time at Berklee College of Music, and they make my best better. We recognize the power in women lifting other women up and want to celebrate that. By striving to be the most authentic versions of ourselves, we give others permission to do the same for themselves.

Quarter Century Classix, the newest project from Sydney, Australia-born singer-songwriter Ben Lee, showcases covers from a particularly vibrant era in indie rock.

The project started out of boredom and necessity while Lee was touring Chicago with his duo Radnor & Lee, featuring actor Josh Radnor from How I Met Your Mother. He reminisced about his first trip to the Second City 25 years earlier. Among his fondest memories was spending hours at the city's record stores.

"Records were so expensive by the time they got imported to Australia, so I spent a lot of time flipping through the crates," said Lee. "I remember buying the first Fugazi record on that trip." Just 15 years old, Lee was already a seasoned music veteran in Australia, fronting the alt-rock band Noise Addict. The band supported Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Pavement, Sebadoh, and others.

At heart, Quarter Century Classix is closer to a musical memoir and a statement of self.

Gritty and raw folk-rock outfit The Wolff Sisters, who first broke into the Boston music scene as an acoustic trio. With haunting harmonies and songs reminiscent of washed up wanderers on New England's coast, Rebecca, Rachael, and Kat have stolen Boston's heart. Born to a poet and a musician, they grew up on the heavy realism of Dylan and Springsteen blended with the loose and loud Rolling Stones. Drawing inspiration from blues giants such as Howlin' Wolf and Dawes, The Wolff Sisters transcend genre. In 2015, the trio amplified their performance with the addition of Will Rodriguez on drums, and a talented cast of rotating bass players. The band seeks to bring that loose blues, roots, and rock 'n' roll sound back into the forefront of the music scene.

Billy Raffoul's anthemic debut single "Driver" serves as a potent calling card for the 22-year-old singer-songwriter. His signature gravelly, soulful voice and deeply felt lyrics compliment a rough-hewn, low-timbered rock 'n' roll that nods to the likes of Jeff Buckley, Neil Young, and Joe Cocker. "That's one thing for me, a song needs to be about something I've experienced or something someone close to me is going through," Raffoul says of his sources of inspiration. "I find myself going back to moments from the past, picking apart these little experiences and building them into bigger things. I want people to know that the songs are genuine, they've been lived in."

Nick Black is fun, optimistic, and authentic. His music is a full-embodied piece of art that will change your whole mood instantly. Influenced by the feel-good music of Justin Timberlake, Al Green, Sting, and Bruno Mars, Nick has created his music to sound unique, yet familiar and nostalgic. He sees the
world through a very clear lens where he takes people and experiences for what they are while also learning from them as they are. In return, both he and his music are true, honest, perceptive, and passionate. Always wanting to be a star and perform on a stage in front of as many people as the eye
could see, Nick Black is determined now more than ever to reach and exceed his goals. His stage presence is proof that he was always destined to be an entertainer. Black is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable names in the Pop/Soul music scene. He grew up between two worlds: his family's deep ties to church, and Memphis where Soul, RnB, Rock N' Roll, and Blues legends made names for themselves, Black's sound is an organically grown
phenomenon. Since his first album in 2012, The Soul Diaries, his authenticity and passion has been the foundation of his identity, both as a person and as an artist. Venturing into new territory with his recently released single, "Grenadine", Nick is excited to pursue his curiosity in electronic music,
adding dance beats to his extremely versatile sound.
He has been featured on "Muscle Shoals to Music Row", a concert series filmed at legendary Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, as well as on Americana and Roots channel DittyTV as one of their featured artists.
Black won the 2015 Juneteenth awards for "Album of the Year" and "Band of the Year", The Pioneer Award for "Most Promising Male Entertainer". He also won the 2016 Blues Music Award for "Band of the Year" for his work with award-winning blues and boogie-woogie band Victor Wainwright & The
WildRoots.
Black is now touring nationally.

After a long period of not releasing new music, Dotan is back with his boldest sound yet. In search of himself and a deeper connection with his music, Dotan left Amsterdam for California, finding key new collaborators to help express the colorful sounds living in his head. His single “Numb" features an evolved, eclectic, and vulnerable sound with influences from electronic and pop music.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Over the course of two decades together, Los Angeles based indie rock band Louden Swain has released a series of impressively accomplished albums, toured successfully throughout North America, Europe, and Australia, and built a dedicated social media following-all without the support of a mainstream record label.

Taking their name from the plucky protagonist of the '80s film Vision Quest, singer Rob Benedict, bassist Mike Borja and drummer Stephen Norton launched the band in 1997, after meeting at a party in Los Angeles. Their early punk-inspired sound quickly expanded into a more adventurous and experimental sensibility, while maintaining the tuneful, emotionally open approach that first endeared the group to its fans on the early
releases 2001's Able-Legged Heroes, 2003's Overachiever, and 2006's Suit And Tie.

The addition of lead guitarist Billy Moran in 2006 allowed the band to finally realize the sonic vision that they'd been hearing in their heads.

Those epic visions and expanded horizons manifested themselves on the albums A Brand New Hurt (2009), Eskimo (2011), Sky Alive (2014), No Time Like The Present (2017), and their most recent release - an acoustic re-imagining of songs from their vast catalog - Splitting The Seams (2018). Along the way the band discovered a rabid fanbase propelled by fans of The CW's hit television show Supernatural which featured lead singer Rob Benedict in the role of Chuck The Prophet.

Splitting The Seams is a new chapter for Louden Swain, one that reconnects them with their past, while forging ahead into new territory as they continue to reach out to both old and new audiences on the road throughout 2019.

The seven-piece band is pulling people out of their solitary lives and putting them in the moment with a bracing dose of joyful jazz performed with infectious theatricality. The New York City-based, familial collective has captured its frenetic energy and unflinchingly optimistic songwriting on its debut album,Leaving Egypt.

Sammy Miller and The Congregation has been described as a mashup of the sensibilities of Ben Folds and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The band freely mixes vocal and instrumental tracks live and on record, asking the audience to go along for the ride with the lead melody being carried by vocalists half the time, and instruments the other half.

The seven-piece group is a community of adventurous and charismatic superstar musicians who are conservatory-trained but who have not lost their childlike wonder and awe for playing music. The band lineup is Sammy Miller, drums and vocals; Sam Crittenden, trombone; Ben Flocks, tenor sax; Sammy's sister Molly Miller on guitar; Alphonso Horne, trumpet; Corbin Jones, bass and tuba; and David Linard, piano. Independently, the band members have performed and recorded with notable artists including Wynton Marsalis, Lady Gaga, Jason Mraz, and Beyonce.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Aditya Prakash, an award-winning vocalist known for his powerful and emotive voice, is one of the foremost young virtuosos of Carnatic music, the traditional classical style of South India.

A Los Angeles native, Prakash's intensive musical studies began during his childhood, from a family richly immersed in South Indian arts and culture. At only 16 years of age, he became one of the youngest musicians to tour and perform with sitar maestro Ravi Shankar, accompanying him at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and Disney Concert Hall.

Today Prakash continues to collaborate with leading innovators and artists, including Anoushka Shankar (featured on her GRAMMY nominated album, Traveler), Armenian pianist Tigran Hamasyan (working together on a new album planned for release in 2021), Asian Underground artist Karsh Kale, and most recently the acclaimed dancer and choreographer Akram Khan in his final solo work, XENOS, touring internationally from 2018-202.

In 2010, Prakash founded the Aditya Prakash Ensemble. The group's unique collaboration took root during the members' ethnomusicology studies at UCLA, where their horizons for new cross-cultural musical explorations were vastly expanded. The group of imaginative young musicians, while bridging seemingly disparate styles of music, created a boldly innovative and dynamic mix of Indian classical ragas, chants, and rhythms with the modern sounds of brass band arrangement, jazz harmony, and hip-hop infused beats. They have established a space where Indian classical and jazz aesthetics intertwine in an engaging, contemporary way.
