Cary Ballet Presents Spring Works Sat. April 22 7pm
Doors Open: 6:30 PM
Run Time: 90 minutes + 1 intermission
Join Cary Ballet Company for the enchanting story ballet, Coppélia, contemporary ensembles and more! This ballet is charming, funny and includes wind-up dolls, festive dancing and a dash of magic. Follow young Swanhilda as she learns that her fiancé Franz has been ogling Coppélia, who sits on her balcony all day reading and never speaking to anyone. This life-size mechanical doll resides with the town toy maker, Dr. Coppelius, who has many surprises in his toy shop. This story has mistaken identity, a festival for a new town clock and a wedding that is celebrated with several joyous dances. Contemporary works by Andrea Astuto and Heather Iler that bring energy and dynamic movement showcasing the dancers ability across genres. These are not to be missed!
