Playing a mix of danceable blues with a nod towards swinging jazz and an eclectic selection of rock and pop tunes, the Willie Painter Band consists of four veterans of the Triangle music scene.Willie Painter (guitar) and Craig Dittmar (bass) were members of the Boomers, who played for over 20 years in the Triangle and eastern North Carolina. They have performed in the past with Lightnin’ Wells and the Real Gone Cats. Currently they also play with the Pigz Brothers, Mike Hamer and the Rhinoceroses, and the Tommy G Experience. Painter wrote a monthly music column for the Urban Hiker from 1999 to 2004.Bill Newton (saxophone, harmonica) is a founding member of two Triangle musical institutions: Rebecca and the Hi-Tones and Bill Newton’s Big Blues Quartet. He has recorded with the Indigo Girls and Big Mama E and the Cool, among others.Durham native, John Hanks (drums), is an in-demand musician who has performed with Triangle groups ranging from Blues and Rock, to Classical and Jazz. He has appeared recently with: Peter Lamb and the Wolves, the Atomic Rhythm Allstars, North Carolina Theater, Duke Chapel Choir & Orchestra, and jazz guitar great, Randy Johnston. Harvey Dalton Arnold is a North Carolina-bred southern gentleman who took to the musical road in his teens. While playing bass for a band in Florida, he received an offer to audition for the now legendary southern rock group The Outlaws on a Saturday night. By the following Saturday, he already had a stadium gig under his belt opening for Johnny Winter and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He toured extensively and participated on classic albums with The Outlaws from 1976 through 1980. Always having a love for the blues, Harvey’s first solo release was a blues album. His brand new effort “Stories To Live Up To” on Music Maker Recordings is a collection of songs and stories that showcase his writing and influences.

Tim Hildebrandt has been performing and recording music throughout his life, but first and foremost he is a songwriter. Born in Woodstock, NY Tim grew up in a military family and traveled the world until settling in North Carolina. Tim's songwriting reflects the breadth of his musical career from soul to country rock. He signed his first recording contract in 1973 with a group called Heartwood and released three albums. The third ‘Nothin Fancy’ was produced by the legendary Paul Hornsby who also produced the Marshall Tucker band and Charlie Daniels. While with Heartwood Tim shared the stage with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Delbert McClinton, Jerry Jeff Walker, Earl Scruggs, Vassar Clements, David Allen Coe, Asleep At The Wheel, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Steve Martin and many others.
Tim will be joined by Heartwood alumni Robert Hudson (drums) and Carter Minor (harp/vocals), as well as Dwight Little (bass), Dave Youngman (guitar/sax), and Lindsay Rosebrock (keyboards).
