Doors Open: 8:30 PM
Terry Baucom is one of bluegrass music’s leading journeymen, having played over nearly fifty years with many bluegrass luminaries and having help found such groundbreaking bands as Boone Creek (with Ricky Skaggs and Jerry Douglas), Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, IIIrd Tyme Out, and Carolina. A native of Monroe, North Carolina, he currently tours with Terry Baucom’s Dukes of Drive, a band consisting of Baucom on banjo; Joey Lemons on mandolin and vocals; Will Jones (from Cana, Virginia) on guitar and vocals; and Joe Hannabach on bass. The band’s 2015 recording, “The Rock,” finished as the most played single on the Bluegrass Today radio chart for that year. As testament to his influence as an instrumentalist, Baucom’s technique and signature licks on the banjo are widely emulated, and his instructional materials and banjo lessons and workshops are popular. In 2008, Deering Banjos introduced the Terry Baucom Signature model banjo, while the Dunlop company also uses Baucom as an endorser, offering signature Terry Baucom banjo strings. Baucom was inducted into the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame in 2015. ~~~~ This concert will be at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum located at 520 Birthplace of Country Music Way, Bristol, VA 24201. ~~~~ The Crooked Road’s Mountains of Music Homecoming is made possible by the support of the
