Founded in the doom and gloom of the Pacific Northwest by duo Allison Green and Topher Walberg, The Black Doors hypnotize audiences as a well-oiled machine fueled by unbridled passion. Heart dragging lyrics and siren song melodies pour the foundation for a heavy haunted house built to last. Like a succubus draining the life force from the bodies of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Love and Rockets, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and The Kills, The Black Doors leave no doubt in their deft resurrection of the dark side of rock ‘n roll.
Well established in the North American music scene for over a decade, Green and Walberg have recorded, performed and toured with members and bands such as The Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mercury Rev, The Warlocks, Ape Machine, Swoon 23 and Sunset Valley. Proficient writers and performers, The Black Doors continue to unlock passages between familiar and innovative sounds.
Nate Wey is a tv sound mixer (Vice News, MTV, Hulu), musician, and artist residing in Portland. Previously the singer for shoegazers Souvenir Driver (who performed with The Dandy Warhols, Lemonheads, Swervedriver, and Froth before disbanding), Wey's current project adds cinematic and pop atmospheres to his emotive sound.
His newest, unreleased album, Still Adventures, was recorded this spring with Gregg Williams (The Dandy Warhols, Blitzen Trapper, Sheryl Crow); and includes Portland mainstays Tobias Berblinger (Roselit Bone, Kassi Valezza), Sarah Nienaber (Candace, Shady Cove), Travis Hendricks (Daydream Machine), Leah Heuser and others.
