Jamie McLean is a triple threat. As a guitarist for New Orleans royalty Aaron Neville and Dirty Dozen Brass Band he's toured the globe playing fiery guitar everywhere from Madison Square Garden to Japan’s Fuji Rock. His blue eyed southern soul vocals ooze raw emotion and his top line songwriting chops tie everything together.  With hundreds of original compositions to his name McLean creates a musical gumbo that incorporates New Orleans soul, Delta blues, middle America roots and New York City swagger

Jamie McLean Band is set to release their long awaited new album One and Only on February 23rd. Recorded at the famed Sound Emporium studios in Nashville One and Only captures the band's strongest songwriting to date. The album was produced by Ken Coomer of Wilco and features special guests Sam Bush and Jeff Coffin of Dave Matthews Band. Live staples "Virginia" and "One and Only" finally get a beautiful studio performance and Jamie McLean Band will tour behind their new album throughout the US and Canada this year!

The live show is where Jamie McLean Band excels and the band has shared the stage with the likes of Gregg Allman, Aaron Neville, Dr. John, Taj Mahal, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Trombone Shorty, Los Lobos, Blues Traveler, Marc Broussard, Gov’t Mule and many more. Jamie Mclean Band has also appeared at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Targhee Fest, Okeechobee Fest, Ottawa Blues Fest, Quebec City Summer Fest, and Warren Haynes’ Christmas Jam to name a few. McLean has also enjoyed the sponsorship of Gibson Guitars, Fuchs Amplifiers, La Bella Strings, Blue Microphones, John Varvatos and Esquire Magazine.

Don’t miss their amazing live set when they roll into a town near you!

"McLean and company ooze drops of southern roots rock, blues, R&B, funk and soul out of every note... the rock & roll swagger of the Rolling Stones combined with the songwriting prowess of Ryan Adams."- Jambase

“Jamie McLean Band is completely original and completely fabulous... The live version of this band is a three-dimensional experience not to be missed” – Hittin The Note

“A honkin' collection of Southern-style blues rock, Americana, and soul.... as bawdy as anything the Black Crowes tried to snag from The Faces or The Stones circa 'Sticky Fingers' and 'Exile on Main Street' and as groovy and gutsy as Bowie's 'Young Americans.'" - Charleston City Paper

“UNFORTUNATELY, NOWADAYS, THE PHRASE “JERSEY SHORE” COMES WITH A LOT OF
BAGGAGE.”

Billy Walton guitarist and vocalist with New Jersey Rock band the Billy Walton BandThere was a
time when the Jersey Shore represented the best in American entertainment. Count Basie, Lionel
Hampton, the Rat Pack, Dick Clark, Chubby Checker, they all made stops on the Jersey Shore.
Tony Mart’s was the club Levon Helm was playing when Dylan called.

Of course we all know what happened in Asbury Park. The town, ravaged by riots in the late 60’s,
became a melting pot of musical experimentation. Late night jams that ended when the sun came
up were the norm. Bruce Springsteen & Southside Johnny were the two acts that made their way
to an international stage from these humble beginnings.

For decades musicians have come and gone, always hoping to make a living and pursue a dream.
Billy Walton is no different. Billy’s proving ground was Long Beach Island. There he was
chaperoned from gig to gig by his Mom, two young to drive around and enter the clubs on his own.
He always was up for a jam and looking to learn some tricks. For years Billy spent his time
sharpening his skills, developing his stage act until he decided to step up to center stage with the
Billy Walton Band.

The band has focused its’ effort in Europe. 13 tours since 2007 have established the group in the
fertile British Blues Rock scene. In 2010 Billy got the call to join in with one of the masters of the
Asbury Park sound, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. For years Billy toured with the Jukes.
Most people don’t know that the creative force behind Southside was none other than Little Steven.
A highpoint in Billy’s tenure with the Jukes was when they recorded a live version of Southside’s
most acclaimed release, Hearts of Stone, with Little Steven.

New Jersey Rock Band the Billy Walton Band at Shorefire Recording StudiosGood things have
been happening to the Billy Walton Band. The band recently signed to Vizztone Records for the
release of Wish For What You Want. Produced by Tony Braunagel, the award winning BMA
producer and current Eric Burdon drummer, this batch of songs will certainly take the band to the
next level!

You can say Bruce Springsteen is a singer songwriter fronting an old-school rock n soul band.
Southside Johnny is a soul singer fronting an old-school rock n soul band. Billy Walton is the guitar
hero fronting the old-school rock n soul band. The horns are the common thread.

As young boys, Christopher and Taylor Malpass soaked up the music of their granddad’s phonograph records. Christopher earned his first talent show trophy at age 7, and Taylor was playing mandolin by the time he was 10. Today, they promote the work and music of classic country artists they treasure while creating new music and making their own mark in the lineage of a rich American cultural heritage.

With sincerity, honesty and an utter ease on stage that belies their years, their smooth vocal blend and skillful musicianship layer infectiously into the deep respect they pay to legends who have paved the way. Add the funny, off-the-cuff quips between the two 20-something siblings, and the engaging concert becomes a magnetic time-traveling journey to when a calmer rhythm reigned supreme.

The Malpass Brothers toured with the late Don Helms, former steel guitarist for Hank Williams, have opened for music legend Merle Haggard on multiple tours and appeared on stages from the Shetland Islands to Ryman Auditorium to Merlefest. Gifted musicians and songwriters, the brothers have shared billing with artists including Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Doyle Lawson, Rhonda Vincent, Marty Stuart, Doc Watson and more. The title cut video from their “Memory That Bad” album hit CMT Pure Country’s Top Ten. Their most recent self-titled recording, produced by bluegrass legend Doyle Lawson, was released by Crossroads’ Organic Records in 2015.

If you like cornbread & hush puppies, you’re gonna love the Malpass Brothers. If you like sweet tea, barbecue & collards, you’re gonna love the Malpass Brothers. If you like clean fresh air over a freshly-plowed field, if you like a great big ol’ corn puddin’ at a homecoming covered dish, you’re gonna love the Malpass Brothers. That’s a promise. (And you don’t lie about a covered dish supper.)

This is the real deal, folks. There is no pretense. This is music steeped in the legacy of the Louvin Brothers, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Sr. & others. Count on classic, real country. Count on new Malpass tunes. Count on a couple of old-time traditional gospels. Count on their probably coming down into the house at intermission and asking what you’d like to hear. Count on giggles and ribbing between brothers, along with daddy on the bass, who’s bound to be thinking, “What the hell are they doing now?” Count on some big, high man hair, and maybe an Elvis twitch or two. Count on lines at the CD table … and count on logging on to see where they’ll be next.

ABOUT JIM KWESKIN
Jim Kweskin is probably best known as a singer and bandleader. He also created one of the bedrock guitar styles of the folk revival, adapting the ragtime-blues fingerpicking of artists like Blind Boy Fuller to the more complex chords of pop and jazz. He has maintained a remarkably consistent musical vision since his jug band days, continuing to explore traditional folk and blues with the sophisticated sensibility of a jazz musician and jazz with the communal simplicity of a folk artist. He has recorded solo ventures, as a member of the U and I band, and with U and I bandmate Samoa Wilson, and continues to perform widely in various formats. In recent years he and Geoff Muldaur have often appeared as a duo, revisiting and expanding on their Jug Band repertoire.

ABOUT JAKE X. FUSSELL
Durham, North Carolina singer and guitarist Jake Xerxes Fussell’s self-titled debut record, produced by and featuring William Tyler, transmutes ten arcane folk and blues tunes into vibey cosmic laments and crooked riverine rambles. Jake Xerxes (yes, that’s his real middle name, after Georgia potter D.X. Gordy) grew up in Columbus, Georgia, son of Fred C. Fussell, a folklorist, curator, and photographer who hails from across the river in Phenix City, Alabama (once known as “The Wickedest City in America” for its rampant vice, corruption, and crime.) Fred’s fieldwork took him, often with young Jake in tow, across the Southeast documenting traditional vernacular culture, which included recording blues and old-time musicians with fellow folklorists and recordists George Mitchell and Art Rosenbaum (which led Jake to music, and to some of the songs herein) and collaborating with American Indian artists (which led Jake eventually to his graduate research on Choctaw fiddlers.)

As a teenager Jake began playing and studying with elder musicians in the Chattahoochee Valley, apprenticing with Piedmont blues legend Precious Bryant (“Georgia Buck”), with whom he toured and recorded, and riding wild with Alabama bluesman, black rodeo rider, rye whiskey distiller, and master dowser George Daniel (“Rabbit on a Log”). He joined a Phenix City country band who were students of Jimmie Tarlton of Darby and Tarlton; he accompanied Etta Baker in North Carolina; he moved to Berkeley, where he hung with genius documentary filmmaker Les Blank and learned from Haight folkies like Will Scarlett (Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna, Brownie McGhee) and cult fingerstyle guitarist Steve Mann (“Push Boat”); he appeared on A Prairie Home Companion. He did a whole lot of listening, gradually honing his prodigious guitar skills, singing, and repertoire. In 2005 he moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where he enrolled in the Southern Studies department at Ole Miss, recorded and toured with Rev. John Wilkins, and, last year, met up with acclaimed artist William Tyler to begin recording his first solo album.

Bassist George Johnson (Badly Bent Blues Band, Red Mountain T, Rockfish) has performed with Mike in rock bands and acoustic duos since the Seventies.

Drummer and outstanding vocalist Allen Diffie (Fathers and Sons, Corky Jones Band, String Theory) brings gobs of talent and experience (and a very infectious laugh) to the table.

Grammy-nominated Gregg Allman's former musical director and co-writer of "My Only True Friend" from Allman's latest "Southern Blood" release joins us at The Blue Note Grill, marking his solo band's first appearance in the state of North Carolina.

I know all about guitar players-I’ve seen the very best-and Scott Sharrard is the perfect guitarist for my band. He understands that you don’t need to play just for the sake of playing; Scott isn’t one of those guys who thinks they get paid by the note. He never steps on the vocals, and he leaves plenty of room for everyone else to do their thing, but when it’s time to solo, Scott delivers, boy
— Gregg Allman

— Glide Magazine

"Sharrard is the next Eric Clapton or Mike Bloomfield."
— Indianapolis Star Tribune

Born in Michigan and raised throughout the Midwestern “Rust Belt”, Scott Sharrard began his career in music when his family settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the early ‘90’s. Scott spent his teenage years attending Milwaukee’s prestigious High School of The Arts by day while spending his nights playing in clubs and touring with local blues legends like Stokes, Willie Higgins and Harvey Scales and with such international blues and jazz luminaries as Buddy Miles, Melvin Rhyne, and Clyde Stubblefield.

After rising to the top of the local circuit and at the tender age of 19, Scott and his band The Chesterfields moved to New York City with their innovative sound rooted in classic Soul, Blues, and Rock. The band flourished in New York, powered by Scotts lead vocals, guitar work, and original compositions. They recorded and released 3 albums, toured nationally, and received support and encouragement from people like Ahmet Ertegun, Russ Titlemen, Rob Thomas, and Dr. John. The Chesterfields broke up in 2003 and Scott finally went solo, releasing 2 albums to critical acclaim and touring and showcasing in NYC and L.A. He recorded and released his newest solo album “Ante Up” in 2008 and continues to tour and showcase with his live band.

As a sideman and guitarist, Scott is currently best known for his work as a member of The Gregg Allman Band. He has also performed with such artists as: The Allman Brothers, Levon Helm, Amy Helm, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, Jennifer Johns, Marshall Crenshaw, Kelley Hunt, Katy Pfaffl, Brian Charette, and Jay Collins & The Kings County Band.

GRAMMY-NOMINATED SINGER-SONGWRITER JANIVA MAGNESS REACHES A NEW CREATIVE APEX WITH THE POWERFUL,
GENRE-SPANNING LOVE IS AN ARMY

She’s reunited with producer Dave Darling for her 14th album, which
fuses the classic sounds of Memphis and Nashville with a modern focus
on songs that balance love, hope and protest.

Guests on this Americana-Soul album are Americana pillars Delbert McClinton,
Poco’s Rusty Young and Della Mae’s Courtney Hartman, as well as
prolific blues artists Charlie Musselwhite and Cedric Burnside

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — After Janiva Magness added a 2016 Grammy nomination to her 26 Blues Music Award nominations — with seven wins, including Entertainer of the Year — she might have taken at least a short rest on her laurels. Instead, one of the preeminent voices in contemporary American roots music has raised the bar for herself. Magness’ 14th album, Love Is an Army, is a brilliantly crafted bridge between the past and present, blending the echoes of classic soul and Americana music with timeless themes of love and the very contemporary sound of protest.

In 1987, four musicians got together for what they envisioned would be a one-time performance at Tipitina’s in New Orleans. It was a night of mostly acoustic music – sparse instrumentation with a strong emphasis on songwriting and vocal harmonies. The show far exceeded expectations, and on that March night The Subdudes were born.

Nearly 10 years later, after five well-received albums and several years of hard touring, The Subdudes called it quits. Spinoff projects ensued, as did the occasional reunion show.

In February of 2002, three of the four original band members decided to get back together. They recruited some friends, and they hit the road for the rest of the decade before taking another break.

Fast forward to March 2014, where they're giving it another go. This time it's the original lineup for the first time in 17 years, playing a few select shows.

And after nearly 30 years, still nobody in the world sounds like them.

Led by singer/guitarist Tommy Malone and accordionist John Magnie, the Subdudes draw most of their inspiration from the sounds of their native New Orleans, blending blues, gospel, funk, and R&B with their own harmony vocals; their sound is also notable for the band's substitution of a tambourine player for a drummer.

The band came together after backing artists such as Joni Mitchell and Roseanne Cash, and released its eponymous debut "The Subdudes" in 1989. Like the group's subsequent albums (including 1991's "Lucky," 1996's "Primitive Streak," and 1997's "Live at Last"), The Subdudes featured a mix of covers and originals. After an eight-year sabbatical, the Subdudes joined Bob Dylan guitarist Freddy Koella to produce "Miracle Mule" in spring 2004. Keb' Mo'would be the producer for the band's 2006 effort, "Behind the Levee," and "Street Symphony" would follow in 2007, and "Flower Petals" in 2009.

The Subdudes new album, "4 on the Floor" released August 2016, captures the experience when the boys grab their acoustic instruments and come down from the stage and play in the crowd.

Nathan Pope Band
My name is Nathan and I am a young blues guitarist from the heart of North Carolina with a great love for the blues. I received my first guitar at the age of 2 and was teaching myself to play by the age of 7. I give credit to my Grandmother, Doris Powell, for her inspiration and love of music. My knowledge and capabilities began to expand when I found the local blues society and started joining in on the weekly jams. The support and knowledge that I have gained from these jams has boosted my confidence and taken my playing ability to the next level.

In 2015 I gained unparalleled knowledge when I attended the Pinetop Perkins Masterclass workshop in Claksdale Mississippi. The workshop gave the ability to work with the likes of Bob Margolin, Jonn Del Toro Richardson and another young guitarist, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. I now perform in my own band with two seasoned musicians, Chuck Sirko and Bruce Wassel, as well as on my own acoustically. I have developed a very supportive fan base that enjoys my unique twist on the classics as well as my original tunes.

If playing the blues is a sin they all going to hell.

Guitarist, singer and songwriter James Armstrong was born to play the blues. His mother was a blues singer. His father played jazz guitar. Born in Los Angeles, California, Armstrong formed his first band in the seventh grade and by the age of 17 he was touring the country. Today he travels the world and continues to infuse his voice and guitar playing with his unique personality and seasoned skills.

In his twenties James was the youngest guitar player to play in Smokey Wilson's legendary band. James also helped form a band in Southern California called Mama Roo. That collaboration resulted in an album of the same name, and his first recording contract with Crescendo Records.

In the early 90's James got plenty of exposure to his musical influences, including Albert Collins, who spent quality time with James and taught him a few tricks. Shortly after that he was discovered and signed by HighTone Records while playing in a Santa Monica bar, later immortalized in his song Mr.B's.

Then, just as he was about to tour with his critically acclaimed first album Sleeping With A Stranger, tragedy struck. The events surrounding a home invasion left Armstrong without the use of his left hand and arm, including permanent nerve damage. This threatened to end his career forever. But, thanks to the support of friends, fans and the blues community Armstrong came back two years later with a second album, Dark Night.

What Armstrong lost in the tragedy he gained in "a whole new respect for the music itself, the power in slow blues, how the silences between the notes are as important as the notes". Armstrong also turned his efforts to perfecting his songwriting, vocal and slide guitar skills, all the while developing his gift for turning hardship into song. The results were a third album, Got It Goin' On. The CD garnered two WC Handy award nominations for best blues guitarist and for best song of the year with Pennies and Picks. The CD, Got It Goin' On, with its new grooves and surprises, was praised by critics for its part in redefining the blues and keeping the genre alive.

Over the years Armstrong has performed in many countries including North America, Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and the Middle East. He has worked beside Albert Collins, Keb Mo, Coco Montoya, Tommy Castro, Roy Brown, Shemekia Copeland, Chaka Khan, Charlie Musselwhite, Ricky Lee Jones, Joe Louis Walker, Mitch Michell (Jimi Hendrix's drummer), Peter Tork (The Monkees), Jan & Dean, just to name a few.

James skill as a performer has not gone unnoticed by filmmakers. Several of his songs have been chosen for movie soundtracks. Bank of Love was used in Hear No Evil, with Martin Sheen and Marlie Matlin. Two Sides to Every Story is featured in Speechles with Micheal Keaton and Geena Davis also in The Florentine with Jeremy Davies and Luke Perry.

“We’re switching things up a little. After four albums I’ve decided to step out and start using my own name. It’s something that a lot of people have encouraged me to do over the years, and I guess that 2017 just felt right.” That name, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, is also the title of the band’s new album, which will be released by Organic Records on June 9, 2017. “We’re keeping The Honeycutters too because we don’t want to confuse people…really, we’ve always been Amanda Anne Platt and the Honeycutters. I think I’ve just gotten to a place where I feel comfortable enough to be in the spotlight.”

Lyrically driven, the songs on Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters blend the band’s old-school country roots attitude with their shared influences of rock and folk. Amanda says of the album, “I think it’s just about life and all that that entails. Including but not limited to death, strangers, birthdays, money, leaving, arriving, seasons, corruption, and love.”

Performing along with Platt, The Honeycutters are Matt Smith on pedal steel and Stratocaster, Rick Cooper on bass, Josh Milligan on drums and harmony vocals, and Evan Martin on keys and Telecaster.

Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters is the group’s third release on Organic Records, and fifth album. Assembling the same the same team as 2016’s On The Ropes Balsam Range’s Tim Surrett steps in for the second time to co-produce this album along with Amanda. Its thirteen tracks were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Scott Barnett at Crossroads Studios in Arden, NC.
