PLEASE NOTE: THIS CLASS TAKES PLACE AT WORKSHOPSF’S SECOND LOCATION IN UPPER HAIGHT AT 1310 HAIGHT STREET b/w CENTRAL AND MASONIC.
Brush lettering is everywhere, from signs to cards to even your Chipotle bag! Modern brush calligraphy takes traditional calligraphy and makes it more accessible by using easier tools so anyone with practice can create one of a kind signs, stationary or even address their own wedding invitations.
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of modern brush pen calligraphy including basic strokes, proper posture, paper & pen placement, how to connect and form letters. By breaking the letters down to strokes, students will be able to begin practicing word or letter creation. Students will then use Tombow brush pens to create their own set of cards or a small paper sign.
Since calligraphy is a learned skill that takes practice and time to develop, students will take home a modern calligraphy workbook that includes strokes, drills, lowercase & uppercase alphabet guides to continue to develop their penmanship after class. Students will use tracing paper during the workshop so the workbook can be used again and again. Students will also take home two Tombow Pens.
None. All pens and paper will be provided.
