Join pop icons Taylor DayneTiffany, and Jennifer Paige for a special Ladies Night Out! Taylor’s groundbreaking debut single “Tell It To My Heart” turned her into an overnight international star in 1987. She followed the smash hit with seventeen Top 20 singles over the course of her three-decade career, including Number Ones “Love Will Lead You Back” “Prove Your Love” and “I’ll always Love You.” Equally recognized for her songwriting talent, Taylor wrote many of her own hits as well as Tina Turner’s “Whatever You Want.” With a truly distinctive vocal style and powerful range, she created a unique vocal sound all her own that defined an era by her music.

Tiffany has earned two number one hit singles “I Think We're Alone Now” and “Could’ve Been,” and set a record as the youngest female artist to top the Billboard charts with her debut album. In 2000 Billboard Magazine described Tiffany’s album “The Color of Silence” as ‘thoughtful, intelligent, and full of grace’ and ranked it among the ‘Top Ten Best Albums of the Year.’ Her current album, “Pieces of Me,” is her 10th studio album and is her best work ever. With rave reviews for her new pop/rock sound and recent live shows, Tiffany is committed to worldwide touring and is so excited to take this music to her fans everywhere.

Jennifer Paige’s multi-platinum hit single, “Crush,” sold 11 million copies and went #1 in 16 countries. Her third solo album, “Best Kept Secret,” featuring the hit, “Beautiful Lie,” was written and recorded with Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. Paige started playing piano at age eight, and by age 10 she was playing in coffeehouses with her brother Chance in and around their hometown of Marietta, Georgia. In high school, she studied voice, dance, and theater before touring the country as the lead singer in a professional Top 40 cover band at 18.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Old Crow Medicine Show got their start busking on street corners in 1998, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival, MerleFest, and the rest is history.

It’s been over twenty years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry, and have won two Grammy Awards: Best Folk Album for "Remedy" (2014) and Best Long Form Music Video for "Big Easy Express" (2013). Additionally, their classic single, “Wagon Wheel”, received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019 for selling over 2,000,000 copies while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold. The band has announced their latest album, "Paint This Town," will be released this spring.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Written and performed by LeLand Gantt and developed at NYC’s Actors Studio by Estelle Parsons, Rhapsody in Black is a one-man show that explores LeLand’s personal journey to understand and eventually transcend racism in America. We follow his life story—from an underprivileged childhood in the ghettos of McKeesport, Pennsylvania to teenage experiments with crime and drugs to scholastic achievement and an acting career that land adult LeLand in situations where he is virtually the only African American in the room. His efforts to cope with the various psychological effects of consistently being marked “The Other” is recounted in remarkable and exquisitely moving detail, guaranteed to leave lasting impressions. Multiple elements combine to give Rhapsody its super-powered emotional punch, many of them concentrated in the incredible persona of its star.

Charming, self-deprecatingly funny, linguistically awesome, LeLand Gantt imbues every word that falls from his mouth with all the passion and poignancy of a preacher speaking the Gospel. This is partly because he’s confronting heavy subjects, but mostly because he believes so firmly in his message that it’s impossible for it to emerge any other way. In his own words, “Objective truth strikes a chord.”

A live Q&A with artist LeLand Gantt will be offered following the performance.

This performance deals directly with issues of race and contains select instances of profanity and adult situations.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

After presenting eleven seasons of emotionally evocative performances to local and international audiences and cultivating a love of dance in thousands of students, Collage Dance remains at the national forefront of inspiring the growth and diversity of ballet. Collage Dance’s founders established the professional dance company in New York City in 2006 in response to the ballet industry’s lack of racial diversity on stage. In 2009, after moving to Memphis, Tennessee, Collage opened its dance conservatory to expand access to classical training to communities of color and prepare them for collegial and professional dance appointments. Collage’s professional dancers serve as role models and cultural ambassadors for the city of Memphis while Collage’s conservatory programs provide a multitude of ways for our community to engage with the fine arts and dramatically changing the landscape of dance in the American South See Collage in “Saint Glory” and the rest of their season 12 repertoire at EKU Center on May 11.
