PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
10 million albums later and still proving to be a force to be reckoned with, Country supergroup, LONESTAR will take the stage at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on Thursday, May 24th at 7pm.

In April 2016, the group released their latest album, Never Enders, which featured 10 new songs that showcased the group’s trademark sounds. In 2017, they were nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Country Band.

Lonestar is known for merging their country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals. Comprised of Richie McDonald (lead vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitar & backing vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums), and Dean Sams (keyboards & backing vocals), Lonestar has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of ten million album units since their national launch in 1995, they have had over 20 singles on the Hot Country song chart. The band has had ten #1 country hits including “No News,” “Come Crying To Me,” and their crossover smash “Amazed” (which was also #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the first record since 1983’s “Islands in the Stream,” to top both charts). The group has recorded seven albums, one EP, and a greatest hits package for the defunct BNA Records, and one album each for three different independent labels.

Nathan King is a former singer of Christian hard rock/metal band, and an award winning country singer based currently out of Pittsburgh, PA. His hard work, and dedication have garnished him multiple awards and nominations such as the Indie Ville TV awards (Nashville, TN) for Best Country Album, Pittsburgh Music Awards for Best Singer/Songwriter, Independent Music Awards (New York City, NY) for Best Country Album.

West Virginia native and multi-instrumentalist, Nathan King, called on all of his skills on guitar, bass, banjo, drums, keyboards and vocals to fashion his album and the songs themselves are small-town tales of life, love and longing. The places and characters in the songs seem to have one foot in folklore and the other in obscurity. It is as if Nathan is reminding us that we can all write our own mythologies, all be the heroes of our own stories. These stories are happening to us all the time, they just need to be collected. And that is what he has done here.

His music takes a blend of country sensibility and rock muscle to build a sound which will not only please the Music City purists but which also has the infectiousness and sonic appeal that could see it tap into a much wider audience. And whilst it feels like very familiar territory, it also feels like a classic right from the first play through. His songs have simple but effective hooks, addictive chorus, clean but impressive guitar lines, rock-driven urgency and groove-some country vibe. Attention to detail and a less is more approach, it would seem, is the magic ingredient here and it is sure to connect with both the mainstream music fan and the more discerning tastemakers.
