Contaminated presents. Infected sticks and stones. Who says Santa has been vaccinated? Not even an elf! Expect the big-boned guy with a glandular problem to, once again, home invade your chimney without the slightest nod to modern science. Santa flicked the light switch and it's suddenly back to a safe capitalist holiday for all.

Like an obsessed and shell-shocked St. Nick from quarantine, John Waters, the “people’s pervert” or “queer Confucius” as the press recently called him, is back after a two-year home detention in Baltimore, hitting the road again for his 25th Annual Xmas Tour. Bad little boys and girls and everybody in between and beyond, will be thrilled to take a sleighride-of-sleaze down the slopes of good taste and over the ski jump of religious beliefs to a snow drift of candy cane anarchy.

There’ll be no silent nights this year. The sanitization of Christmas cookies and the wiping down of presents must stop. It’s time to celebrate. Touch your face! Breathe on your family! Sit in the middle seats on airplanes. Dance naked in retirement homes. It’s fun! It’s a John Waters Christmas and fa-la-la, you’re not dead yet.

Note: Content may be inappropriate for patrons under 16.

VIP includes Gold Circle seating, one signed poster, and admission to an after-show Q&A and "fireside chat" with John.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Enjoy the sights and sounds of live music with an international cast of students celebrating the artistry and songwriting prowess of Taylor Swift. Produced by Maureen McMulan ’09, this concert will feature a diverse array of Berklee’s most outstanding vocalists, instrumentalists, arrangers, and track producers as they interpret some of Swift’s most popular songs including “Shake It Off,” “You Belong With Me,” “Blank Space,” “Love Story,” “Bad Blood,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” and “Cardigan,” showcasing Swift’s wide and varied stylistic range.

Taylor Swift is one of the most prolific American performer-songwriters of the 21st century, with over 200 million records sold worldwide. Swift’s evolution from rising country artist to established pop icon has placed her among the most feted of American artists, with 11 Grammys, 11 MTV Awards, and 12 Country Music Awards. Named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time, Swift holds the records for the most Billboard Music Awards (25) for any female artist; and the most American Music Awards (32) for any artist in history. Her album Fearless was named by NPR as among the all-time Greatest Albums Made By Women, for its message of liberation and self-affirmation, and her 2018 series of stadium concerts, in support of her album Reputation, remains the highest-grossing North American tour of all time for any female artist, surpassing her own previous record set in 2015.

Today, Taylor Swift continues her reign atop the American music industry, shaping the landscape with a fiercely devoted army of social media followers (the 200+ million “Swifties”) who recently propelled her to a record third-consecutive “Artist of the Year” American Music Award, as well as an unprecedented third “Album of the Year” Grammy.

Marisa Monte stormed onto the music scene in her native Brazil in the late 1980’s and has remained center stage ever since. Releasing one wildly successful project after another, this 4X Latin GRAMMY Award winner, is recognized as the greatest Brazilian singer of her generation. In addition to her groundbreaking solo albums and her longtime work with the influential super group Tribalistas with Arnaldo Antunes and Carlinhos Brown, Monte has collaborated with a who’s-who of international artists including Jorge Drexler, Julieta Venegas, David Byrne, Philip Glass, Arto Lindsay, Gilberto Gil, Seu Jorge, Caetano Veloso, to name a few. Monte’s 2022 U.S. tour celebrates the release of the singer’s newest project Portas (Phonomotor/Sony Music). Recorded across multiple continents during the pandemic, the album is Monte’s first solo release in a decade. Says Monte: “I started my life in music at the age of 19 and I've never been so long without singing live and without meeting my audience. I'm really missing it!”

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Since the release of Kingfish, his Grammy-nominated 2019 Alligator Records debut, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has quickly become the defining blues voice of his generation. From his hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi to stages around the world, the now 22-year-old has already headlined two national tours and performed with friends including Vampire Weekend, Jason Isbell and Buddy Guy (with whom he appeared on Austin City Limits). He was interviewed by Sir Elton John on his Apple Music podcast, Rocket Hour, and recently released a duet with Bootsy Collins. In January 2021, Ingram was simultaneously on the covers of both Guitar World and DownBeat magazines, and graced the cover of Living Blues in late 2020. Rolling Stone declared, “Kingfish is one of the most exciting young guitarists in years, with a sound that encompasses B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and Prince.”

In the two years since Kingfish was released, there have been major events that have altered his life both personally and professionally. “There has been much change, happiness and despair in my life,” Ingram says of his last two years. Right as his career was taking off, he lost his mother and biggest champion, the late Princess Pride Ingram. Christone toured for 13 months non-stop, until the pandemic halted live performances and forced him to take stock. As he was thinking about the man he was becoming and the new directions his life was taking, he began writing songs for his next album, 662. The number 662 is the telephone area code for Ingram’s northern Mississippi home, and it first came into use the same year he was born—1999.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

On 13th March 2020, BMG will release IN A LIFETIME, a career spanning collection from one of the most successful Irish bands ever. The IN A LIFETIME collection captures Clannad's incredible and enduring body of work which has, over 16 studio albums, created a legacy that's influenced a generation of fellow Irish musicians and artists.

Clannad (derived from the word clan meaning 'family' in Gaelic) was formed in 1970 by siblings Moya, Ciarán and Pól Brennan and their uncles Noel and Pádraig Duggan (who sadly passed away in 2016), and for a short time later became a six-piece with the addition of Enya Brennan who then went on to have her own successful solo career. The multi-award winning band have, without doubt, done more than any other group to take Irish music and the Irish language to a worldwide audience. Fusing elements of traditional Irish music and more contemporary folk, new age and rock they have created a beautifully unique and ethereal sound which combines haunting melodies and mesmerising vocals to transcend the sands of time whilst appealing to a worldwide audience of all ages.

After a decade which saw them release five hugely influential and groundbreaking albums, in 1982 Clannad reached wider recognition when they recorded Theme From Harry's Game for a powerful three-part TV drama depicting the troubles in Northern Ireland. The song became a commercial success upon its release as a single, peaking at number 2 in Ireland and number 5 in the UK, winning an Ivor Novello award and later being used in the movie Patriot Games. It remains the only UK hit single to be sung entirely in Irish.

In addition to the incredible achievements of this one, timeless song, in 1984 Clannad won a BAFTA for 'Best Original Television Music' for their soundtrack "Legend" (becoming the first Irish band to win it), which featured music and songs the band were commissioned to score for the Robin Of Sherwood TV series. In the two decades since the band has won a Grammy Award ('Best New Age Album' for 1999's Landmarks), Billboard Music Award, and a BBC 2 Folk Award (for Lifetime Achievement).

Clannad has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Bruce Hornsby, Steve Perry, JD Souther, Paul Young, and Duke Special but their most successful collaboration by far was with enthusi-astic supporter and fan, Bono of U2. A fan of the band who declared singer Moya as "one of the great-est voices the human ear as ever experienced," Bono duetted with the singer on Clannad's 1985 hit single - and the song which gives this collection its title - In A Lifetime.
