The first up in our new MaineMadeMusic Series! Vicky Andres and Life Itself team up with 61 Ghosts to deliver an unprecedented Opera House experience.
ABOUT VICKY ANDRES: Immersed in her live shows, Vicky Andres performs with complete abandon. She leaves every performance energized. Her passionate vocals can move from a vulnerable whisper to a courageous roar! Her intricate guitar work is driving and rhythmic. She mixes funk, single note lines with chord progressions that flow with a songwriting sensibility that hook the listener and never let go. Together Vicky, Max and Jason deliver an intense performance that is edgy, energetic and positive, fitting somewhere between Alternative, Rock and Funk.
“Vicky Andres should be acknowledged as being among the leading singer songwriters of her generation. Her songs – self confessional, passionate, life affirming, full of poetic imagery and always intelligent, combined with her rich, powerfully engaging, slightly on the edge voice and imaginative, sensitive guitar playing – draws the listener in and never lets up. Vicky is truly an outstanding talent. She needs to be heard by many!!!” David Maxwell, Tone-Cool Records
ABOUT 61 GHOSTS: 61 Ghosts are the duo of Joe Mazzari on guitar and vocal and the singularly named Dixie on drums and backing vocals.
Joe Mazzari and Dixie Deadwood, a duo that draws upon their own personal musical influences, their combined passion and need to create a style of music all their own -- one that's influenced by the urban streets and the restless spirits of the Mississippi Hills. Each had honed their own sound through years on the road: Mazzari with his poignant lyrics, melodies and rock guitar, Dixie with her bare-knuckled approach to drumming. Together, Joe and Dixie mix steamy grooves, razor-sharp dynamics and high energy to create what they refer to as Alternative Blues.
